‘Fallout 4’ delivers the best ever launch week for the series while becoming the third biggest launch of 2015 so far.

Bethesda’s second No1 of the year (The Elder Scrolls Online was the other) is behind only the familiar faces of ‘Fifa 16’ and ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops III’ for debut week unit sales. With Microsoft securing a timed exclusive for the title sales lean heavily toward Xbox One with 85% over Xbox 360’s 15% share.

Telltale Games’ ‘Minecraft Story Mode’ (+6%) climbs a place to No5 and delivers impressive week on week growth over its debut launch figure in its third week. EA’s ‘Need for Speed’ (-62%) drops three places to No6 in its second week. Sega’s ‘Football Manager 2016’ for PC lands at No7 just ahead of a resurgent ‘Lego Dimensions’ (+49%), which climbs a place to No8 thanks to retailer promotions. Former chart toppers ‘Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate’ (-39%) and ‘Halo 5: Guardians’ (-50%) are down to No9 and No10 in their fourth and third weeks on the All Formats Chart. Elsewhere in the Top 40 another PC title makes its mark with Blizzard’s ‘StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void’ landing at No23.

I can't tell if the disparity between TR sales on X1 and 360 is shocking or not. Obviously it would sell more on the newer console considering marketing and etc... but still 15% seems really low for a console with such a huge player base like the 360.

Rise of the Tomb Raider < 63,000 (Tomb Raider debuted selling around 183,000 units)

The install base practically don't matter at this point. The larger audience for a large majority of games have "moved on"

Call of Duty had the same/worse ratio just last week.

Nice numbers for Fallout 4! BO3 showing better legs nice. Star Wars is next week right? It's going to be interesting to see SW numbers in comparison to CoD and Fallout.

No way S-E thought sales would slump that much going exclusive. Doubt they charged MS near enough.

Its not going to get better launching a year later on PS4.

Utter catastrophe.

Oh well... Fallout 4 Sales are impressive. Nearly 500k is MASSIVE.

Tomb Raider around what i expected.

CoD dropped is really fine, way better than AW. About Halo... Well, another 50% drop is bad. I expected better legs.

Fallout is a beast.

I don't think the TR number is too bad, it's not great either and it's lower than I thought, but considering the circumstances & that it only came out on Friday here it could have been much worse.

Halo 5 in 3 weeks is still under 200k at retail, it seem... I wonder if Halo 5 in 2015 will Sell what Halo 3 Sold First week ( 370k ).

Even with bundles Fallout 4 sells more on Ps4 than Xbox1?

Incredible how a sequel to a relatively well received game debuts with less than half than his predecessor sales.

So Uncharted 2 and 3 were 84k and 116k respectively looking back. Rise of doesn't seem bad but not great either but I guess some will point to crowded month and low install base.

Lets hope MS paid enough to offset the drop. Looking forward to the PC release and really enjoy these single player games.

Shame. Such a fantastic game. Could have used a bigger ad campaign though.

Tomb Raider, when exclusive deals go bad. Who didn't see this coming though going up against Fallout 4. Many of us called this months ago when MS decided to release Tomb Raider on Fallout 4 day.

Launching later on ps4 and PC won't make up the difference. Poor CD, gets screwed by Square.

Yeah, I'm sure they're not regretting the future damage that'll be done to the franchise.

Even if SE didn't lose money on this particular game, if sales are this poor in every other region, it could hurt sales for the next title in the franchise. Depending on how badly it sells in the US, I could see Square-Enix either making a very strong marketing push when the title releases on the PC and the PS4 (more than you'd expect for a 6 month/12 month late port) or give away copies of the game when the sequel comes out with Games with Gold or PS Plus. Hell, maybe even both.

It's still coming out on PC and its still coming out on PS4 eventually. Launching it now is a bad time even if it was on all consoles. But if they launch it on PS4 next year with all the DLC thrown in at $40 I don't think it'll hurt the brand in the grand scheme of things.

Don't worry guys, I'm sure Fable Legends will pack a big punch to make up for the current sales of the "Best Line-up in XBOX history".

The big surprise is that a Bethesda game sells worse on XBOX.

Well it is only on xbox this time around and IIRC there was a 70/30 split between TR:DE on next gen consoles, when you take that into consideration & that Fallout 4 came out a few days earlier it doesn't sound too bad. Still not great numbers obviously, but not terrible all things considering either.
