Metal Gear Solid 5: TPP Pre-load up on PSN

I can't believe it's finally time

PS3 preload is up as well, but it seems to be broken up into 3 parts (probably since the game might ship on multiple disc on last gen consoles). I hope it lets me play the first part of the download while downloading the rest.
Edit: This first download is 12 GB and it won't tell me what the other parts are just yet.

Isn't that smaller than MGSIV?

Insanely huge movie files is the bulk of what makes MGS4 so huge in size. They had five mission briefing cutscenes of anywhere from 15-20 minutes in length on top of the regular story cutscenes that are close to that length + the hour long epilogue which is divided at least into three different segments (or files).

File size really doesn't mean anything, it's what you use with the space you have and MGS4 used most of the blu-ray for cutscenes.

It is illegal to Tag Fish in Tag Fishing Sanctuaries by law 38.36 of the GAF Wildlife Act
OMG!!!!

CANT FRIGGIN' WAIT >_<

How do I activate this download remotely? I preordered the digital version. I'm out but want it to be ready when I get home tomorrow.

Hm if I were home and turned it on would it be downloading in the downloads section? I want to call home and make sure lol.

You can turn your PS4 on, then go to the webstore and activate the download there to be sure ;)
//there should be a button on the webstore next to the game where it says 'download to my PS4'

OP how does it show you the full download? Only see the 4.5 file.

The full download begins after you finish the initial 5GB one, it's way to let you play a little bit of the game if you started your preload late/ it didnt finish when the game unlocks.

Don't forget the uncompressed audio. That was the bulk of it.

You can use the playstation app on your phone. Load it up, goto the store, search for metal gear solid, find the PS4 version you have preloaded and select "download to your ps4"

The other will start automatically when the first part is finished.

Yeah I know but never seen it displayed like this, usually you go to information and there you see 5/26 GB for example , just numbers, not a progression bar like in the OP, maybe they changed it since the last time I bought a full game digitally...

I'm pretty sure that's how it was when I got Bloodborne and Witcher 3, those were the last retail games I purchased digitally recently

Yeah, it's been shown this way for a long time now, since 2.0 last fall IIRC.

I don`t think it was because the cutscenes, since only two are videos, the rest is in real time.

Even though I knew there was no Steam preload I still thought it was that for a second. My heart has been broken :(

Most of it was real time though. The bulk of MGS4 was just uncompressed audio.

Don't forget all of those weird shows and commercials that play when you start a new game.

I'm glad it's started today. I have Tuesday/Wednesday off, so hopefully it'll be done by then.

For anyone preloading whats the time it opens up? It says Midnight Pacific on storefront but Midnight Eastern on Preorder page. If I can play it Monday night that may be a determining factor for me.
