Nice. DCUO was a lot of fun when it first came out. I wonder if the XBO version will be isolated the way the PS3 and PS4 versions are. PS3 players could only play with PS3 players until the PS4 version came out. Now I think PS3 and PS4 players can play together. I wonder how doable it is to group XBO and PC players.

And cross-play is coming to PS4/PC this month. Also, Greg Miller is voicing a new character to the game, Superboy.

Not really. They pretty much said it would come to XB1 once they broke off from SCE.

About damn time. Perhaps there is hope then the XBO version won't be by itself.

Will it be cross-play with the other versions? Or are the Xbox servers going to be isolated?

It will probably just be XB1 only for the same reason Rocket League is. Microsoft apparently has a requirement for cross-play where both games (PC and XB1) utilize their Azure servers. For cross-play to happen, they would probably need to create a special Windows 10 version to accommodate those requirements. As a result, that version would not be able to be cross-play with PS4. There would then be two PC versions, causing potential confusion, due to Microsoft's requirement. That's apparently the exact reason why Rocket League is not cross-play with PC on XB1.

Have they let you merge accounts yet? Like use your PC account on the consoles? Cause I actually brought DLC on the PC side

I could never convince any of my PC buddies to try this but I have some diehard DC guys who I play Xbox with. Might finally give it a go.

Is this sub based?

Its free,

if you pay 15 dollars a month however, you get access to everything.

And at least to me, a person who has spent 50 shy of 1k hours on this game. I think its a lot of fun everything. Also if you like the dcu, or have casual interest its alot of fun weird shit.

Not my favorite MMO but if you enjoy DC comics, you should at lest give it a try. Don't get intimidated by it being a MMO, It's one of the more approachable ones.

I'll even say that if you don't like DC but want to get into MMOs, it's a nice first MMO in my opinion as well if you want a cheap/free entry and better understanding of how most MMOs work.

I actually think I may jump back in for a bit.

Aren't PS4/PS3 cross-play? So wouldn't that mean that the cross-play is PS4/PS3/PC?

Thread reminded me to finally manually delete the game from my PC because the launchpad stopped working ages ago (couldn't connect/log in and required login to do anything including uninstall) and the uninstaller threw an error when trying to launch it.

Game was kinda fun though when I played it all those years ago. At least until I approached the paywall.

I couldn't get into it and I'm a huge DC fan. Doesn't help I played WoW. I wish Turbine or another developer took over the license and made a new game, but even if they did, mmo's seem to be low priority for western studios now.

City of Heroes was the best mmo for the super hero experience.

Biggest problem I had with this game is the combat is awful. There's absolutely no weight to the combat, and it lacks any oomph when you land hits. Just not satisfying at all. And it's all way too framey and laggy.

Still a great, and ever-improving game especially if you're a DC Comics fan. The amount of DC stuff is incredible-- New Gods, all of the Lanterns Corps, Titans, Justice League, Bombshells, tons of Wonder Woman/ Themyscira content, League of Assassins stuff and on and on.

Not sure. They only said PS4/PC.

PS4/PS3 are the same servers. And one of the developers confirmed that Xbox will be segregated from PS/PC side due to Microsoft restrictions.

I'm not sure I'd play it now given how many amazing PS4 games are available, but during the early gen drought I really enjoyed playing this. Great game, well worth a few hours of playtime.

so basically XB1 crossplay comes with an asterisk.

I think the only cross-play games we'll ever see for XB1 are games that are console exclusive on XB1, like that Shodowrun game was on 360.

Are we sure this isn't due to some sort of paid exclusivity paid by Sony like MS said was happening with Final Fantasy XIV? Like PS4/PC crossplay permanent exclusive because of that Sony $$$.

Is there a friend list or anything in the game?

That's why I was saying I recommend it to new MMO players. I already have a MMO to play. I just want to drop in and see how much has changed.

I doubt that even while isolated that it will be on Azure servers.

Seems like adding Legends of Tomorrow content as well

Along with celebrating your birthday, you're about to launch Episode 21, which will focus on "Legends of Tomorrow." For those who don't know, how do Episodes work in the game?

Episodes are our story-based add-ons. We've recently switched to a monthly schedule which offers two pieces of content per month for $4 dollars. If you are a member, you get access to the Episode content at no extra charge.

Obviously, the "Legends of Tomorrow" Episode is related to the upcoming TV show, which is a spin-off of "Arrow" and "The Flash." But how does the game's Episode connect to the TV show?

In Episode 21, one part, "The Final Piece," introduces a mysterious Time Traveler that is putting together a team for an urgent mission. Like the TV series, this mystery figure is recruiting heroes and villains. Episode 21 features Hawkgirl, Hawkman, Captain Cold and Heat Wave, but it also introduces the Atom to the game. The coolest part of all this, though, is that this hero/villain team in the game also features the player character, meaning players will basically get to become a Legend of Tomorrow too.

But while this Episode is inspired by the show, the characters' costumes aren't based on the way they look ion TV. Is there a reason for that?

We are our own universe with our own style, based on Jim Lee's designs from the comics, and we want to make sure we stay true to that for our players. We have a strong relationship with Warner Brothers, and there are definitely times where we are inspired by certain aspects of other events going on in the DC Universe as a whole, such as updating our Supergirl model to coincide with the launch of the TV show. But ultimately, we are our own extension of the DC Universe and strive to make a world that is deep and immersive, not just a reproduction of another.
