Inspired by the Rollcage games of 1999 and 2000, GRIP is a new IP for a new generation. A return to the hardcore combat racer, bristling with heavy weapons and packing ferocious speed, the game is an intense, sensory feast. Harnessing the awesome potential of Epic's Unreal Engine 4, GRIP will take you back to your nostalgic past, while simultaneously propelling you into a kick-ass future.

Message from the dev to GAF about Xbox One, KS goal, and other questions asked in thread
Thanks for all the nice comments guys as well as the huge support. Much appreciated.
I've noticed that Neogaf is usually great way to gauge how we're doing, since the users on here are usually rational thinkers and don't jump to conclusions... and just don't generally act like idiots.

+10 pts for Dom & Roland and Technical Itch! two of my all-time favorite DnB artists <3

Pledged $25 USD for the time being. Will probably up it later on!

Great stuff! If you guys have questions, let us know we'll try to answer the best we can :). (I'm kinda part of the team 'Sven Van Lathem').

I hope people will like the rewards, especially the steelbook !

Already mentioned it in the other thread, but I backed this. But really dissapointed that there seems to be no plans for an Xone version. At least during the kickstarter campaign.

Is there any plans for an Xbox one version at any point? Either added to the campaign or post campaign?

Looks great, and I was a big fan of Rollcage back in the day.
Will keep an eye on the Kickstarter's development for now, but I'm almost definitely gonna back this.

From the KS page:

Following our main, general release on PC and PS4, we will then take a view on whether to release on other platforms. If the user figures are good, and we have the funds to do it, then we will do just that. If so, we anticipate that this will take in the order of 2 to 3 months to port, with delivery sometime during Q2 2017.

Also went for Speeder. It is pleasantly inexpensive.

Will the game support local multiplayer ? Sorry if this has been answered on the kickstarter. My phone won't go on their page.

Also, rollcage was amazing.

I couldn't tell you how many hours I spent playing the Rollcage games on the PS1. To get something that so closely replicates those awesome games for the current gen is very welcome indeed.

Hi, no XBO version is planned right now.

Local multiplayer (splitscreen) and online mutliplayer is confirmed yes. :)

I always wonder, in games like this, whether the speedometer is actually accurate or if they just throw up big numbers to make it seem cooler. Like, in that second .gif on the OP...that looks more like 200kph at MOST to me, not 300-400+.

You know what this game needs, based on the awesome GIFS that's been captured, a free camera mode that can be used in a recorded game. Just to capture some of the awesome scenes of destruction and carnage that will occur.

So Im thinking Im going to contribute to this game but Ive never used Kickstarter before. What happens to my money if they dont reach the goal?

They must fudge it to a degree. I'm not sure going 400kph on terrain like that would actually work.

You only pay if it reaches the funding goal. If it doesn't then nothing happens. Note that this is the KS way, there are other crowdfunding sites that have different ways of doing things (some eve offer a choice).

So far its early, obviously, but will we the other environments include daytime colorful locales? I like post-apocalyptic settings as much as the next guy, but man this game would be incredible with some SEGA-like arcade aesthetic mixed in.

Big fan of the original PC game BTW. Good luck with the goal!

Looks amazing. Would love a look at some of the other planets though. Too much grey and brown in that trailer.

Right now only this track has been completed. Expect much colors from the different planets, on the kickstarter page you'll see some concept arts of the different worlds

Don't have any spare skrillah right now, or I'd pledge. Did share it on Twitter, though.

This is definitely also what we need, lots of sharing from people on twitter / facebook / ...
