and that

they're meant to show of tech you had to be there to experience as intended, and yeah they're not really meant to be fun for more than a few minutes either

I just think it's weird to do so. These are not really games either.

These videos merely serve to look at what happened in the game rather than to judge the experience in any proper way

So, instead of pressing a stick into a direction you move your head into a direction, every time. This is basically it. This is what people make a big deal out of the last few months. Somethig that basically could have been done by gluing a Wii Mote to your head.

Looks like you've figured it all out.

Very impressed by the fidelity they've managed on a PS4. It's all happening so fast. Never thought I'd experience proper consumer grade VR so soon.

you forgot the part where it feels like you're in the game itself.

Heist would be really cool if you could actually move. But as long as Sony doesn't release a new version of PSMove with a analog stick, they destroy a lot of potential for dual-PSMove games (and the headset in general).

Rigs didn't look that cool in this gameplay, a bit too slow imo. But I think it was because they person didn't play really good and it was his first time.

Yup, that's all there is. You nailed it. Good effort.

Rigs looks cool. It's more the kind of game you'd expect at arcades with a 360° immersive screen and a twin stick dashboard, but VR would be the next best thing (also more convenient).

Shit, why didn't you say so earlier. So much money wasted developing these head sets when the solution was right there all along.

Now why didn't I think of that

London Heist looks like a very fun action flick. I'm so stoked to play it. I hope they put it out for consumers. Even my dad would love to play it.

We've come a long way since this.

that puzzling face
I'm watching the Rigs video, and I'm assuming that delay is between the rig and the TV, and not between movement and VR display, right? (i.e. only inherent to the direct feed) Otherwise that'd be downright nauseating to be using.

yeah I assume its probably caused by the break out box as it does some processing on the image to flatten it out

Dayum. You tell 'em bud.

Anyways RIGS looks fucking cool. Definitely my most anticipated VR game.

I was able to play one part of London Heist at Gamescom, was super impressed with it, since it was my first interaction with VR whatsoever.

Hello I would like to buy your idea for 2 billion dollars.

More than the VR stuff itself, I am impressed by the visual fidelity of these games considering they're running on a PS4 at 60+ frames per second (120 with reprojection?). I remember people claiming these games would look like PS2 games since they have to be made for VR.

Regardless, I'm pretty excited to try out Morpheus and Oculus next year. VR is shaping up quite nicely.

They can't fool you.

There are probably two factors there: TV image processing might be slower than in the HMD, and the other is that the mech head moves slower on purpose. Your head is actually followed by the aim, represented by those green traces. apparently it is to keep very fast perspective change from happening, which could be very nauseating.

No, you also need to glue your TV to your head

I know, right? It's not like you can feel an unparalleled sense of immersion and involvement, and experience games like never before. Just dorky gimmicks. Fuck those scammers.
