$30 bucks. Game was really bad. It'll be $15 by the end of the year or a free PS+ game some time down the line.
He doesn't like used, but I'll tell him know and see if he goes for it. thanks

Might want to tell your friend to call them.

jeez I hate that all my pre-orders are with Amazon now and I'll sit here days after a games release waiting for it to ship

fuck their shitty shipping

Amazon_Preorders1.png

I finally sat down and made a list with all my Amazon pre orders (30% off the base price then with Ontario tax applied). I pretty much added anything that I had a slight interest in thinking, "I'll figure it out closer to release."

I cannot afford buying all of these games this holiday season so it's time to start canceling games.

I have a feeling I'm going to regret canceling Nintendo games this year as they generally don't go that low in price ever, but I really don't think any of them are must have on day 1.

How's everyone else handling their crazy Amazon pre orders?

Are you a collector, or are you open to selling games as you complete them? Theres nothing saying you can't spend a week or two playing a game, and then reselling it on Craigslist. Assuming it's a recent title, you could probably sell it for the same price that you got it for on sale.

I'm pretty confident you can blast through Yoshi and Star Fox in a week each, then get $50 for them resale, easy.

I pretty much live paycheque to paycheque, so as release dates come I calculate if I can afford it or not. Obviously games are a low priority in budget.

I'll flip a game if I finish it quick if it's alright. If it's really good I collect it.

So far I can afford the Sept 1 games but time is another issue and I don't really play video games 24/7 either.

Potential cancels:
Mad Max
Forza already cancelled
Assassin's Creed: Syndicate
Halo 5 (haven't even done Halo 1-4 via MCC yet)

Assassin's Creed has a history of dropping in price hard and fast around the holidays. Cut it!

Syndicate might not be very good, and even if it is, it will probably be buggy for a little while after launch. Plus, Ubisoft games get big price drops eventually.

Mad Max and Halo 5 aren't really safe bets, either, but they're probably more likely to be good on day 1 than Assassin's Creed, and I say this as a really big Assassin's Creed fan.

It's a matter of the time I have available to beat the games. There's kind of a stock pile of games out between mid october and november and I have no doubt in my mind that I'd much rather be playing Battlefront then plowing through some other ones.

It's kind of the reason why I didn't pre order Fallout 4. I'd absolutely love to play it, but there's no way I'd have to time to really enjoy the game, and more than likely by the time I would the game would probably be the same price as my amazon order. Kijiji would definitely be an option for some of the games, but the combination of limited time and money means I have to be selective with the games I'm getting this holiday season.

So I've contacted Amazon 4 times about my MGSV order which has no estimated delivery date

Every time "Yes you will receive your item by Sept 1"

This morning I contacted them again since it's supposed to ship in two days

"I'm sorry it looks like the item for your order is unavailable. I will have our stock team investigate "

Lol. I keep a similar spreadsheet. It's good to budget these things.

I'm not. I'd say you're a bit out to lunch here bud, this isn't a good way to manage a budget. You really shouldn't pre-order.

Looking for Destiny The Taken King: Collector's Edition for PS4

If someone has it preordered and willing to sell it I'll take it off their hands, please PM me if you do!

It makes perfect sense. Preorder everything you may be interested in and then cancel the ones that don't fit within your budget. You get the 30% off deal and are also locked into the lowest possible price in the event that the cost of a game goes up, you can cancel your order up to the day of shipping. There is no good reason not to do this.

I preordered 20 games but will likely only keep half of them, I've already cancelled a few. Yet I paid $54 for Until Dawn instead of $75

But preordering nets you 30% off and the products are easy to cancel.

Preordering is what everyone in Canada should be doing during E3.

I would much rather have a bunch of cheap pre-orders I can cancel at any time, then suddenly change my mind and pay 80 or whatever the fuck they are charging us now for new games

BadWolf

Yeah, we got an additional discount later on top of the 30% so those who preordered during E3 are getting almost 40% off.

