Just how angry are you about the SFV PS4 Console Exclusive branding?

This must be new. I browse Best Buy's listings often and haven't seen that branding before. It's also not on any other Street Fighter V listing yet, as far as I've found (Amazon, GameStop, Wal-Mart, etc.)

Shit. I might just have to buy that CE.

e: Does anyone know if the CE has been available to buy yet on Amazon UK, in the past? Currently showing up as unavailable.

Seems a bit too on the nose. But at least it gets the point across. Would have thought they would just go with "PlayStation Exclusive" or something. Since PC is usually ignored in such talk anyway. Still looks ugly though.

Great to see the narrative that PC is not a direct competitor of either consoles is bearing fruits.

I'm 100% okay with "console" exclusives. Let Sony and Microsoft carry on with their petty squabbles.

Doesn't make sense. It reads like "PS4 CONSOLE" + "exclusive game". So, it looks like it's a game exclusive to PS4. It would have been better to put the words "console exclusive" together.

Probably means there is more PS4/PC games. I mean if it warrants a label there must be some kind of reason they're doing this.

Disgusting.

Does it really matter?

Prediction: Blackquill will not return to this thread.

Edit: My prediction was wrong. I'll take my L in some corner.

The game is on PC that's why, even though it's not a "console", the game is still there. Most of people that are not informed and read this will really think that the game is not on PC.

That's extremeley dishonest IMO

Last I checked, PC isn't console... Not sure how that branding is dishonest. SFV isn't Rise of the Tomb Raider. Both Sony and Capcom have confirmed multiple times that any versions of SFV will be console exclusive to Sony systems.

Edit;

Just wanted to add to this;
Who is this going to confuse? The average consumer going to Bestbuy or Walmart to pick up SFV won't have a PC capable of running most games anyway. Those that do have PCs that can run the game, will almost certainly understand that the game is available there, unless they live in a cave and haven't seen the Steam Ads that ran through the PC betas.
The "Exclusive" tag isn't even that big, so it really doesn't take away from the sort of generic box art anyway. It could be worse, they could have it plastered all over the place, like those garbage GOTY editions.

Nothing will beat this, though:

Wish NoE was more consistent with its usage back in the day, though - no third-party GameCube exclusives were marked by this label in Europe while Twilight Princess (Wii+GCN release) was, for some reason.

Like the old 360 boxes!

Could this be averted by some sort of "Only on Microsoft" phrase?

Explain please.....

EDIT: you explained. You're wrong, but you at least explained, so that's cool.

Anyway, yeah the shits ugly but it's small enough to barely matter so meh. That Ryu statues lookin tempting though....I just can't understand why they went for that boring ass pose for a guy that can do Shoryukens and Hadokens. So lame.

You mean all of the people who buy PC games in stores? The branding in on the game box.

Well i guess they can't say "only on PlayStation", but still that's a bit much. Just don't have any branding in that case.

I do think that in one sense its nice that they are educating buyers on the availability of the game by platform i suppose..

Well No Man's Sky will be a big one. But if you watch that latest highlight reel of the 2016 games, there were a few that were branded with that logo.

So because it could confuse people who don't pay enough attention it's dishonest? It would be dishonest if they used "Only on Playstation"

It's because "ps4 console" and "exclusive game" are seemingly different sizes and widths, maybe even font?

It reads and looks like: "this is an exclusive game to the ps4 console".

At least it doesn't say "better on Xbox." I never felt like those motion/voice commands added anything to those games.

Like the old 360 boxes!

I had no idea that Bioshock had that branding...my box only says only on Xbox.

There's tons of PC and PS4 only games coming down the pipe, but the branding does feel weird and unnecessary

The kind of people who are gonna buy SFV on PC are the kind of people who probably already know SFV is coming to PC.

Pretty much. I'm almost certain the average person who walks into a store to buy their games isn't a PC gamer at all. Otherwise they'd be sit at home on GoG/Steam.
