http://nintendoeverything.com/ninte...res-and-functionality-to-games-in-early-2016/
Thought it deserved a thread with the retailer listing sparking a rumored delay for Star Fox. It will include amiibo support which will be detailed at a later date.
Twilight Princess HD will launch exclusively as a bundle for those worried about losing out on the free dungeon.
Mario & Sonic 3DS moved up to March 18 for a MSRP $39.99 and will also support amiibo.
The new AC amiibo will also launch March 18th. The amiibo include:
Timmy & Tommy, Kapp’n and Rover. (Digby will also be made available as a stand-alone)
And finally the Pokemon amiibo will be getting restocked as part of the anniversary

Excellent. Thank you for making this. I was just bumping the recent SF0 threads.

Eh, I think it should've been delayed further. Now maybe the July delay is a European thing only ?

The one delay for extra polish was all we were ever going to get, I think. I doubt Nintendo wants to sink even more resources and time into what is all but guaranteed to be a low seller.

Pokken and Mario and Sonic the same day? Day before my birthday too :)
Good news about Star Fox although I wouldn't mind any delay it gets, I loved what I played at E3 but the more development time the better.

Looks like all Pokemon Amiibo is being restocked soon, too, with the implication of Jigglypuff no longer being Target exclusive.

Half the Wii U's library this year is launching in March.

Edit: Oh, Mario and Sonic is just the 3DS version. That makes more sense.

Ah well glad to know I don't have to wait too long for Star Fox. Still curious to know what my Fox and Falco amiibo will do in the game.

So something important is happening past the middle of the year?

i mean they are unnecessarily stalking the little Wii U releases they have in the first two quarters. Weird indeed...

For example, early march could have been Zelda and after that one release each month and a half.

Hmm, I hope that doesn't mean TP HD as a whole will be rare. Those pre-orders sold out really quickly.

I think this is why they waited a few months after the game was complete to release it. So they could make enough amiibos. Same with Yoshi's western October release last year, and there are plenty of those on the shelves. And I'm sure they know demand for Zelda is bigger than for Yoshi. I don't expect them to be scarce come release, despite fast selling preorders that have fluctuated in and out of stock. My thinking is that Nintendo want this to be a big success and has made a ton of amiibos for the bundle.

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
Just to clarify, Mario & Sonic is the 3DS version, that's coming on March 18th (and it was already known).

3 Wii U games in March!

Edit: Nvm that is probably Mario and sonic 3ds.

Yep, I came in here to reiterate this. We are getting three big Wii U games in March and April, though, and I think ordinarily Pokkén would have been Nintendo's May game. All the more reason to think focus will be on an NX concept reveal at the least in March or April with a full blowout reveal at E3.

But that's the thing, why hurt even more the sales of your current money makers?

i mean they unveil their next project between now and E3. And then sit around like idiots withouth any meaningful software until a potential November release of the next console?

Star Fox was perfect for another delay until July. The title needs all the time it can get, the series is at stake since it hasn't had a critical acclaimed release after the N64 version.

I will say all this PR is making me think no Nintendo Direct w/ TPHD info blowout and RHTB+, Picross 3D2, Style Savvy (USA) localizations. Therefore, I expect those games to still come but to be announced in PR or a mini Direct instead, with no Direct this or next month.

I'd be thrilled to be wrong, though!

Interesting....so now the release dates for the Wii U line up for upcoming games are really close together.
-Twilight Princess HD: Early March
-Mario & Sonic and Pokken: March 18th
-Star Fox Zero: April 22

I really wonder if this means that March/May/June are going to get Wii U game announcements in the coming month or two; this could mean that they are blowing their final load of Wii U software for the first half of the year (outside of Zelda U) to focus on the NX this fall.

I'm guessing possible Wii U games could be an HD Remaster of a GC game or Pikmin 4.

Edit: This also points to when we will finally hear about the NX, which I feel will be sometime in April after Star Fox Zero's release. I see Feb or March getting a massive Nintendo Direct aimed at Wii U and 3DS for final wave of announcements for both systems then a teaser for the NX at the very end with 'More information coming soon!' said.

I'd say that this dumping of games represents Nintendo cutting the Wii U adrift, not Nintendo preparing a new salvo of games.

I could be wrong, but I don't think I am.

It also means that besides Zelda Wii U ( and ShinXEmblem crossover) there still 1 or 2 not announced Wii U games in their pipeline.

It's the only way this all makes sense, specially if following the logic that the NX first component is the handheld part.

So you're thinking that we will be getting a......four month Wii U game drought after Star Fox? ....I could see that honestly, so you're likely right.

Then in September, it kicks off with #FE releasing and November comes with Zelda and the NX launch line up (3D Mario and WarioWare/Wii Sports Team projects a shoe-in for this).

I take it this is being announced because in PR because we are not getting a January Direct? I always assumed there'd be a reasonable one if we were getting NX news pre E3.

Strap on your hooker ...
Would be nice if we got Slippy and Peppy amiibos in the style of the Fox and Falco ones to complete the squad.

I think its a safe bet that we aren't getting one this month and its being saved for Feb or March.

They likely want to close the direct teasing the NX but they can't do it this early (the best time would be Feb/March), as if they do it latter they could arrange and NX Direct for May that shows off the system, some features, what it looks like and one or two launch games. Then E3 comes around and we get even more information with all the launch games announced.

But you are not following your own logic... XD

Hear me out:

Assuming they are indeed letting the Wii U sink as the other poster claims. Then why compact most of their last releases so close together for no apparent benefits?

They just could spread them better across several months and have better results with zero detrimental consequences. There's something extra that we don't know of.

Mmm......I guess this means they are going to rely on the 3DS line up to compensate for the lacking summer Wii U line up then? Or they will release more Wii U games (remaster of GC game(s)) to pad out the line up?

I could see them supporting Star Fox like Splatoon with more modes, features, maps and a MP mode too, but not expecting that.

I hope the Mario & Sonic at Rio for Wii U is not canceled. I want my decent rugby game.

From this PR my assumption is that there won't be any Nintendo Direct until the announcement of NX. I hope that at least that announcement doesn't happen after April.

So only people who buy the game through the eshop won't have access to the dungeon?

Or they could import the amiibo from Europe.

On the other hand i think there's 99% chance we get a Direct before any NX official announcements, detailing TP:HD, Pokken and Star Fox.

Also i think the first major announcement, outsides of directs, will be for their new account service and the Mobile games. Not for the NX unveiling.

Nintendo confirmed a while back that the Wii U version is still coming and its rumored to be an August release. Considering the Wii U might not be getting the anniversary game (which I could see if its PS4/X1/PC/NX only), then Mario & Sonic will be the anniversary game for Wii U owners. So releasing it in August where little else is out is a smart move.

We didn't get a direct for Mario Maker. Most Pokken news are handled differently, TP:HD amiibo usage was just done through a trailer shared on twitter and FB. We'll see.

The thing is, NOA doesn't release console titles in July barely ever and seems to try to avoid June and sometimes August as well. So we're looking at May, maybe August, and then you're nearly at the new release season in September. Let's say #FE arrives in those two months. Then maybe cross-platform Pikmin 4 and Zelda U in the Fall. With eShop games that can be enough for this year if NX releases this year.

July/June = same difference. The main point is why these titles aren't been released in a more spaced out manner to maximize sales potential and mitigate patform irrelevancy?

Anyway, you seem to agree here since you are considering Pikmin 4, which we have confirmation of it existance but not platform. Pikmin falls in the case i proposed earlier of 1 or 2 extra Wii U titles we might not know anything about yet.
