What's this Monsignor Plaza bug I keep hearing about? I've tried to search but I have no idea how widespread it is. Should I just completely avoid this location or what's the deal?

Glad I stocked up on ammo and stuff before this patch. Seems like the vendor glitch was patched out.

I may have to stock up on copper and ammo before playing with the patch installed.

Hopefully it doesn't fix the Resource Shipment duplication glitch and the increase settlement size glitch.

Unfortunately it doesn't fix the Old Guns/Radio Freedom glitch that prevents you from completing the Minuteman quest line...

What glitch is that? I'm on the part of that where I need to place artillery and I think it might be glitched.

Well it's fixed in my game anyways (and apparently some one else's). So you probably won't even encounter it (hopefully).

And I wouldn't avoid it if you are worried about having it rather than save a lot when you get near Cambridge (also, this has happened but not as much in other areas of hte game too. Cambridge just happens to be where most people got affected). The bug is that if you get in a certain area around Monsignor Plaza (For me it was most of the Cambridge area) your game will crash to the home screen/desktop with absolutely no warning (it will sometimes even make you jump it's so quick to crash). There is a pretty defined border too (when I had it I could figure out exactly where it was I couldn't go farther in any particular area cause it was reliable that if I stepped within a foot of the border area the game would crash. So it had pretty defined borders of where I couldn't go). Apparently something happens to cause something to load in that area that is corrupt and the game can't handle. I think the best theory was that it probably had to do with some random encounter because it was so random on how it happened for people.

I don't know if anyone other than Bethesda (Who apparently found the problem and fixed it or at least for most people did) figured out what caused it to happen in some one's game (people were going back and replaying and trying out different quests to see if any of them spawned the issue) and it was random if it happened but once it did your save game was f*cked. And most people didn't find out until long after it happened so they'd lose a lot of progress to try to find an ok save game and a lot of time trying to find a save that worked. Sometimes it was just easier to start over except since no one knew what caused it no way to avoid it happening again.

Honest question: is the ammo dupe fix really a big deal? I have so much ammo I'll never use it all. I just sell the types I find and buy what I need. I've have over 2000 .45, .50 and 10MM. Have about 200 rockets and 50 nukes. I only leveled up Scrounger once, too. Havnt had less than 15k in caps in a while. Just don't see why someone would spend time to dupe ammo when it's so prevalent. On Survivor, level 45.

I have a hard time keeping enough .308 ammo but honestly, I like that there is some stuff I don't get more than enough of. Imho, Bethesda games are more fun when things are a little scarce early on and it is a little disappointing when later in the game you don't need anything cause you have too much of everything. They're never balanced well for later in the game. So far I'd have to say Fallout 4 is a little better in this regard caues I find I'm not overflowing in caps (I just used up all my caps and some ammo trying to buy some better armor with a nice perk to it and I'm almost 100 hours in the game). Still I'm not too hard pressed for money/caps but at least I still find stuff above what I can afford.

that vendor glitch where you could sell back unlimited ammo no longer works for me. Definitely feels smoother though.

I really hope it isn't gone :(.

This will ruin my limited play time if true. They shouldn't patch out optional non-game breaking glitches that actually benifit some of us.

I was having an issue with this, I believe it has to do with fast traveling, every time I fast traveled from sanctuary it was losing all the beds, water, and food. I fast traveled in, then walked just last red rocket and fast traveled away, has been fine since.

Wish we could trade, mate. I find so much damn .308 I've made a living off selling it lol. Maybe the game gives you ammo for guns you don't have equipped as to entice you to try them out.

Yeah, I'd never use that glitch as I like having to worry about ammo but I don't see why it needs to be fixed. Even if they want to fix it, I'd think they would focus on stuff that no one is going to like first (like my radio station randomly breaking so I have to find a previous save to fix it or Nick Valentine randomly injuring himself and not being able to be fixed. Stuff like that where no one is enjoying benefitting from it, it's only ignorable at best).

I mean if it was an MP game I could understand. But it's not. So a glitch that only makes it easy for some that only those who like that would even abuse it, I don't see the problem.

That might be. I'm rolling in .38 and 5mm ammo (though I just used all my .38 to buy a chestpiece and shinguard as well as some of the 5 mm <- that one I find more useful in case I do want to use the minigun again). It doesn't help that my best gun besides a laser rifle/institute gun uses the .308 and does exploding damage. I guess I find fusion cells go fast too when I use the laser weapons (because they fire so fast they are pretty awesome but they go through ammo fast so I don't use them as much. And it feels a little cheaty using them.. like it allows me not to use tactics and just keep firing and in a way I'd prefer being forced to use some tactics. I like a little challenge vs. run and gun. Run and gun if I have a gun that makes up for my shitty ability to fast aim always feels like I'm just taking the easy way out).

The dogmeat dupe glitch and the workshop dupe glitch are way more important to me. Also the settlement size glitch as well.

