Desperately need a patch to fix random performance drops when venturing out from the Northwest portion of the map. I hate overlooking Diamond City at a perfect 60fps clip, but when I turn around and look at a locker I get dips into the 40's.

Looking at the changelog, I expected something far more substantial.

Don't change too much in one go or you risk breaking more and have a harder time figuring out what part broke it. They're making small changes in the beta patches, then firing everything off to public afterwards.

I agree with this method of patching

They might want to focus on fixing the bugs with main quest line first.

Might just be me, but the ones actively stopping people finishing the game seem important.

Gonna need to step up their game. That's a changelog for a game that's 500% less bug ridden than FO4 is.

Granted I'm not playing on PC (XboxOne), but I've ran into a super small amount of bugs, all of which were basically hilarious and fixed themselves.

Here's what I've seen.

-
Hancock's
face disappearing
- Weapons disappearing, but when swapping to another and back it reappears
- Brahmin on rooftops

And I think that's it. New Vegas was Waaaay more buggy at launch and I still loved it. Is PC far more bug ridden?

I played for some 50 hours and faced a couple of terminal bugs. Some provisioners/brahmin on top of rooftops and 1-2 buggy repeating quests.

Fixed the rooftop situation and the quests with console commands.

Overall, pretty good given what I was expecting.

Worst bugs I've encountered on the PC is Dogmeat getting stuck in doors that load either outside/inside areas, Caravan Brahmin with no sign of the Caravan operator and
Sturgess
wandering the Wasteland and forcing me to run to them to continue a quest line. Nothing game breaking so far, still can't believe I have yet to have a CTD in my 28 hours of playtime. FO3/NV crashed all the time for me.

Playing on PC here and it actually seems there's a pretty small amount of bugs so far. Most of mine have involved my weapon rarely disappearing when I swap it or my Pip-Boy needing to be closed and reopened to display properly. I had one instance of the game freezing for a few moments and then teleporting me a little bit away from where I was, but other than that this is a much tighter experience than I had with New Vegas.

Dying for some stability and performances fixes, though. As some others have reported I get weird drops in performance in places that make little sense.

Brahmin are buggy as shit, but I kind of don't want them fixed.

Although next time I went back, the one on the generator was dead :(

Boots up, goes to Corvega immediately, nice...Drops previously in the 30fps range now 48 - 62fps with everything on ultra.

Nice, improvement.

It's a feature.

I've had one stuck inside a house in Sanctuary since last week.

If you're playing on PC and it's irritating you, you can open the console, hover over the brahmin to get its id and then type:

prid <id>
moveto player

That should clear ir.

Here's some of the fun ones:

A few of my settlements are showing 0 people, but each have max people. I run no settlement mods. They will, periodically, get 17 people again. Then lose them.

I've got 2 settlements showing a certain number of people, but have less on site. The other people were npcs I recruited that simply never reached the site, but are still counted to the population total.

I've got 5 side quests in my log that can't be finished. This ranges from npcs getting stuck in scenery, not spawning, or me simply doing things the developers didn't account for.

I've had to use the console to skip 2 main quests that bugged out. I googled these quests. I am very much not alone when it comes to them bugging out.

My gun sometimes disappears (but can still fire) until I zoom in and out. Again, this is pretty common if the tech forums are anything to go by.

Sometimes I switch to a weapon, and because the model has to load, I'm stuck without a gun for 3 to 7 seconds in a fight. This seems like terrible, terrible design. Unsure why the model takes so long occasionally, as my performance is pretty slick.

Sometimes certain textures don't load their proper versions and stay with the low res initial load versions. Downtown Boston has this in spades.

Corpses disappearing with the Bloody Mess perk. Like, blow the dude up, watch the pieces go everywhere and then poof like magic, gone. With the loot. Normally you can just loot the chunks, but in this case the chunks literally disappear as they settle from the physics. Bye bye legendary loot.

