Sure, but in CE there were different completely different loot tables at Crota (and maybe other parts? Don't remember). With King's Fall the NM drops are literally inferior versions of HM drops; outside of maybe OCD collecting there is zero practical reason why you would ever want a normal mode drop over a hard mode drop unless I'm totally spacing on something.

Yeah that's fair. When they made NM version of the gear, they inadvertently put an expiration date on them, didn't they?

Uh, actually Goth's fans came in spouting racial slurs because he didn't get world first again.

It was a pretty gross thing all the way around.

I was watching Goth's stream at the time and Goth's chat started telling him that ValleyRam was talking a lot of trash, looking to get Goth riled up. He immediately said that he's not about trash talking and when some in Goth's chat suggested that they raid Valley's, Goth told them not to.

So more than likely the whole thing was instigated by Viewers and I'd be willing to bet it's not *any* streamers actual fans. Just people trolling and trying to start a bunch of drama and bs.

I still haven't played the original King's Fall Raid, so I doubt I'll get to Hard Mode anytime soon. I've said previously, that I won't attempt King's Fall until I get to 300, and I'm fairly close to that.

I ran it at 285 and was fine. Did it last night at 293 and was even more fine.

- Happy birthday to the birthday people!
- HM seems... reasonable. I hope it's more enjoyable than HM CE, which I hated to the point of essentially not playing until HoW removed the level handicap.

Yes, and in the previous 2 raids there was no difference in light level drops. We used to get guaranteed light off our armor piece, and now we have the mechanic is 300-310 for normal, 310-320 for hard. Completely different ball game. Everything has changed, so why should this be any different? You're livin in the past man!

As a player, I'm interested in making the players life easier.

People complain about getting shit drops now. 2x HM drops would double you chances each week at getting the light level gear you're looking for.

If you're against that, you might also think that the SC, Motes, and weapon part reduction was a benefit to the player base somehow.

[Elemental] Primaries? I don't think so.

So what's the point of running hard mode then?

Previous Hard raids had interesting loot. The Vault of Glass had guns so good they broke the sandbox. Crota's End had elemental primaries. Skolas held exotic quests.

The Hardmode loot for King's Fall is just a paint job & higher light? That *only* benefits you for doing the raid, and maybe a bit in Trials?

Hardmode loot before: helped you everywhere across the game.
Hardmode loot now: helps you with Hardmode only

Disappointed that the utility is so narrow.

Maybe tomorrow night, not sure yet.

I'm sort of trying to lay off the games this weekend so my girlfriend isn't pissed when I play Halo 5 all day Tuesday. Haha.

I'll let you know if I'm going to.

lol, sounds good. And smart move.

This right here is the base form of everything I hate about certain pockets of the Destiny community. It's all about making the players life easier and faster. These are the type of people that find the glitch spot and cheese a nightfall rather than play it out. These are the people that, in LFG, require maxed gjallays, so they can burn a boss immediately. It's not about how much fun or challenging it is, but how easy or quick it is.

I think it's dumb that someone would feel entitled to double drops in hardmode because they did less work in a week, yet that somehow means I think economy nerfs make sense too? Laughable. You can complain about RNG or how drops fall, but feeling like people deserve the ability to get 2x of the exact same drop because they skipped normal is ridiculous.

Glad my group always does the 6 pool method. We're rarely in a pool for longer than that debuff anyway. We'll coast through that. We were talking about how one pool method was going to hang groups, but looks like they didn't completely do away with the method, just made it harder.

Agreed. Seems like a big disappointment; doesn't give me any incentive to do hard mode.

again, this is likely why there are going to be challenge modes.

So... just got off work. My Destiny PvE days are over (still really enjoy PvP), but is there anything different about HM that makes it more worthwhile to run for those interested? I'm curious.

Any elemental primaries, raid specific exotics such as Vex or Necro? Or just higher light of the same items?

Right, that's why I'm guessing we are missing something. Because if not, there is 0 reason to ever run hard mode, at least more than once.

Exactly. KF's was already getting old to me once it was on farm status.

The fact that the only difference between the loot from NM and HM is 10 light levels I'm way less interested in running and it's unlikely to keep my interest for long.

Xur was kind. 310 Alchemist and Voidfang! I'll probably use the Alchemist for infusion and keep Voidfang. Really happy to have the Skull back in year 2 as well. It's been my favorite voidwalker exotic for a long time now. There's nothing I hate more than getting killed mid-void bomb, and with that I can tank golden gun shots and fist of havoks. Maybe I can finally counter Sunbreaker titans.

310+ infusion fuel to get that light level number higher? That's why we all play this game right? Right?