Honestly, I wish they would patch in a higher difficulty. I'm on Survivor and can pretty much take down anything with a double tap of my overseers guardian. Got the military fatigues up to ballistic 3 and I can sit in a room getting shot by 4 guys and just walk up to each one and kill them at my leasuire. Might need a stimpak after but still. Not bragging because I have old man reflexes so I usually suck and need to coop every boss in bloodborne dlc. I'm actually not putting any perks now into gun damage increases or defense since I'm way op.

So, how does the scaling work? Storywise I'm at the start of Glowing Sea. Done a shit ton of side quests. Most railroad, sanctuary and just ready to talk to guy on airship. Maybe it's because I'm so early in the story so enemies are easy? Just did the one ladt night for scientist where you go to insane asylum and kill home skillet or let him live. I really want a challenge and to have to play the hide n seek game again. Any tips?

Dammit, they didn't fix the Taking Independence bug, the requirement still shows I needs to Destroy the Egg Clutches and Meet Minute in the Courtyard. Preston Garvey just walking around the courtyard and every time I approach him, he just keep saying "we needs to focus and take the castle back". And I have 2 missions Ghoul problems at the Somerville and Taking Point: Outpost Zimonja which require me to talk to Preston to finished it. Hope they fix this shit on their next update.

I just did the "Taking Independence" quest last night. Did you wander around at the top of the castle destroying clutches and trigger the
Mirelurk Queen
boss fight?

Did you mean

Mirelurk Queen
is the last boss. If you haven't beaten her, go around the entire castle destroying eggs, and eventually it'll get pissed and come out.

Does anybody know if they fixed the Pip-boy becoming translucent and virtually unreadable when you have some form of armour that bestows stealth? I have one item which makes me virtually disappear (very similar effect to the stealth boy) but while I am crouched and moving slowly or still.

Also how is the framerate in 1.02 when using scopes on PS4? This often became a bit juddery.

Noooooo! 😱

I forgot to turn off automatic updates! Was the patch auto downloaded for y'all or did it miss the auto download hour?

No idea... I didn't even think to check to see if that is fixed or not (I have that problem, I usually find if you stay still and press the pip boy button again it shows up. It's gotten so automatic I didn't even think to see if it actually worked right).

Can't be fast traveling. I get this glitch occasionally (it is happening right now) and I don't use fast travel. Sometimes it auto fixes itself but then it comes back.

I don't think that's a glitch (though I admit it's really frustrating to have to stand up to see your pip-boy).

It is. It's supposed to be translucent but still readable (like you can kinda make out the words and map). But many times it just doesn't show up at all and you just have a clear area. Sometimes it even makes your gun transluscent or even objects around you (I had one time it made all the walkways in a raider area disappear). Saving and reloading fixes that when it gets that extreme.

I stand corrected then! That'd be great. I've been rolling with a chameleon armor piece for days and it's...frustrating.

In the meantime if it hasn't been fixed or you don't have the patch. Try putting away the pip boy and bringing it back up again (don't move at all when you do this or it won't work). That should make it readable the second time you bring it up. I mean it's not great and it's hard to read (especially if the area behind your hand has a lot of light) but if you really don't want to go out of stealth. I sometimes still stand up cause even when it's working it's hard to make out.

Fair enough, it's what fixed it for me, but this is a Bethesda game so who knows what's breaking what, currently I have a free supply like because there's no settlers at either end. Probably a memory issue or something, these games keep all item and character loaded iirc which is why the PS3 had issues, something must be resetting it or stopping the game counting what's in a settlement properly.

I was destroying the eggs and the Queen shows up instead of continous clearing the eggs, I turn my focus and kill the Queen and Destroy the egg clutches still show as incomplete even thought I spend an bour running around the castle to make sure all eggs are destroyed. I even build the 2 generators, all power connect correctly. I have move on to other missions, just cant finish Preston Garvey missions.

OK, that sucks. I hope that gets a fix soon.

What glitch?

I didn't talk to Jack Cabot immediately after the 7 days passed. I came back probably 50 hours later and he was an old man and his mother was dead. Now he's angry at me and I can't complete the miscellaneous objective associated with the quest.

I don't even care about the reward at this point. It bothers me that I can't finish it in any way.

I found a thread on Steam where other people had the glitch but their solution was to use the console. I'm out of luck since I have the game on the PS4.

I think it just ran like ass when you were near it, inside it, or on top of it.

It was pretty much a disaster area.

That's not the only place where the game tanks. It's probably my biggest complaint with the game so far, huge drops in various outdoor areas.

Oh man. I haven't returned yet either, but I'm unsure how many days have passed.

Which ones?

Ones that I can think of off the top of my head are "Curtain Call" Rex will not leave the top of the tower and "Hypothesis". Suppose to get a sample, but the way point leaves me to a bare spot on the floor in the location. "The Silver Shroud" is another one. Can't find the way point where I need to go to kill the named target. Does not show on the map. Tried the strategy guide but the mission will not take.
