1. Streets of Rage 2; My most played game ever, I beat it at least 2 or 3 times a year. Best beat-em-up of all time.
2. Shinobi 3; I only played it for the first time last year and it was amazing.
3. Sensible Soccer; Automatically makes the list for any system that has a decent version of it.
4. Streets of Rage 1
5. Revenge of the Shinobi
6. Sonic 2
7. Micro Machines 96; Had hours of fun creating tracks. All the MM games where great to play. Kudos to Codemasters for the extra joypad ports in the cart feature too.
8. Golden Axe 2; It may not be the "Revenge of Death Adder" GA2 but I prefer it to the first game.
9. Street Fighter II: Champion Edition; I'm weird and like it better then SNES Turbo as I prefer the music.
10. Comix Zone

Sonic 3 and Knuckles would have made the list if it was counted as one complete game. Separately they just miss out on the top 10.

Haven't played many third party Genesis games since my experience with the console has been through compilation games, but I've enjoyed plenty of games on those compilations and even bought a Model 2 with a Sega CD recently so I hope to experience more games in the future.

There are some amazing honerable mentions and I was really torn on the Sonic and Thunder Force choices. All mainline sonics are great exploration platformers and the S&K choice was somewhat arbitrary. Ditto for the Thunder Force choice as I really enjoy TF2 as well.

I was a huge Thunder Force fan when I first acquired a Sega Genesis. Shooters man, shooters.

In no particular order: Shadowdancer, Revenge of Shinobi, Streets of Rage trilogy, Thunderforce 2, 3, and 4, Air Buster, Sonic Trilogy (1,2,3,knuckles and every variation), Ghouls and Ghosts, Midnight Resistance, Strider, so many arcade ports.. Damn I love the Genesis.