Hopefully they get around to fixing the terminal bug for us 144hz users. Limiting my framerate to 60fps to avoid getting stuck has made for a juddery experience.

So no SLI support? Fucking goddamnit.

Edit: Certainly running less erratically, but I seem to be capped at 45fps for some reason?

It's a feature.

I've had one stuck inside a house in Sanctuary since last week.

That happened to me like 3 times in a row! I just heard a repeating "smashing" sound and constant mooing and was wondering what it was. Looked in a room of one of the houses and it was in there bouncing all over the place.

I drop into 50s around the whole rooftop/buncha stairs area of that place and not indoors. Hopefully that means 60 solid and translates to further out areas if that works out good for ya.

Honestly, as long as there's no save game bug that deletes your progress like NEW VEGAS, I'm happy. In all honestly, FALLOUT 4's launch has been one of the smoothest games Bethesda has put out, technically.

Outside of the random major performance drops on consoles I haven't hit that many bugs outside of physics being silly.

I think the game could use a whole bunch of usability improvements though.

Let me sort my gear by category and weight and have it clearly ladled as such
Have the world map show me where every companion is.
The entire crafting / modding system needs a slap with the usability brush.
Settler assignment needs some kind of pop up that says who is doing what.

I totally dont expect Bethesda to improve any of that though. The inventory is busted in the exact same ways Skyrim was.

Also maybe patch it so NPC's and companions dont spawn on roof tops I cant reach.
Also stop the Brahmin from spawning inside my house and unable to leave because it cant fit though the door.

Officially stoked, wanna go home to play now...

Promising, anyone else getting performance improvements in areas where performance tanks?

that sounds really good. At the top of corvega I was getting 30 flat, was super awful
I went to Diamond City near the Church and the ocean, steady 62FPS with some drops to the 50'ish range. This is definitely not a placebo, for me it's running very nicely. I tested it with my SLI bits set and without SLI, both the same.

EDIT
I made sure I deleted all custom INI's and no mods running, wanted to test the vanilla experience.

Up to double the performance sounds more than nice to me. Hopefully this means we'll finally get the "solid 30fps" that was promised on the PS4.

My performance in Corvega was OK, it was the area around Goodneighbor that fucked my FPS badly. Fluctuating anywhere from 30-60. Hopefully some more people report back on that area specifically.

Hopefully they patch the Feeding the Troops repeatable quest - I've only ever done County Crossing, didn't realise I had done the same one until deja vu kicked in after the 3rd time :p.

A mate of mine is also stuck on Feeding the Troops due to him killing the farmer that he was assigned to previously... which makes it unfinishable for him.

At least I can keep on going back I guess :p lol

Edit: Beth if you're reading this, can you make it visible what duty each settler has when you highlight them, it's a bit annoying having to play roulette with them and see if your other resources go down when assigning them to a new duty.

There's a mini-gun somewhere under the floorboards in my Diamond City home that just dropped through when I was trying to place it on a shelf to display.

Luckily it's just a generic version and not the
Ashmaker
.

Nice, I hope they fix the aiming bug:

Sometimes when I aim I am shot through half of the map for some reason.

To those who are saying that this is not a substantial patch:

General memory and stability improvements

Couldn't this be an indication that the fps issues people have been encountering will be resolved, or at least improved? I really hope so as that's been my most substantial issue with the game so far.

I hope there's more fixes than that. My "Dangerous Minds" quest is bugged and blocking me from completing the game :-/

Yeah, that's the one.

You on PC? there's a bunch of console commands you can use to get through.

Yeah, I'm on PC. I see that I can use the console to get my way through it but it seems that it bugs the next quest in the line anyway. Really hoping that they just fix it.

Lol if that's all and the glitches don't even bother me that much so far.

They better fix those fucking disgusting loading times which maket he game unplayable on everything but SSDs.

I want them to fix the bug that prevents me from choosing Tina as a companion. Also if you try looking at the pip boy whilst stealth closed its also invisible so youcantactually do anything in it.