The crappy Canadian dollar can't screw us over either.

By the time you get around to playing all those games, won't the prices come down anyway

I cancel the orders I don't think I'll have time for. Like others have said, it's not hard, and keeping an updated spreadsheet of your upcoming pre-orders is a good way to visualize your game schedule.

Yep I actually like the scheduling aspect. I recently went through my preorders and decided what my September, October, and November games will be. It makes me think about realistically how much time I need with each one

Never said this was my budget; it's really just a way to keep track of my Amazon pre-orders for when I need to cancel the many games I don't want anymore.

Getting a game for $50ish instead of $90 was my goal when making this big order. I figured that by the time they were close to release I'd have a better idea if I really wanted the game or not. $90 is way too much for a game, $50 on the other hand is about the price I'd pay.

It's been two+ months since Batman came out and it's still $7 more than I paid for it at launch even though it's on sale on Amazon ($15 off).

Pre-ordering at 30% off is a must for us Canadians imo. Prices in general don't seem to be dropping as quickly or as far down as they used to. There are some exceptions of course. I wouldn't bother pre-ordering an Ubisoft game.

Well depends on who made the game really.

Like, Ubisoft stuff ALWAYS heavily drops in price after year. AC Unity isn't even at one year yet and it was $10 last week.

Nintendo games never drop in price. Some third party stuff like Batman Arkham Knight hasn't budged. Hell, Dying Light on sale still goes for $40.

I have Forza 6 and Destiny Taken King on pre-order from Amazon, and I'm debating whether or not to keep Forza 6 because I know it won't drop in price for a while.

I guess I'm just thinking about my gaming queue and how backlogged I am personally. By the time I get to a game these days, its way cheaper than release day prices.

Anyone know where in Toronto I can find mini-DVD jewel cases for GameCube games?

All I find are ones that come with blank discs but cost too much.

I've officially given up on my backlog. I now only play new games I buy. I've been doing a good job of finishing 1-2 games a month.

Lol Sony is replacing the Vita 2000 with memory card and Borderlands 2 with just the system only for the same price.

Hah, I bought that before Borderlands 2 came out and managed to sell the code for $45. Really helped subsidize the cost of the 64GB memory card.

Is anyone still buying Vitas these days? I think another good bundle would help, Minecraft is a no brainer.

You should go 100% the other direction; don't buy any games until you've run out of old games to get through.

It doesn't.

fuck. I even cancelled my pre-order at ebgames. /facepalm

Well let's not panic yet. The online chat service people are clueless so I don't put stock into anything they say

Regardless here is my discussion with them this morning

I cancelled my EB order this morning before checking this thread. Whoops. According to Amazon, my order is looking like it should be delivered between Sept 8-9, which I can totally live with. Here's hoping there aren't any major issues with their stock of the item!

Thanks for the chatlog. I can just assume the CSR is going by the current website stock and will check further to see when it will actually arrive.

You'll get it, maybe not by release but you'll get it. Amazon's shipping isn't the best, depending on where you are, but we do E3 orders for the DEALS. That means saving money you'd otherwise spend on the same product so keep that in mind. Stock levels might be a bit low but I doubt they'll straight up cancel your order.

You should go 100% the other direction; don't buy any games until you've run out of old games to get through.

I tried that for years and came to the conclusion that the reason I haven't played and/or finished them is because I just don't care enough about them. Games I really want to play always skip ahead in my queue. I'll likely never play half the games on my Steam account. I stopped buying stuff I don't plan on playing right away for the most part so my backlog isn't growing at least.

I'm completing games way more often doing it this way.

I have ordered all my games on Amazon for about 2 years and this would be the first time I haven't had one on release day. I am playing the game on Tuesday so if my Amazon order hasn't arrived by then I'll be cancelling it and buying elsewhere. It is what it is I suppose

Anyone want a Star Wars Battlefront Xbox One Amazon preorder? I think I will either drop it for BOIII or Battlefront PC.
