NBA 2K16 |OT| This Time With Less Cheese

EB Games put the Jordan edition for my pre-order instead of the regular edition. I kept it since I'd be paying exactly the same as the regular edition after my trade-ins.
But when I opened the packaging, I realized how pointless it all is - I don't really care about the exclusive stuff. Kind of regret not going back to swap it out with the regular edition now. Oh well.
Game looks good, but I haven't had the chance to really play it other than two quarters of Cavs/Warriors while it was installing on my PS4 and a little bit of Livin Da Dream (gonna restart this anyway). Having not played 2K15 in months and grinding on MGS V all month, I definitely need a refresher on controls again.

What's the fastest way to get vc for career? Should I play my first season on rookie so my contract is really big? That's what I'm thinking is the most efficient thing over playing hard difficulty to scrap more early vc but ending up with a smaller contract. You really don't get any badges till the first 8 NBA games are over?

Been trying to play My Player since finally getting the game to fully copy the game and now I can't connect to their servers. WTF is the point of early release if we can't play?
What are you playing it on? The MyPark servers have been great for me (on PS4), I have got on the Park today so Im not sure how its going now. The MyPlayer Store is another story though.
Also uping the game speed to 53-54 makes it feels sooo much better
It ends after your rookie NBA season, which is 8 games long.

I'm even playing teams with the worst rated defense and still the CPU is just set to always play the perfect defense.
You take the ball past half court?...CPU has their defender right on you like glue the split second you go over
You want to size up your defender?...CPU never bites on it and just stays glued on you (and they can blow past you every time when they are on offense)
You put the ball in the post?...CPU defender stays on you no matter if you try to spin out, dropstep, etc
You want to set a screen?...CPU brushes it off and is never out of place
You want to run a set play?...CPU always has their guys in the right spot no matter the plays you set up
oh...and if you miss a shot the CPU goes right down the court for an easy layup every time while the few times they miss they seem to always have their guys back to defend perfectly to deny any fastbreak chances. The fact I can't even seem to hit a 2-foot shot to save my life doesn't help either. CPU drains shots left and right while I'm missing all the time even when I take wide open shots.
I'm never good but on Pro it shouldn't be THIS bad

I was never a big fan of having to play with only one player. I love distributing the ball and padding my superstar's stats. Is it the same?

that says a code is needed...only problem is the locker code they gave out was for 2K15...not 2K16
and the pre-order content says installed on Steam but won't show up in game....all in all a big clusterf*

PS4 and only My Player. Tried getting in 5 different times. Still can't.
Lol That happen to me once, but I thought it was just some animation glitching up, didnt know it could be replicated

I don't have these problems why, because I know the personnel. 2. there aren't that many guys that can blow by you in the league. 3. Angles, know when you have the angle and beat him.
Play basketball, take what the D gives you, run some plays, learn some of the freelance offenses. Go to practice and find a dribble combo that fits your guys handles, not all handles are created equally.

Took 35 mins total to install on my roommates x1. Do you have a slow dl speed? There was a 2gb patch when he did it

man the story was completely awful and skippable completely but i just finished game 6 and the long scene after that was really good. idk why it took so long to develop an interesting conflict, but that was finally something interesting. oh well only 2 more games until i can start working on badges which i think are usually the biggest difference maker when you play park games and such.

Tried out face scanning from myself for the PS4. It got it horribly wrong, but goddamn it's hilarious. I'm keeping this guy, Mardy Abdul-Jabbar. A man who was dropped 15 times as a baby yet will become an NBA legend. A 7'0" PF. I'm starting to make up my own stories about how he got his face deformed and this is a Hollywood story waiting to happen!

Not slow at all.. very fast internet... this is by far the longest install I have ever had. Worried my drive is going out for the second time if it installed in 35 min for someone else. Going on 3 hours and its maybe 70% done.

2K store doesn't work. To the point where accessories are stuck on my player.
I got AD. The trifold thing inside looks like it would just cover the athlete part, so you could probably put it with curry facing out to cover up the Harden. You'll miss out on the tacky badges though

How's the game so far on the PS4? Pretty close to just going to Best Buy and picking it up.
On the court play is much better than the last few years. 2k15 mypark was nothing but zigzag 3's and 7fters that do everything.
I agree 100%. I am 6"9 PF can not hit lay ups two foot hooks and refuses to dunk in games.
Got a great defence bonus defending a shot on the perimeter, then nailed for allowing a offensive rebound and defensive breakdown! Not sure how that worked.
The presentation is absolutely amazing though, and with some practice and maybe a tinker with some sliders this could be my favourite basketball game ever. Who else does good tutorials on YouTube?

Is Best Buy not supposed to be doing that? They were about to give me shit about something when I waltzed in to buy it last night, but by the time a manager came over it was already payed for, so I just walked on out before they tried to pull something.

I'm new to modern basketball games. The lure of Spike Lee and those 2K trailers was enough for me to finally decide to dive in and learn to play one. Also, gives me an excuse to follow the sport again.
So i start on My Career Mode.
Found four video tutorials in the options menu under 2K University. Shooting, Dribbling. Passing. My Team. Each was mildly helpful, but seemed totally ineffective when I was actually playing. The game doesn't give you the instruction/example/you try to execute. It's just video.
There's NOTHING for defense. No idea what I'm doing. At all.
Also, when i get the ball, my teammates just want to pass to Freak...no matter how dangerous the situation is. Can I even control another player??
And the loading. Wow. What's with all this loading? There's loading for everything. The last time I played a basketball game (2k10??), I don't remember having to let the game know when to break a cutscene to come back to player control. Finish a quarter? Watch the camera slooooooooooooowly creep into the audience until YOU hit the button to say, "Hey! let's play!" Or, just let it go and it'll keep creeping in until finally the game starts back up.
Free throw shooting time? The game certainly doesn't let you know when you can free throw. It's such a weird thing.
Anyway, odd first impression. Bought it so I'm stuck with it, but I was ready to really dig in and learn how to play.
The directing/writing during the cut scenes is cool. Dialogue definitely feels Spike-Lee like, which i appreciate. However, Spike's new to the whole videogame world, and some of the camera work is VERY awkward and forced because of it.

Was going to hold off on this game for a while but after watching some streams and seeing all those customization options I needed it. Wasn't sure if I was going to be able to get a copy until Tuesday but walked into Gamestop and walked out with a copy no questions asked.
