Funny you should mention that as I'm from Grimsby. Accepted a place at Lancaster University for October 2016 to study my masters in e-business, cant wait.
On point, I was referring to the point that Microsoft PR has been extremely deceiving and it shouldn't be taken at face value.

I've never followed the MG franchise but how has it performed vs. previous entries (which are obviously exclusive in nature)?

Is ps4 hugely popular outside the norm for Sony sales? Is it going to peak in sales quickly and decline quickly as well? Ps4 isn't even Sony's most popular console yet let alone be an outlier for sales. Even if ps4 outsold ps2 it would be within a reasonable range over their 4 consoles unless ps4 starts selling double all of a sudden

That would make sense, seeing as this is EASILY their worst holiday lineup in years and years. They were relying on legs from months-old titles and a selection of cheap and crappy cash-ins, and it blew up in their faces.
None of this is news. As soon as Zelda was delayed we knew this Christmas would hurt for Nintendo.

I do expect 2016 to be up from 2015 in terms releases. A lot of software wasn't green lighted until this gen took off

Pretty sure it's definitely not a de facto sequel to Souls games.
NX won't do anything on combined NPDs.
Super Mario Maker, Splatoon did all 1 million but are not in the top 10 for the year. Why? Because every game in the top 10 is a multiplatform release that moved over 2 million.
Heck, Mortal Kombat X was at like 4 million copies in the US and is at #9. That's nearly how many Wii Us are there.
The likes of Yoshi's Woolly World, Majora's Mask, Mario Party 10 debuted in their respective months despite this too. Xenoblade X was obvioysly missing the top 10 in December as it wasn't going to move close to a million like the others did.
So is no surprise that even on games that perform well on Wii U relative to the userbase will miss charts.
NX outside the random Nintendo title in the monthly chart and the multiplatform ports it can get will folow the same. Is not like people will stop buying PS4s and Xbox One games.

The changes konami made to it didn't do any favors, but no it was never going to sit alongside minecraft, NBA or call of duty, or fallout.

TBF don't most games in the Top 10 of Nov and Dec sell near a million or more than a million? Charting above 500k in either month for systems with install base like the Wii U is actually pretty good.
Gotta take WW into consideration there, too.

It definitely is not.
Even then the better gpu and unified ram helped the 360 in areas PS3 struggled. The multiplat advantage towards 360 remained for the whole gen. Comparing exclusive quality is pointless. Uncharted, GOW3 and TLOU looked amazing but so did Alan Wake, Forza, Gears 3 and Halo 4. The Cell was not worth it if you had to jump through a hundred hoops.
Semantics my hind-quarters, it ain't a sequel.

Cosmic, you didn't include Tomb Raider in your list of titles as an option.
Pretty clear Tomb Raider is nowhere close to the Witcher 3 in terms of sales.
I think Halo 5 has a very good change of, at least, selling better than AC Syndicate and Witcher 3.
