Destiny |OTForever29| The Season Finale

My final year one Nightfall. This reward screen is borderline poetic.

I was remote playing from work and kept on dropping connection, so that's my excuse for the terrible performance. Gjallarhorn literally joined after Phogoth was already dead.
Last week my buddy and I 2 manned the NF, after the boss was dead a third friend joined in. He never even loaded into the world, but got his first Hawkmoon. I got coins and the other guy got a legendary sniper.

Yup. Looking forward to all of that shit being fixed somehow.

Hopefully they looked at the numbers and realized how few people get that far in trials.

I'm fairly average in pvp, usually finish with a positive k/d most of the time. But I never would have made it to the lighthouse if it weren't for Ned and Tashik. Most people don't have the luxury of being carried by some ridiculously skilled players.

This is one of those weeks where I really need to buckle down and get shit done at work, especially since I'm taking some days off next week. But I know as soon as the patch hits my productivity will be wiped for the day.

Damn this game.

This is literally what I told myself this morning. I have a few more hours of productivity before it plummets this afternoon, and likely into the rest of the week.

Destiny 2.0 | The Gamma Testing Is Over

Needed one last etheric last night to get my final character to 34 (yeah, was not playing as much HoW as I should). Convinced my friends to run PoE34 only after agreeing to do a NF with them first. NF drops Etheric for me saving us from doing the PoE run. Year One ends with good RNG...

PSA: Petra currently has the Skoriks bounty for those who are missing that grimoire.

It may be gone after the patch and who knows if/when bungie will get around to adding the mission to the director.
Does she have either of these others?

I may try to struggle through remote play from the office here if I can polish off all of them.

lol
You actually dont need the bounty to get the grimoire though (Except for Skoriks for reasons below by Deku). I got Silent Fang and *something* Claw's last night while Petra didn't have them. But yeah the actual enemies might be gone after 2.0.

The Skoriks bounty is the only one that requires the actual bounty to complete because it opens up a new mission in the director...

It kept things exciting! No one would have cared about PVP centered guns (unless it was on the level of the old Mythoclast lol).

It did, I won't argue that. But I think there should be multiple paths to obtain those rewards.

I need those patch streams. Timing my lunch break for about half an hour after the patch drops so I can start watching right away.

The Skoriks bounty is the only one that requires the actual bounty to complete because it opens up a new mission in the director... the others can be completed by just going to the location and killing the dude whether or not you have the bounty.

But if you can't play before 2.0 hits then it doesn't matter anyway.

You don't need the bounties to get those other two. You can kill them in patrol and get the grimoire entry without the bounty.
Edit: I am slow on the draw this morning. Good hunting Hawkian!

I'm afraid not. At least none of those are showing on the Bungie app.

You need the bounty to access the special mission to kill Skoriks.

You're right about the others, assuming they don't remove the mobs from the world completely.

Didn't they say not to shard stuff until the TTK?
Yeah they did for 2 reasons;

1) You need to keep at least one armor piece at 42 light in each slot to make sure you'll remain a 34 once the patch hits (aka if you shard everything and your max level as a result is 30, you'll only transfer a 30 to 2.0).

2) There's no guarantee exotic blueprints will exist for exotics not currently in your inventory (ie if you sharded a hard light 5 months ago and never got another one, there's no guarantee you'll have the blueprint unlocked).

Dupes are worthless at this point other than saving yourself the time of transferring from one character to another. Though the 2.0 versions all have to be re-leveled again so dupes are even more worthless now than they were before.

Made it just in time to finish the NF's, weeklies and a few bounties.

Boy, today's nightfall sure is a joke, last tribute to the allmighty GG'horn. Got Voidfangs, Menacles and Young Ah. Spine. Played the Weekly with randoms, was surprisingly good, got really lucky, we did smooth and fast.

Now... onto the hype train!

Deej, patch notes, please! ^^

I think some rewards should be harder than others. I want to see a player in the tower and get jealous over gear. The last time I felt that was over the original Vex Mythoclast. It was the best feeling killing Atheon and getting that gun to drop.

lmao at the idea that trials success was skill and not thorn based

Thorn wasn't a big deal at all, the best players are beast with the snipers and moving around the environment. Thorn was a great compliment to skilled players, but by no means does it mean assured victory.

So can someone explain Treasure Keys and Prison of Elders for me? Is a character only limited to getting one per week? Also, should I only use my Treasure Keys in the harder versions of PoE?

Thanks!

That's fair, and I was never cut off from content because of it, but I would have loved more elemental primaries and also those guns looked cooool.

Not the armor though that shit was wack as hell

Nope, you're guaranteed one key per week by turning in a Queen's bounty. The rest you can earn from the little chests at the end of PoE runs or from Ether chests after killing the Wanted Wolves in Patrols. They can be farmed. Or well, for a few more hours :p

I don't know how we'll get keys after 2.0

Oh and you can use them on any difficulty, it doesn't matter. I've actually gotten more Exotics from the 28 chest.

You can get treasure keys from doing your first Petra bounty of the week, and from RNG in the small PoE chest. You need a treasure key to open the large PoE chest. The first time you open the large PoE chest you get a guaranteed exotic. The first time you open the large PoE chest on Skolas level 35 you get a ship, a one time shader, and an emblem. If you only have one key it's a good idea to save it for your first Skloas kill.

Other stuff is also true but it's going out the window when 2.0 patch hits today.

Treasure keys are used to open the big loot chest at the end of any PoE for a queen's weapon, some mats and a shot at an exotic.

You are only guaranteed 1 per week per account (not character), by turning in your first Queen's bounty that week. You can earn more by completing all her bounties and getting a package (chance at a key, not guaranteed), or by opening ether chests in patrol (chance at a key), or by opening the small chests at the end of PoE runs (chance at a key).

Doesn't matter which difficulty you run in terms of better loot. A 28 chest can drop the same stuff as a 35 except for the fact that the 35 will reward you with the Skolas ship, shader and emblem if you haven't obtained those yet (not all will drop at the same time anymore though).

Edit: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND beaten

Excited to come home tonight and learn about all the changes. I'm not following the game closely at all right now, so I probably still don't know about a bunch of stuff.

Implying that e.g. ToO 9 - 0 requires skill when getting carried or just get lucky and get matched against teams way below yours skill level.

lmao at the idea that trials success was skill and not thorn based

I guess I don't understand your complaint about ToO rewards excluding people then. If it's just luck or "of course, Thorn", then it's not exclusionary at all. All I meant was that it's good for gear to be locked behind specific content.

Edit: And like others have said, just because someone has a Thorn doesn't mean they will automatically win. A great player can win with almost any weapon.

Today is the day, friends!

Played a final evening of Control last night and just chucked every time I was killed by a shotgun/Thorn user.

SOON.

yeah you're right, and hard to get weapons are basically what ocean was describing earlier, a true testament to a skilled player

but weren't the weapons better than like any other legendary?
