This game will look stunning in motion. Just as XIII did.

XIII also looked absolutely shite in screens. Many people used to chime in threads and say it looked like a PS2 game in HD....and now that's considered one of the PS3's finest looking games.

I have no doubt that XV will be too for PS4.

Just that there is a collaboration in discussion and there is of course mutual admiration. This is cool to be honest. Avalanche seem to be able to create massive seamless worlds, so they are ideal partners, and it must be pretty cool for them to be able to work on an FF game!

Just a greetings from one of the Avalanche guys, they're interested in the tech behind XV and Agni's Philosophy, and that they just only started discussions about the collaboration between the two teams. Nothing new.

It won't ever be explained. Squall and Seifer set an unrealistically high standard for the explicability of anime scars.

Actually, I think he'd look better without the scar. It doesn't really add anything to his design - if anything, it makes him look more generic.

One of my main concerns is the lack of music in the overworld when stepping out of the car. I really hope it isn't like this throughout the game. The best part of the old FF's is having the environments burned in your memory with amazing music.

I honestly feel that FF13 has better graphics than XIII-2&3
Seems to me like the quality went down (probably
on a budget or something)
But yes, FFXIII was, is stunning looking, than again it's not an open world,

The environments seen are not really what I'd want in a final fantasy game (something more out of the ordinary and fantastical) but hopefully other regions are more out there in terms of visual presentation.

But the whole world is explorable unless it's physically impossible for the characters to go there (high cliffs, deep water)

I dont think anybody official said as much(tho there is a blog one of the developers of FFXV saying that xenoblade X was awesome and want to amaze like they did iirc) but there is fan narrative that they're supposedly competing even though they arent technically.

I'd argue water isn't wet from a semantic standpoint, in that, per common usage, things covered or soaked with water are wet, and it's not clear that water can itself be covered or soaked with water. I don't believe science has anything to say on the matter. What would the relevant null hypothesis be that you could seek to empirically disprove?

Also, XIII (not so much its sequels) is one of the best looking PS3 games, hands down.

I think you might be misinformed via the end result of an internet telephone game that resulted from a blog post from one of the directors of something in the game.

He said something to the effect of hes a huge fan of Xenoblade, and wants to incorporate a lot of its elements of freedom of manuever into the game, but doesnt want to be compared to xenoblades as a standard, as he feels its an incredibly hard bar to meet.

Should be easy to find by googling 'FFXV director xenoblade'.




People are really down on this. To the extent its bumming me out too much. I cant even muster a swarmy swipe at the combat system. Large worlds require considerable resource overheads guys, you cant make a game like this look like the order, and besides, its quite a ways out, Lod's can and will be updated.

I feel like squeenix is finally actually giving something the ol college try again. They are making mistakes a long the way that im not thrilled with, but overall, I really don't see this level of beatdown being proportional to whats being shown.

Step back and think about that.

I feel everyone knows this on some level, but it's just conveniently forgotten or brushed to the side in the negativity dog pile. 9 years since announcement can do funny things to a person. Someone posted a distant-tree-comparison from Uncharted 4 the other day, and the LOD was no better. XV isn't even being compared to other PS4 games so much as some idealized version of itself that people have built up in their minds over the last nine years, and there's no way any game could possibly live up.

That doesn't mean it's beyond critique (I'm not crazy about only controlling Noctis myself), but things do seem to have gone a bit overboard.
