Ni-Oh gameplay (PS4) - It's Dark Souls x Onimusha x Ninja Gaiden

It looks like loot based game, you can see items drop which have different colors. On the other hand, it required you always evade and block since enemies could kill you in 2 or 3 hits. Love what i saw so far, will keep eyes on it

I'm really interest in this game, I just hope it's not as hard as the Soul series, because I love that series but I can't "enter" the game properly (too much dedication required)

Yeah, you can see the influences of various of games. Just glad it's not a straight up Souls clone, getting worned out by that series at this point.

That must be the Souls engine, right?

It looks through and through to be a souls game, with a little more flair.

That's very much what it looks like to me... enough so that I'd say if you like Souls go for it, but if you don't like Souls stay away... it looks far too similar.

Yeah me too I hope it's not ridiculously hard.

I'm all up for challenging gameplay but if this can hit that Onimusha or Ninja Gaiden sweet spot I'll be happy.

I've been stuck on Bloodborne's second boss for ages but it's due to time constraints, honest ;)

Animations look a bit stiff, as I thought from the reveal trailer. Not crazy about damage numbers popping up either.

Looks a lot like Onimusha to me minus the Issens. Last game of this type I played was Genji 2 all the way back at PS3 launch. It's long overdue. Shame that Capcom has no faith in the Onimusha IP although the last game in the series does bring everything to a close.

Not really. It has stances, familiar power summons and orb absorption (Onimusha), not something in the Souls series. Different enough for me to check this game out.

The one thing I don't like is how movement seems to have somewhat proper weight to it but then the guy takes the sword out and suddenly he moves like he's Ryu from Ninja Gaiden. He's too fast and dashes around. I wish his attacks were slower/heavier.

Still looks good enough though.

I dont really I like that he is fast.

This looks really fun, definitely gonna keep an eye on it. I wonder whether there's a character editor or if we can only play as the Geralt-alike.

yes, I really liked Soul-series art direction, atmosphere and so on, but I don't have that time to dedicate to a single game anymore. in fact I still have to get Bloodborne (waiting for a sale).
This one excite me, but I hope to be "able" to fully enjoy it.

Heh I just like fast combat every now and then.

That's fine. I just felt a bit of a disconnect, but thinking back of Onimusha games I don't think they were that slow in combat. I mean, Samanosuke is not Dante, but he has a few fast moves, so I guess this shouldn't be too bad.

I'm still looking forward to it. Game looks good enough.

As someone who's only played Demon's Souls (and found it confusing as hell. Seriously.), I'm hyped for this game now.

Edit: but I still want a new Onimusha :(

Orb absorption is more Ninja Gaiden than anything else. Hope this game has some depth to it as far as not combat mechanics go. I love the Dark Souls and Bloodborne series but I personally feel like it could benefit from additional not combat mechanics.

also the movement animations need some work.
