Resident Evil 6 rated for PS4 and Xbox One in Korea

Look, I know everyone has a right to an opinion, and there are people who found enjoyment from RE6.

..But nah. Far as I'm concerned, RE5 is good, great as a matter of fact. RE4 (GAF and most of the internet will have me destroyed for this one, but) is..alright, I don't have any nostalgia for it, didn't see what the big deal was when it came out. RE6...RE6 is fucking TERRIBLE.

Do not want...this was easily one of the worst in the main franchise(somehow worse than 5, though co-op saved that one a bit), I had to force myself to finish any of the campaigns. Capcom should be working on a new good Resident Evil instead.

Resident Evil Zero HD Remaster, Resident Evil 2 REmake, Resident Evil 7, the third CG Resident Evil film, the final Resident Evil live-action film, a Resident Evil TV series, and Umbrella Corps are all confirmed to be in the works as well. How much you're excited for those depends from person to person, but it's hardly like this is the only RE thing in the works right now.

Cool to see this coming out on PS4/Xbox One, even if I already have it on PC.

I must admit though that when it comes to Resi Evil I've enjoyed near enough all the recent games, especially Revelations 2 which I thought was fantastic. 6 is a fun as fuck, complete mess but one I enjoy immensely. The only thing that stops me from replaying 5 much is how awful Shevas AI is, I initially rinsed it playing it with a friend but trying it with AI was painful. Only one I didn't like was Revelations 1 which is probably one of my least liked RE games.

Not at all, Vanquish and RE6 are very different beasts in terms of mechanics.
Yeah, but both are 3rd person action/shooter games, so it's natural to compare them.

Vanquish is fantastic, but personally, I prefer RE6. I love the gameplay mechanics, and it has a lot of post-game content (Vanquish is really lacking in that regard) Also co-op.

I really hope the RE6 remaster is real. I'm triple dipping for sure.

Eh, would rather have 5, but will probably break down once the price is right.

Between the REmake & 0 Remasters and the fucking excellent REV2 (is episode 1 still free? give it a try!), I've got nothing to complain about. Times have been good. Something for everyone.

Can't wait.

No way. There are some very cool unique ideas at play, but in the end the secondary character just doesn't have much to do in almost all the scenarios.

You may have a point about Natalia, who for the most part is a shortcut-finder/weak point spotter, but Moira can absolutely go toe-to-toe with Claire in the agency stakes.

I've played and finished RE5 many, many times, both online and off, but I never felt that it was significantly better or more interesting as a result of playing with a partner, wheras Revelations 2 is a game I feel benefits from co-op enormously, mostly due to the difference in abilities.

R2 probably has the best co-op the series has ever enjoyed, too.
WAT second player becomes a glorified assistant to player 1. At some points its close to being escort missions. RE 5 and RE 6 especially mercenaries, best co-op RE experiences. Im glad Capcom has been one of the few to still include Offline split-screen Co-Op.

Wonder when we'd get an RE7 actually...

Next year most likely, considering the 20th anniversary.

True but the pacing and focus in the combat is completely different and the movement/combat system in RE6 is definitely unique to it. Love both personally.

RE7 is happening, but they've taken a lot longer to announce it than many would of expected. We know it's been in development for a little over three years now, and in 2013 and 2014 there were a few minor leaks/word about it, but Capcom have been grave quiet about it.

I could post all of the things we know about it as I usually do when RE7 is brought up in RE topics, but in basic Capcom started development on RE7 just after RE6 was finished, they evaluated the response to RE6 and other RE games, and probably have evaluated the response to Revelations, Revelations 2, and so on. They said they think horror is liable again, but pointed to Walking Dead and Tomb Raider as examples so take that as you will.

There is a heavy chance the new consoles and some change in direction for the project delayed it, and Capcom seems to have recently been doing some re-evaluating. There's also a ton of other RE stuff in development, literally in the next couple years we know we have the following RE related things to look forward to outside of RE7:
-Resident Evil Zero HD Remaster (and physical released of REmake+Zero)
-Resident Evil 2 REmake
-3rd Resident Evil CG Film
-Last Resident Evil Live-Action Film
-Resident Evil TV Series
-Umbrella Corps
-Some In-Development Resident Evil VR Game
-Resident Evil 6 Remaster, apparently

We also know the series 20th anniversary is next year, starting in March.

