Pokémon no Uchi is a Sunday variety show for children. Originally, it was called Pokémon Sunday, then Pokémon Smash, then Pokémon Get TV. Unlike those though, it only ran for 30 mins while the others ran for an hour. The difference is that said other half-an-hour is a re-run of a random anime episode, while Pokénchi has none (instead the 30 mins is replaced with Princess Sophia, so yeah if you want to watch Sophia in Japanese go enjoy!).

I don't think he made an announced appearance with a trivial announcement (I think the only disappointing news was a shiny? And even then it was during a peak of a new game, so it didn't matter). However, we are in due time for this announcement.

While they he explicitly mentioned when this episode will air, it will most likely air after XY&Z's premiere, which is next week. So maybe three to four weeks from now. The upcoming Pokénchi episode even focuses on "the favorite scenes in the anime" because this week is the last episode of XY.

So uh... Z hype?

Pokemon ORAS was pretty bare post-game contentwise so I have high hopes they're saving the best for last with Z. Hell, maybe we'll finally get our Battle Frontier equivalent in this game.

Black & White weren't announced in a TV show. But B&W2 were first unveiled on Pokemon Smash, though.

Pansage was first shown in Sunday. As was Zoroark's silhouette, starter silhouettes etc.

New game announcements are what typically don't come, but did with B2W2.

Would an episode summary really confirm that a new game will be revealed though? Sounds like it'd defeat the purpose of the surprise

It typically shows that there's news. It'd say something like "Junichi Masuda appears with the latest information" or say what he's doing there.

Do note they tend not to "surprise" on these things. They give a heads up that something is coming, just don't say what.
