I just don't get the appeal of Splatoon at all. I love a lot of Nintendo's other IP (Zelda, Xenoblade, etc) but something about the artstyle really rubs me the wrong way.

There's no message of delay for next week sales report. So, Week 52 should be released by the usual time Wednesday next week. Both Famitsu and Media Create.

That should be digital of over 600k.

It says shipped 3 million units though?

Oh interesting. Cool I guess although unexpected.

I wonder if Minecraft being available on the eshop had anything to do with the hardware increase. I mean I'm skeptical it would but there's no real way of being able to track sales of it.

I just don't get the appeal of Splatoon at all. I love a lot of Nintendo's other IP (Zelda, Xenoblade, etc) but something about the artstyle really rubs me the wrong way.
The game play is fresh, fun and unique.

Personally I like that you can win doing things other than killing the most people. In regular mode it's the team/player that painted the most ground that wins. In all ranked battle modes, you can carry your team to victory without killing anyone.

It's fun. You don't have to be good at shooting to enjoy the game.

If we consider longevity from first to final new commercial release:

Famicom: 11 years
Game Boy: 14 years
Super Famicom: 10 years
Virtual Boy: 1 year
Nintendo 64: 5 years
Game Boy Advance: 7 years
Gamecube: 5 years
Nintendo DS: 11 years
Wii: 9 years

PlayStation: 10 years
PlayStation 2: 13 years
PSP: 12 years
PlayStation 3: 10 years+

Xbox: 5 years
Xbox 360: 10 years

Neo Geo should be the king iirc

You should fly there and start an education program as to why they're wrong. Running speed is a good starting point

Wii U also sold a lot of Hardware, due to Splatoon and Super Mario Maker.

Additionally, Splatoon Amiibos also were requested. Sales: Boy > Squid > Girl

Boy > Girl? I demand a recount!

Dengeki Sales: Week 50, 2015 (Dec 07 - Dec 13)

Dengeki Sales Archive

how soon before a splatoon anime?

Nintendo was surprised it sold a million Worldwide and didn't have the foresight to add them to Smash. At best. They are thinking of making it at this point.

Additionally, Splatoon Amiibos also were requested. Sales: Boy > Squid > Girl.

Boy > Girl? I demand a recount!

I guess most people already owned the girl. She was always above the boy in sales.

Wii U passed the Vita for the fiscal year according to Dengeki.

It looks like Monster Hunter X might end somewhere around 3.1-3.4 million physically if it holds steady in the next few weeks. Counting digital would make it pretty close to MHP3rd. Pretty crazy.

Let's see if Monster Strike can reach a million physical as well.

Nah Wii had tons of mega sellers. The real answer is MHP3

If you read carefully me post you will note that no, neither mhp3 was able to sustain the console as a valid Ww product

In today context if NX will have just a mhp3 it will probably tank while id it will have many other arrows it could be successful

Mpl90

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
This week's Famitsu has the monthly top 30 retail + digital. Did anyone post it yet anywhere?

Famista Returns is having nice legs; I wonder if it can cross 100k and whether NB is willing to release another one in 2016, this time with more stock available for launch.

There's no message of delay for next week sales report. So, Week 52 should be released by the usual time Wednesday next week. Both Famitsu and Media Create.

Actually, there is.

Media Create will be on January 6th (Week 53 on January 7th, then?)

Famitsu: ???. No notice on their website, but it will most likely follow the same pattern as last year (didn't they release their data for Week 52 one week before MC?).

I just went and checked...

Monster Hunter 4: Capcom announced 3m units shipped on Oct. 15 (game came out in Sept 14)
Monster Hunter X: Capcom announced 3 units shipped on December 24 (game came out on Nov. 28).

So right now, Monster Hunter X has shipped more copies than MH4 during the same timeframe. Pretty impressive. Obviously, you have to take into account the fact that Monster Hunter X came out much closer to Christmas than MH4 (which was released in September).

Really curious to see how it's going to hold throughout 2016.

The Sega/Line collaboration game "Fortisia" reached 400,000 DLs

This game has pretty good visuals, maybe the best mobile gfx I've seen yet.

Have you seen Mobius FF? I mean I guess it's kinda on-rails but I've still not seen anything else that good.

Probably depends whether they announce a G version and if MH Stories has a knock-on effect.

Please note that MHX might become the 3rd best-selling MH game in Japan behind MHP3 and MH4.

Guys any comparison for Tri Force Heroes vs Four Sword here? As it seems the sales is not really that bad.

TriForce Heroes is just passing 4 Swords LTD (127k). It will land at around 160k units, not too shabby. Also legs.

Vita ahead of PS4 on both M.Create and Dengeki. Pretty much solely down to Minecraft. Not even that, the power of handheld Minecraft I guess, since the PS4 retail release is clinging on inside the Dengeki top 50.

Wow, well MeiQ did even worse than I thought it would according to Dengeki. I know it's a somewhat unappealing game but I thought it could've scraped 10k.

And Seraph of the End didn't even chart; nor FuRyu's Food Wars game. Deary me

Aside from the legs games, at least next week has some new things to watch. Gundam will be interesting given the user blasting it's had (shouldn't affect FW sales too much I'd guess, but legs may be non-existent); Medabots 9 is out and SMT x FE.

WiiU selling about 50% more than last year when it should be "dying" speaks a lot about the Splatoon effect.

Such incredible performance.

What released on DS in 2015? On amazon.jp all I can see is a Frozen game in 2013 and then 3 best price re-releases in 2014.
A ton of DSiWare games from Genterprise.

Neo Geo should be the king iirc
It isn't actually, Game Boy is the one true king. :)

Just for fun:

Neo Geo AES: 13 years
Neo Geo CD: 5 years
Neo Geo Pocket: 3 years

SG-1000: 5 years
Mark III: 4 years
MegaDrive: 7 years
Game Gear: 6 years
Sega Saturn: 6 years
Dreamcast: 9 years

PC Engine: 12 years
PC-FX: 5 years

Playdia: 2 years
WonderSwan: 5 years

Cassette Vision: 3 years
Super Cassette Vision: 2 years

3DO: 2 years

Lynx: 2 years
Jaguar: 1 year

Please note that MHX might become the 3rd best-selling MH game in Japan behind MHP3 and MH4.

There are 4 Monster Hunter titles that have sold over 4 million units worldwide: Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G / Freedom Unite, Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, Monster Hunter 4 and Monster Hunter 4G / Ultimate.

Without a Western release Monster Hunter X won't reach Monster Hunter 4 (currently at 4.1 million units), and I say Monster Hunter 4 because Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate will eventually outsell it, it is only 100,000 units behind, less in reality if we include the budget version. Bear in mind that Capcom don't include budget versions of their titles.

For example, Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G / Freedom Unite appears in the Platinum Titles column with only 3.7 million units shipped worldwide, while we know that only in Japan the game surpassed 4 million units including PSP® The Best version.

Little too early to be saying, when it's holding better.

Oh. Kinda like how Dreamcast is still getting games, then?

If so, I'd guess we're going to see very long "longevity" from any online-enabled console going forward then :p

I'm surprised MH4 is only at 4.1 million... guess MH4U really cut its legs.

True, but that's because it came out closer to Christmas.

Well, not exactly. They're still officially licensed games and not homebrew like what Dreamcast has now.

I didn't discriminate on media, be it CD/disk add on, Nintendo Power station download or online digital download.

I just don't get the appeal of Splatoon at all. I love a lot of Nintendo's other IP (Zelda, Xenoblade, etc) but something about the artstyle really rubs me the wrong way.

I used to feel the same way until I actually played it. I was wrong...so so wrong.