There's some suspicions Capcom is planning to reveal RE6 Remaster at PSX and maybe tease RE7's release. If they're going to make the move to try and release RE7 on the 20th anniversary of the series (March 22nd, 2016), PSX would be the last good oppurtunity to do so at some event, and would follow the 4-5 month announce-release hype cycle RE6 and Revelations 2 had.

But really, it's up in the air. The third CG film of RE doesn't come out until January of 2017, and usually the CG films release before the games they tie-in with, but then this new CG film is by a different studio and apparently a new start for some RE CG film series not in the same vein as Degeneration and Damnation, so who knows?

With all of the projects I kinda doubt we see RE next year. But we will see it in 2017. However I think now is the time to start the hype. All they gotta show is a logo and maybe a character and people will be in.

It could happen. Though arguably if there's any time to have a lot of RE stuff going on, it would be the series 20th anniversary, so in that regard it makes sense there's a lot going on. Also since RE is Capcom's top selling and most profitable franchise, composes Capcom's two top selling games of all time, and four of the five top selling games of all time (if you include all the different releases of RE4 as one, if not and separate it like how Capcom does for some reason, then 3 out of 5), plus the Resident Evil live-action films have made a lot and RE merchandising has done pretty well for itself apparently.

REmake 2 definitely will not be 2016, the RE VR game is unlikely in 2016, and the CG Resident Evil film is slated for January, 2017. But 2016 will most likely include this RE6 Remaster, Zero HD is slated for January, and Umbrella Corps is slated for 2016. So while we know a lot of RE stuff in development, most of it actually probably won't be seen until 2017. With also the fact RE7 has been in development for over 3 years now, and it being the 20th anniversary of the series, I actually think RE7 might be in their 2016 line-up, though if it isn't I also wouldn't be surprised.

But Capcom does have some pass for PSX, it looks likely that RE6 Remaster will be announced there, and it seemed a bit strange to have their own separate pass for just Street Fighter V, so it does seem likely Capcom is going to announce something at PSX (and probably not just RE6 Remaster, though that being announced at PSX looking likely I'm not sure if it makes it more or less likely that RE7 would be announced there).

That's true, but I wonder how good the new ones will be.

All I know is I need more RE, Revelations 2 did not sate my hunger.

Damn, didn't know he was banned. What happened?

No clue

6 is so bad though... Why not 4? Hell I'll take 5 at this point...

Because chrisdecuba and Albert aren't finished remaking it for them. Nevermind... Capcom could just sell a port of the PS360 version and then
buy the fan project to milk it yet again. But seriously no one should play it until that project is finished.

If they just released a remaster pack of 4,5, and 6, I'd bite, but boooooo-urns on 6 by itself.

I own the PC version, so not really interested in a Remaster, though secretly hoping with this Remaster there comes some new content or something that may also come for PC.

Resident Evil 6 isn't close to my favorite RE game, but I did find it to be a fun game in its own right with friends. I wouldn't mind more of it, THOUGH I also don't want future RE's to go in the direction of RE6.

Ooh, looking forward to it. Enjoyed it on PS3, was a fun game if pretty unpolished in areas outside the core gameplay.

I think I said this earlier, but I hope the Remaster works at 60fps for consoles. I had played the 360 version of RE6 first before the PC version, and I can tell you, the PC version >>>> 360, and a big reason behind that was the much, much better FPS (which ran like, 19-26 FPS on consoles). The combat in the game benefits from it.

The PC version also had the post-release patch that fixed several things, added optional co-op to Ada's campaign, made it so you could turn off cutscene QTEs, and such, so that's good too.

Capcom please stop.what about actual new games?

Umbrella Corps releases in three months, REmake 2 is in the works, Resident Evil 7 is probably going to be announced soon, Revelations 2 literally came out a year ago.

Capcom- Remember how RE 6 was a disappointment last gen? Well surely it will be a huge hit this new gen.

6 months later:

Capcom- How are the sales looking?

Analyst- Well sir we have sold 6 million copies of the remaster.

Capcom- Disappointing. Well scrap REmake 2.

Does Capcom even make new games this generation outside of Street Fighter? And I'm not even counting Dead Rising 3 which was made here in the west.

Considering how much worse the textures in RE6 are compared to RE5 I wonder if they were generated that way or if they just downgraded the texture quality for space and performance reasons. If it's the latter I really hope they restore them with any prospective re-release. Otherwise I'm more than content with the existing PC version.

"Has capcom made any new games that aren't remasters besides the new games they're making?"

Hope it's true, would really like to give it a second chance, at a decent price. But a last-gen trilogy for $60 would be a definite day one.
