Star Wars Battlefront: PS4 is outdoing Xbox and PC combined [in concurrency numbers]

if SW is almost 200k on Ps4, you better be sure that Fallout 4 and Black Ops 3 are at least double, maybe 3x.

Black Ops 3 on launch Ps4 should have done easy 700k+ or something like that.

Someone made a screenshot when a glitch appeared on screen can't seem to find it was around 800k people playing on PS4.

Black Ops 3 was 62k on PC at launch. CoD on PC is roughly what, 10 to 20 percent of overall sales? Yeah i think CoD is still way, way bigger than this.

Black Ops 3 first 3 days sold trough 550$m worth, that is what? 10 milion games?

Steam Spy had the game had ~250k on Pc for those first 3 days so not quite 20% i´d say.

I did not make that comment to say PC gamers have refined taste or anything. They buy the same garbage console gamers buy. It is just that PC versions of big AAA games that are available on consoles more or less always sell less.
Of course PC gamers and console gamers have different tastes, look at the sales of RTSs and strategy games between the platforms. Before you say "that's because there aren't enough of those games on console" please remember that XCOM is a thing and did indeed sell less on console.

Seems kind of low overall. Fallout 4 did over 400,000 concurrent users at launch on PC alone and Battlefront can't even match that on three platforms.

As I predicted.

New MP shooters for PC platform tend not to do well.

Can't really blame it on the "PC platform". This game is Origin only + 60$ + relatively low amount of content + $50 Season Pass + has no server browser... If the next Counter-Strike followed that model, you bet it would crash and burn too, old IP or not.

Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.
Wonder how that 13 million target is going.

Quiet off, but whatever, CoD is still bigger than anything anyone ever makes. Even the Star Wars brand can't overcome this.

As poorly as I've figured it would, is my guess. "It's Star Wars!" was never going to catapult this game to 13 million. It's going to make a real dent this holiday season, but I'm sticking to my guns that it's a good bit behind Call of Duty and Fallout and it doesn't touch 13 mill.

The only reason I haven't bought Battlefront is because I only really want to play PC games atm and I just don't want to give EA the satisfaction of having another user hop aboard the Origin train. Origin seems like another way for EA to cut out the middle man earn more money to line their already fat wallets. Glossing over the fact that the season pass for Battlefront is 49.99$, most games on Origin are several years old and rarely drop beneath 59.99$. Not to forget the 39.99$ expansion packs they sell for Sims 4, does anyone think they're worth the money?

I hope I'm not the only one that feels this way because if I am-

*Choo-choo!*
I guess I'm boarding the Origin hype train.

Xbox One has a 10 hr trial of Battlefront on EA Access so the numbers are highly inflated. The real numbers are probably in line with the PC version.

70,000 People still have trial hours left (and using them) after the trial started 9 days ago?

Was considering picking up for PC, maybe I should get the ps4 version instead?

40k is way more than enough to find matches fast. I'd stick with PC because it'll look and run better unless your rig is woefully underpowered. You'll also have the option of choosing between controller and KB/M instead of having controller only.

I expected the PC number to be much higher than that...

Its not bad for this kind of casual game. If you compare with BF4 right now wich has a peak the last 24 hours of 30.000. PC gamers are just more picky and maybe abit more "hardcore" gamers. Hardline got dropped very quick after the release because of not so good balance and very fast time to kill. PC gamers then just go back or dont buy it. Where console gamers just want something new and shiny and are oke with that. PC gamers also have just so much choice in these kind of games and ask for other things then just the new thing on the block and want mod support and server browser etc

If it had been $30 however...

"PC gamers are picker" goes out the window when you consider hundreds of thousands play the middling quality 3rd remake of a game with decades old gameplay.

Not anymore... Fallout 4 is sitting at a peak today of 256k (Steam), whereas Battlefront is sitting at 188k for the PS4 edition. Those 400k numbers were launch day which I imagine Battlefront's launch had larger numbers as well.

While Fallout 4 still had larger numbers, the gap isn't as big as that.

That's the same reason Valve created Steam. They just happened to do it first and successfully. Hate on EA for not putting stuff on Steam, but creating Origin is no different than what Valve did.

BF4 was a monster on PC, so yea it's somewhat surprising.

the only monster FPS on PC is Counter-Strike. Outdoing every version of this game combined easily.

40k is pretty bad for a release this big, but I didn't really expect much considering the lack of PC-esque features. My whole group I play with decided to pass on it for now, I don't see myself getting $60 worth out of Battlefront.

So you're saying that people wait to play their early access until the game is launched?

Black Ops was huge yeah and to think that Black Ops 2 was still played by 12 million people on PS3/Xbox 360 it shows that treyarch has something special than other CoD.

Can you find that peak? Fallout numbers should be super high aswell, maybe 700K on Ps4.

Honestly that split isn't really that impressive. PS4 has the marketing as well as multiple bundles for it and the split is only 1.6:1 even though the PS4 is outselling the XB1 roughly 2:1. I would've expected more given how the XB1 is doing WW and Halo 5 probably took a portion of the potential XB1 Battlefront userbase.

EA Access probably inflated the XB1 numbers a bit though. It would be nice to know how many subscribers there are to the service.

Bruh, now I know you're not shitting on Counter Strike.

Even if EA made the concessions, it has the LoL/Dota moba effect where people will stick to favorites like CS:GO.
