Sooooo good that I still have 2 weeks off before going back to work.... it will be 2 of the best weeks ever in my gaming life <3

I can't believe I'm holding in my hand the last MGS game from Kojima san :(

This moment is so big for me to realize now...

Some initial quick impressions after completing the intro 2 main missions and 1 side op:

Intro is absolutely insane, one of the best I've played in gaming I was glued to the screen through the entire thing.

Controls are really nice much improved on GZ stuff like snapping to cover feels really smooth.

D-Horse controls great.

Having not played PW the fulton system is awesome, love watching things fly up into the air.

Troy Baker is great as Ocelot imo having read stuff about his accent I actually like it. Robin Atkin Downes is fantastic. BB hasn't really talked much so far but it's not a problem for me.

Mother Base is fucking amazing, I cannot wait to expand it and build an army. Just standing there watching Heli's fly in to the LZ is amazing.

Probably forgot a ton more that I've done but yeah it really is as good as you imagine it is. Gonna be my goty without a shadow of a doubt.

Fucking yes

Thanks for the impressions!

Yeah, it is getting kind of ridiculous just how much street date has been broken.

Wonder if it'll make publishers think twice about sending SimplyGames copies so early. 1 or 2 days is common enough an often necessary for guaranteed release date delivery, but 5 days is kind of silly.

Oh well ¬¬

I was worrying about this. If it makes much of a noise-up, certain publishers might blacklist Simply Games so this doesn't happen again.

Konami should just push the release date forward. It's pointless holding off at this point and spoilers are getting harder and harder to avoid.

It's frustrating as hell.

Can someone describe how enemy alerts work in MGSV? Is it like Ground Zeroes where everything is instantly alert once an enemy spots you?

For those playing the game, how's the soundtrack?

Have you made use of the day/night system for infiltration?

Do enemies respawn at bases?

Does the world feel living and breathing? Or is it static? Any civilian villages?

Damn I would love to play this right now but maybe it is a good thing as I wouldn't have the time. Can't wait for next week.

Arrggghh any idea if Best Buy is gonna ship on time here in the U.S.? I've heard it's pretty hit or miss as far as release date delivery goes with them but I was able to get the Collector's Edition and it SAYS release date delivery...I figured it should've started doing something by now.

You what I like about this game most? It's just a game. A really good game, mind you, but it really is just a well designed game. The Phantom Pain isn't too different to similar open world games, it's just better.

That's new for a MGS game. I can't say MGS3 would be a great game without its story, but MGSV most certainly would be.

HA, seems Konami could only pull their shit on the box cover.

I'm so very glad it's in the game, they deserve to be well credited

Theres a lot of that. There are credits after every OP from what I can tell and the game plasters Hideo Kojima everywhere, which I am glad for.

Although... it is a bit excessive. But like you said, I'm glad it was only on the box too.

already spent about 18 hours of game time.

Just 10 main mission cleared, and about 16 of 157 side missions cleared.

it might very well be a kind of protest from Koji Productions and Kojima himself, which I'm totally up for.

Yup. It's what I've wanted out of a stealth game for a long time.

Damn you all! This game releases on my GF's bday... as a gift to her, I'll likely need to NOT play this during that day... :/
