FAST Racing Neo out this week (still a December release)

Quite unexpected. Should be really exciting for those who want the game!

Hopefully this gets a lot of promotion on the eShop. Seems like the kind of game that deserves it.

Awwww yea!! This is soo bought. Going to consider this my F-Zero dream game of yore. Also perfect timing, as I wait for Xenoblade to be released in dec.

Thanks Shinen! Been a long time fan since the Iridion days ;)

I dont believe this. They literally had a direct four days ago that said December. Why would they change it to November 19th now, three days before release? Do they want as little sales as possible?

Yeah, it might be a mistake and December to be actually the most up to date info, but don't worry about the date, just download and watch the trailer.

I really wanna know the inner workings of what and how this game is running the way it is... it's so impressive from a technical standpoint.

Anyway, I hope a demo comes out because I'm highly skeptical on the handling of vehicles, I've seen far too many gameplay videos where players have been bashing into walls.

Yep, pretty sure it's December. Wait until Shin'en says other wise.
The game is super impressive, I know they don't want to get bought out but Nintendo should collab with them on some titles or at least let them use the blue falcon unlocked via the amiibo.
Their games look really spectacular for an indie studio on a Nintendo console, but their gameplay suffers a bit like in Jett Rocket 3DS which...is kind of awful. Art of touch and nano assault is good, though

They're probably replacing the trailer with the December date since Nov 19 was wrong.... not sure why everyone was ignoring everything we heard before. They weren't going to say December in the Direct and then just have it come out on Thursday.

I suspect they're doing something similar to Killzone Shadowfall multiplayer - would explain the 'interlaced' artefacts everywhere.

The F-Zero curse is starting to take effect on FAST Racing Neo and it will release never! /s

Wait, I can't tell! Is it tomorrow / this week / or next month???

Since the trailer was taken down we can conclude that it will come on early december as stated on last week's Nintendo direct.

GODDAMN this game looks good!!

I honestly think this game will hold its own in the next-gen racing thread. Can't wait until it comes out!

The game looks amazing, especially considering that it's a Wii U title and looks this good and smooth. Gameplay also looks tight, F-Zero GX style.

These devs need the support, that's the kind of games that the industry needs more of. I will buy. Can't wait!

What a beauty! The game looks gorgeous in motion, but those screenshots are pure art.

Wait, is this game 1080p? I know it's 60 fps, but I assumed it was 720p. If the game is 1080p, holds 60 fps, and looks that good...Shin'en are even more amazing than I thought. Hopefully the game is fun.

I hope one day Nintendo's support of them goes beyond promotion. I've love if they helped build/shared developer tools for Nintendo systems or got a few more staff members and put out games more frequently.

I can't wait to see what they do on the next round of hardware.

Shin'en is a long-time specialist on Nintendo hardware, and they use their own toolkits. It's a team that has also worked together for a very long time, and they have their roots in the PC demo scene.

Based on their interviews, they are probably the indie developer that has gone the deepest in their knowledge of both the GPU and CPU capabilities.

Another thing is that Nano Assault Neo was apparently pretty unoptimized and running on only one CPU core, while FRN is highly optimized (and presumably running multi-core). In FRN, they seem to use VSync+triple buffering to handle any stalling issues that might appear.

Most developers nowadays (regardless of platform) never do the optimization work that Shin'en does. (Other developers want their code to be easily portable and blame the hardware instead.)

Yes! How many gigs and how much!?!

Storage-wise, the Shin'en games are usually very small, specially compared to Unity-based games.

Wait, is this game 1080p? I know it's 60 fps, but I assumed it was 720p.

It's 720p/60fps. They said they could render it for 1080p, but they would have to remove so many effects to get it to work that the end result wasn't worth it.

Ah, ok, that makes sense. I guess they're tech wizards, not real wizards. :p Thanks!

I hope they get an NX dev kit soon.

Looking at the trailer, I'm not even convinced it's 720p. Looks like they're doing something strange with the resolution. It can look extremely chunky though the game is still beautiful.

Also curious about the combing artefacts. Hoping that's just an issue with the video.
