I saw her with customized clothes in a random online match on youtube and she looked really good, much more like a normal character. I wish I could find that video..
I hope they improve her movelist. Didn't get much time in the arcade with T7, but she seemed pretty shitty to my dismay. Looking at tier lists that seems to be a general opinion.

Well she doesn't have that face anymore. They changed that pretty quick. Sadly, I'm sure she'll be keeping the outfit. At the very least, it'd be nice if they could make the hand-buttons look like physical objects.
Really? A lot of the customizations that people seem to hate here on gaf are from notable Japanese and Korean players. Nobi's joker cowboy Dragunov gets a lot of hate here.
I worded it poorly, but yeah, that's what I'm saying. Tournament players tend to have some of the worst customizations, but it doesn't mean that the system is inherently hopeless. I like to think that the customizations I make for my characters aren't hideous.
Rise of Incarnates had a couple things against it... first and foremost it was a pretty mediocre game. It also had a long open beta and they never really made any announcement when the game was officially out.
Considering how fast it was shut down... they probably lost a bit of money there. Although it does seem they were also shutting down the free to play Soul Calibur around the same time. Tekken Revolution and Ace Combat Infinity are still up though... guess they're still profitable.
That's one of best features in Tekken.
Yeah sure some of the eastern players make some funny/weird outfits but I think it's pretty awesome overall. Yu Yu made her Xiao U look pretty cool. Any kind of ban or a toggle seems seems dumb like that idea to ban outfits in the Doa Tournies.

Competitively the dress up stuff is really stupid. Big part in fighting games is knowing the visual cues, and customization really screws with that. So ya, should be a toggle and off for tournaments IMO.

They ruined single player modes for me. I think they somewhat fixed it in Tag 2 with a patch. I just want the characters, not angelcore-Xxedge with a Ronald Mcdonald Law when I'm trying to enjoy my game by myself on my HD display. Why the hell would I want these stupid ass costumes and color combos shitting up the visuals?
I was watching Rip play online vs someone and his Law looks ridiculous plus he always has a pie with the character. Whenever the chance would come he would pie him. The online player got really pissed. The pie move has a long startup so Rip kept doing and insisting that the guy learn to throw break ,it was hilarious and I don't think any of the customizations hinder anything really unless you don't have your fundamentals that is
Okay maybe the sparkle effects are a little much lol

TTT2 and T7 just had arbitrary random soul-less pants and shirts that lacked any sort of cloth physics and texture-work the prior outfits from T6 had. But that wasn't the worst part, the most insulting part was the amount of accessories TTT2 and T7 threw at you. In T6 every character was just limited to 1 trolling accessory whether it was Christie holding a carnival tail, or Xiaoyu with her magic wand. But in TTT2/T7 everything just went full retard where every character just had 100's of stupid items like 5ft wide clocks, christmas trees, balloons, car battery back-packs, plastic wings, you name it. And with that the great customization system of Tekken 6 was pretty much extinguished into the mess you see now. Sure Tekken 6 still had some obnoxious things with the hair and aura's... but all that was exacerbated with the max-troll customization only offering from TTT2/T7.
You can just compare how the outfits look. Here is tournament footage of Tekken 6 from MasterCup 2:
It's gotten a bit too much now. There is no such thing as a character design anymore. Any character is basically wearing any random thing from the customization store and with that the Tekken cast lose a big part of their character.
But regardless, no one is asking for them to remove customizations. Most people are asking for them to make them as good as Tekken 6 and make them respectable to the specific character. BUT if Namco is adamant about making the customization system solely for trolling, then at least allow the player to disable it's view on their screen.
Or just make a PC version and I'll learn how to mod the custom system out of my version myself!
Based on the way things are going these days, I'm expecting this to come out on PC. Last gen tekken branched out to the xbox platform, and this gen I would expect it to branch out even further. These graphics are looking amazing
The biggest issue with the reused customizations in Tekken 7 is that they're reusing customs from the wrong game. Tag 2's selection was weak. Overly generic. 6's was the best so far.
Also an ass binder according to that picture with a hell of a workout routine with that waist and back change.
But really, I hope T7 has clothing options that fit the character's unique model. In TTT2 it seemed that they basically used a generic model that changed from the character's original costume once you change into certain costumes, making everyone sort of look the same, like how that Leo model isn't using similar measurements when changed into swimwear. I know they did it to save cost on such a huge roster in TTT2, T7 looks like they have more time and hopefully they can put more effort in it.

There are a large amount maybe even majority of players who would most definitely leave the toggle option on. I'm not one of them. I don't like silly in my Tekken. I like my Tekken very grounded in fantasy martial arts.
If you've seen these two movies you know where I'm coming from
vs
Batman and Robin isn't the best movie for many reasons, but do you understand why it fails visually compared to the other movies? A collection of bad visual ideas has an ability to undermine great franchises. Tekken isn't near as bad as Batman and Robin but it's headed too far in the wrong direction.
Edit: To above. You know damn well Tekken is full of silly. Been that way since the first game had you play as a bear, robot, Yoshimitsu, and a white dude with an eraser head.

Well it's not really even sensible in tournaments. Everyone has their own version of their custom character and nobody's going to waste time waiting for each player to customize their fighter if they even have all the parts needed. Going with the defaults is fine.
I'm not for removing it period because hell I had some good time doing that shit in Tekken 6 specifically. It's just not viable to do it in tournaments.

I heard this comment almost verbatim two years ago. That's progress I guess. Also we don't have any fighting animals on the roster yet. I don't enjoy dressing as a fairy in my fighting games for the record.

Tekken 6 customizations were awesome. They were all outfits that were were contextually relevant to the characters:

They could stand to improve Lili's facial features. Everyone else seems more defined and detailed, but she still looks a bit generic anime girl. How old is she supposed to be now? She still looks 16. The amount of detail on her dress is amazing though.
That would go against the entire point of adding customization right? Players should be forced to see your opponents choice for design in games that you choose to interact with people IMO.

Yeah, not all of the concepts made it in. In the case of the "I'm 5 years old" lion overalls + squeaky hammer (which sadly is an item in Tag 2) costume, it was probably for the best.
