Super Star Wars coming to PSN this week - Crossbuy for PS4/Vita

Just so people know, there was a cancelled Super Star Wars PC port. I would wager that it likely served as a based rather than the SNES version, but who knows what still exists code-wise. A leak of the game exists.

Also I saved the game on PS4, then started a new game on Vita. I paused, hit Load Game, and it loaded my PS4 save!

Buy this game.

Well if he used a blaster there would have been Tauntaun bits everywhere.

Wasn't sure on the Cross Save because it give you no message but that is awesome. Explains why the Vita tried to get on the network.

Does this game have cheat codes? I'll buy it if I can turn on infinite lives or something.

Nothing for code input.

So any info to share? Is it just the SNES version full screen with a new title screen?
Stoked to play, shocked its $10

when does EU get it?

Who knows. There was a blog post about it over the weekend indicating that it was due out this week but its been all quiet ever since... Kinda annoyed as I was looking forward to getting the EU version on my Vita. I'm hoping it'll turn up this week maybe in time for Battlefront but that's just wishful thinking on my part.

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
does the game have save states?

I have vivid memories of playing this at my grandmothers house on my uncles SNES, I have no memories of actually beating the first level. Same goes for all of the Super Star Wars games.

The first time I played Super Star Wars my uncle who bought it and the SNES for me said "I bet you can't beat the first level", and I did on my first try.

I then got stuck on on the sand crawler level for 3 months until a classmate told me to jump on the tracks:lol

Amazing game.

It has one save anywhere slot. You can reload as much as you want from the slot.

Ohh so Jedi mode can be done with no problems at all if we use this right?

Just started it up. This game is definitely faster.

Not sure how I feel about that yet. Would have been nice to have an original slowness option I guess.

Okay I hate this.

I died inside the sandcrawler. The lack of original slowdown breaks the game.

It took me 20 tires to slide through one of the force fields and at the part with the squisher things your slide takes you too far and you stop sliding under the next one and take damage. GAH!

Let me try again.

I remember how impossibly hard this game was and I think I'll leave it to childhood memories. Cool that they are releasing it though in the runup to The Force Awakens.

Here are some of the video options:

God those dive bombing birds in the second pit jumping section respawn instantly. I don't know how I didn't die.

There are also several places I'm almost dying where I shouldn't even be low on health.

Yeah the lack of original slowdown breaks the game.

Edit: okay I'm getting 400 points for killing every regular womprat while fighting the giant mutant womprat and my 8x bonus I had earlier in the level is long ended. I've noticed a few tiny things along these lines already.

There were a couple of hatch things on the sand crawler I couldn't destroy too.

in case you havent made it past there yet

if you fire while sliding it cancels the slide and stops immediately, time the shot so you stop midway between the crushers

GAH this pisses me off so much.

Compiled list of broken aspects I've seen so far:

The main problem seems to be the original slowdown has been removed which unfortunately has wide ranging consequences

-projectile attacks are too fast to dodge
-enemies respawn too quickly(no reprieve from those dive bombing jerks while jumping across the pit before Obi Wan)
-inside the sandcrawler near the end where those things that squash you are, you slide too far and take damage from the next one no matter what
-I took a header into one of the force fields way too many times before it would let me through
-I landed in the spikes in Mos Eisley due to jumping down from the platform above somehow(not on purpose) and had my health drained in a nano second(was playing on Brave)

There are other problems I've noticed too:

-I fell in the lava while fighting the lava pit monster and didn't die(Although I do recall that did happen on occasion in the original)
99HO0Lv.gif

-You seem to keep your point bonus multiplier for the rest of a level. I got an 8x point bonus a couple times and it continued the rest of the level
-Thermal detonators didn't blow up the brown block things in Mos Eisley.
-This:

That's all I can think of right now. Mos Eisley is as far as I've been able to get without rage quitting.

Excuse my shitty gifs.

Edit: for reference, I did this earlier this year:

What difficulty are you having all this trouble on?

I'd be curious to see if this ends up on Steam. Remember that 20 years ago in 1995, the PC release was canceled by LucasArts. If it comes to PC, that's one heck of a delay!

Wonder if next we'll be complaining about the slowdown being removed on the upcoming Fallout 4 remaster on PS5/XB2.
Damn you smooth Corvega Factory!

Maybe on the same day that Battlefront comes out in EU? It came out in the US the same day as Battlefront's US date.
