*waits for relist of MvC and Konami X-Men*
despite the fact I own them
Don't get your hopes up for X-Men getting put back up given....recent events. As for MvC3, as stated before, that depends on if Capcom is willing to pay the license renewal fee since, unlike Activision, Capcom's contract expired.

Marvel vs Capcom 4 confirmed!!!
It's possible, but I'm not sure if Capcom has the funds to get another Marvel contract going.

so you're telling me

MAHVEL IS GETTING PATCHED?
Remember, Capcom isn't exactly in the best financial shape right now. While Activision only had to talk things out with Marvel, Capcom needs to pay to renew their Marvel license (which expired instead of getting revoked, by the way).

Oh man Ultimate Alliance is a fantastic game! I hope this means we will be seeing a next gen release of some sort or perhaps compatibility with the XB1 (and rumored PS4) backwards compatibility.

What happened exactly? I thought Capcom was in better shape with them than Activision was...

Listen to me, Microsoft:

Put these two as the GwG October games instead of the nonsense of repeating Xbox One stuff, and make it BC.

C'mon.

They are, but the nature of UMvC3's removal was different. Capcom's issue is that the contract expired as a result of Capcom not renewing said contract, so they have to pay up to get the game back on PSN/XBLA. Capcom's games were never revoked like Activision's were.

Metroidvania

People called Romanes they go the house?
Ultimate Alliance 1 was a guilty pleasure, even if I couldn't get past the opening act of 2, but.....

40 bucks each?

Wat.

We can still hope for the fabled MUA 3, right?

Come to think of it, whatever happened to that "Spider-Man vs. Marvel Zombies" game from a long time ago?

That being said, if Street Fighter V is a success, that may convince Capcom that talking with Marvel for MvC4 would be a profitable decision. That being said, I doubt that Capcom would use their funds to get UMvC3 back online. Maybe a UMvC3 remaster for PS4 if Sony is willing to pitch in, but that's it.

But if MvC4 happens, I hope you're prepared to lose a good chunk of the Marvel side.

I wonder if Marvel/Capcom regret not releasing more games to take advantage of the immense Marvel/Avengers hype in 2012-2014. Capcom dicked UMvC3 badly, but a year delay+more improvement would've released dead on with Avengers 1 and spaced it out from the initial MvC3 release.

I doubt Capcom had that much power to make too many games at that point, let alone push for a Super/Arcade/Ultra/etc. model for MvC3 in the first place (that same model biting them in the ass, eventually).

Capcom wasn't allowed to release UMvC3 too close to Avengers 1 since Marvel had that first-person Avengers tie-in game scheduled for then. The ironic part was that said tie-in was cancelled. Plus UMvC3 was only a thing because the tsunami at the time messed up Capcom's schedule.

Hmm, wasn't there a ton of dlc characters for both games? I remember Juggernaut being a removed dlc..

Hope it does show up on PSN and Steam too! Although, the price is a little too high for me.

$40 is pretty ridiculous assuming these aren't touched up for modern hardware in any way. IIRC, 2 was the better game but it never came to pc, which makes me think it won't be coming to Steam. They'll probably re release the original on Steam though. If it was available on XB1, I'd probably still pass unless they have it running at 60 fps.

Not a ton but I think the first game got 2 packs of characters maybe one, and the second got one pack + Juggs as a pre-order/separate character.

If they ever did an UMVC3 remaster I'd bet on Steam. But they won't.

Marvel specifically said no to (U)MvC3 on PC in fear of modders messing with the Marvel characters.

Hopefully this leads to the Capcom games being relisted so I can buy MvC3 digitally and also have my Pin fucking working for Ultimate.
