Any ideas on where I can secure the ant-man set outside of paying double for it? 40$ for a 150 pieceish set is pretty insane.

I'll check my local stores tonight. If they have one, I'll pick it up for you for cost + shipping. I think my Meijers had 2 sets as of last Friday.

I ordered mine from the Disney Online store after someone here pointed out they had some.

$29.95, but that's about the same cost as getting all the minifgs...
But it looks like they are sold out now.

Brickset report on Super Heroes was well worth the wait. They answered a lot of the questions I had with quite a good amount of details.

Great! I can get Flama and Axl as separate figures and not have to get any other sets unless they look really interesting. With my Infernox set on the way I have the rest of the main crew already.

"Four Ultimate sets are being released in the summer. These contain Axl, Lance, General Magmar and Flama."

These Ultimate sets are very nice to get the minifigs and the come with a lot of nice parts. If they ever go on sale, I'll grab a bunch of duplicates of all of them.

So after probably 12-15 years of not building a LEGO set (I'm 29 right now), I'm getting Poe's X-Wing in the mail later in the week! Pretty excited to get back into building a set and my wallet is already crying (as is my wife) as I look at the TIE Fighter and Millenium Falcon longingly...

Cool to see a big LEGO community thread, though! I'll definitely be checking in here and there.

Don't you dare get my hopes up high like that! OMG, a Lego KITT would be a dream come true.

And just think of the extra money they could make off of you by making a K.A.R.R. alternate.

That teminds me that I need to pick that set up. It looks like this year Spidey's rogues gallery will be significantly fleshed out. I need to ensure Rhino and Sandman are in my collection!

Edit: I kind of like the brick built Rhino!

Ewww...That was one case where I couldn't replace my Chinese version with the official Lego version when it finally came out. I still need to get that set too though for the Sandman and Iron Spidey figs.

The Chinese Rhino's face is kind of jacked up. I'll swap both out once I get the other sets and display the one that looks best with all the other minifigs.

Welcome to ABS Anonymous. If you are trying to maintain a sensible budget, you may want to stay away from this thread. Just sayin'.

This is a surprisingly fast moving OT with lots of news and updates. I would bet we're one of the most active (and friendly) communities in the OT forum.

I've been lurking here for a while in kind of the same situation, except in my case I think it's been 22 years. Reading this thread gets you every bit as hyped as anything over on the gaming side :) So far I've picked up the Holiday Toy Shop and a couple of the DC Super Heroes sets. I'm afraid to get started on Star Wars, I don't have room for all that stuff.

Just got back from a week in the Caribbean where there is no LEGO to be found.

I still haven't built anything in a while but I'm feeling the urge....have the second wave of SW sets finally made their way to North America yet? I'm still seeing tons of empty shelves in both Toronto and DC.

Just found out about this interesting theme today. K'nex clone.

It's really dumb on my part, but it really bothers me that people keep calling the colors light/dark bluish grey, or bley. The old greys do not exist anymore, therefore the new greys should just be called light/dark grey.

The bluish part is unnecessary as well, should've just been old and new greys when the switch was made.

You're not being dumb. That actually makes a lot of sense. It's legacy from the transition to current grey and propagated by many AFOLs including myself. It'll be easy for me to switch just like switching from English measurement system to the metric system. :)

I call them light grey and dark grey myself, but I'm forced to use the jargon when going on bricklink.

Can't they just change it to "old dark grey" and "old grey"?

I thought something was wrong with my eyes when I first heard bley. I know what blue grey is but for LEGO i see dark and light grey.

Well, despite no posted instructions I was able to figure out the arms of the Stormtrooper mod posted a handful of pages ago. Now I've got to figure out the legs and the torso.. But I'm pretty happy with it so far. Waiting for some more pieces from bricklink to finish the hands.

I've also done my own take of TR-8R's weapon until more pieces come in.

So I caved and bought up a Mos Eisley Cantina and I'm so glad I did it's such a great set! I love how you can fold it up, how the the band area and sitting area can be pushed out from the inside, the bar is really cool, Dewback is huge and awesome! The minifigs are all fantastic especially the sandtrooper. I used to have the 7110-1: Landspeeder when I was growing up so building the superior one with this set was both nostalgic and cool to see how things have improved over the years.

All in all it was a lot of fun building this set. I'd like some more Star Wars sets that aren't vehicles. Shame my return to Lego wasn't when Jabba's palace released. :(

Need to buy a sand baseplate for the cantina and try to get some more minifigs to fill it out. Could really do with a someone to tend the bar.

and what are the odds service will be quicker versus just getting the missing pieces from Bricks & Pieces directly? i'm about to put my order in

I filled out the request for the Wall-E neck fix and I got an auto-reply that it was back ordered and it would eventually be shipped to me. This was on 12/24. They said it was back ordered until the 18ish of January. On the 21st of this month I got an email saying it shipped out, and I just got the package. So about a month leeway. Not a big deal, not really losing sleep over it but it was free and very very convenient. Hope that helps!

okay. i sent a request through Customer Service email and hope that works well enough

thanks

I put together the little BvS Clash of Heroes set. I modified it a little from a playset to more of a display set. It looks pretty nice and that Batman is ace.

If it's still available to you at close to MSRP, buy a second one.

Not sure if this is the one I saw before, but here is an example of two combined.

More photos of it here....

Here's a different one.

Welp, forgot to preorder the marvel game for that Iron Man, you guys think they'll get extras in the store or will eBay by the way to go?

Depends on manager. They will have some extra to dole out. I've seen people beg for preorder bonuses in line before, sometimes they will do it but there might be a catch. For example in one instance the manager gave one after the person agreed to preorder another game right then and there as a compromise.
