Yup. More people need to see this. Lots of footage at an extended time. But I feel this video and post will largely go ignored.

That footage looked A LOT better.

Honestly... at this point there's so much conflicting information, I just feel like people need to try the game on their own.

Like I, for example, had maybe 2 crashes and one backwards flying dragon after +450 hours of Skyrim on the 360.

I actually had a lot more crashes once I played it on PC (which I bought in December of 2012 with a GTX 680 4gb V-Ram for a frame of reference).

These games are historically unstable, and some fare better than others. Heck I heard a PC guy the other day talk about how his Playthrough of Arkham Knight was totally steady and the game only ever dropped below 60 fps a few times during all his sessions.

Of course... this isn't an excuse for those who do have problems, and there will be more than just a few, but I think we should wait till release to really go balls to the wall against Bethesda and see their response to the criticisms.

I recently got the holiday bundle and was planning on opening it on Tuesday when fallout 4 comes out, but the performance on the console versions has me worried. Have you guys tried installing the game first, ps4 and xb1 users? This made new vegas run better on the 360.

Here's an hour of HD gameplay footage from the PS4 version...not linking this in case Bethesda ninjas are watching. Quote to reveal.

Looks solid to me.

edit: not seeing any hitching like the OPs vids so far.

I really wish this video could be added to the OP. But I understand why it can't right now.

Yeah, seems fine to me as well.

Was going to say it looked fine to me too until it started hitching like crazy at 47:40. Whenever he starts to shoot the game just tanks.

Can you even do that on ps4 other than the mandatory install files?

That's not a thing anymore.

Correct me if i'm wrong but didn't most (all?) Bethesda games run better on 360 > PS3 last gen?
Completely different systems. The vast majority of last gen PS3 games were Xbox ports that didn't run as well. On top of that, ps4 versions of just about everything have been consistently better than the Xbox counterpart.

OP is fighting the good fight. Issues exist and this will all be a moot point after reviews tomorrow. Digital Foundry article is going to be a bloodbath.

Didn't Pete Hines say Fallout 4 was "basically done" back in July?
So they've had almost 5 months to make the game run as smooth as possible, and they still release it in this state.
Really wish I hadn't pre-ordered it.

My feelings exactly. There's no excuse for releasing the game in this state given how the game looks, the hardware they have, and the comments they've made.

Again maybe I just can't see it. But where you saw it "tanking" looked perfectly playable to me. Not saying there aren't any drops but what I'm seeing isn't ruining the game.

I can easily handle the load times, and the frame drops that OP displayed, but the ridiculously low framerate that the game drops to when scoped in during that clip... that will bug me.

I need to hear about the XB1 version, since that's the one I'm getting.
