SteamSpy Sales Results for September 2015

Kind of blows my mind that many people are still BUYING Counter Strike. I've always accepted that a huge amount of people play it but it's just weird to imagine 500,000 new people a month getting on board. I rarely ever buy old online games just because you're so far behind the curve.

I did no such thing, just didn't exclude titles leaving Early Access or ones with some preexisting owners.
Here's the list for new releases only, all games that had more than 10k sales. Updated the OP as well:

Steam ownership changes between 01.09.2015 and 01.10.2015 for games released in September:

Code:
18). FINAL FANTASY V (13,605, price $15.99)

so how's that in top 15? explain yourself!

I just noticed Shower With Your Dad Simulator 2015
what's wrong with you people?

Strange, Steamspy (today) says that Undertale is at 50k and Soma is at 52k.

Anyway, nice to see both of them doing well. Word of mouth is helping Undertale immensely. Such an amazing game.

If you sort SteamSpy results by starting ownership number (so, games with 0 owners will be first), which I did at work, FFV is #14. This excludes some titles, like SOMA or Armello though. So, yeah. Sorry.
Still 13k sales too much for this shitport IMO.

a good amount are smurfs/a multiple account someone uses to get drops (there was a new case this past month selling for a decent value)

Anyway good for MGS5. Rest of the list is pretty underwhelming.

Undertale is benefitting greatly from word of mouth it seems based on its ownership chart. I hope it ends up being a huge success for Toby when all is said and done.

funny that you mention it because it doesn't

you know I can't post shower dad screens or I will be banned, but c'mon

Much better than that sorry excuse for a port called FFV

I always find it funny the 'SERIOUS PEOPLE ARE YOU REALLY BUYING THIS', like, you know, everyone does what they want with their money?

There's really no point in listing things under 30k sales. Galyonkin himself says that data under 30k is very unreliable.

For you.
Shower with your Dad Simulator is a pretty fun and crazy game.
Its also 1$ . The outrage and surprise at it is pretty dumb.

I like how half of steam community keeps raving about tons of shitty games getting on steam and other half keeps buying them and upvoting them on greenlight, it's constant war out there. I'm just tired of it, I guess

OTOH, let's leave FF5 alone for a minute, so many good games underperform on steam because there is such an influx of new games that nobody except Jasec can keep up, and yet we get a joke game outsell almost all of them and nobody thinks it's strange? because you know, it totally is.

edited: it'd not the first time too, it was the same with NOGTAV, Bad Rats, you name it

Yeah, totally weird a 1$ game outselling games that are a shitload of times more expensive.

Thanks for posting these, Knurek. Always interesting information; wish we could get close to as much discussion as NPD threads.

Nice to see MGSV and Mad Max off to a good start, and some of the evergreens like DS2 continuing to put in work. Rocket League, too. That thing is a monster.

From the videos i've seen it's quite silly and i would never buy it/play it, but you know, it's definitely a game and clearly took some effort.

Fuck NOTGTAV, though. I'm pretty sure it's out of the store, no?

No, still there and it absolutely is a game too. I know because I completed it a few times and even laughed once or twice. Part of the problem.
