Vita can't connect to PSN store on firmware 3.57

I see the store fine, but random games don't load because "This service is currently undergoing maintenance."

And I have the same issue as others where that message comes up when trying to browse your download list.

I've had this issue on the European PS4 store since launch. Sometimes it works and other times I have to reset the system. I generally keep my distance from the store app and do my shopping from the PSN site.

I don't think it's the new firmware update. If anything, the issues a few of us have been reporting are becoming more widespread.

I've had trouble with the PSN store on the Vita for a while now. I takes several tries to go into the store. When I'm finally able to start a download, the store just dies on me. I have to restart it if I want to keep browsing.

Yep, I've been trying to download some dlc and I can only do it during one launch of the store because if I'm not fast enough, I'm hit with the "Could not connect in time..." error.

Store connectivity on Vita has been absolute trash since even before this update, but now it's even worse. It doesn't help that the wifi on the LCD Vita is particularly awful.

It's a constant struggle to get into the PSN store on Vita. Always have timeouts and errors. And this for several months now!

I have the same problem but I thought it's my router or something! Glad I am not the only one :) If I can get downloads to start though, they finish without problems :)

Sony, why don't you remote-brick our Vitas and call it a day? This slow dismemberment of Vita is becoming like a segment from movie "Saw".

Make sure the unit is turned off.
Hold down the right trigger, PS button and power button for five-ten seconds.
When you reach the boot menu, select the "Rebuild Database" option, #2 I think?

That worked for me. I had the same issue and all is well now.

I tried this, however I am still getting the issues.

I wish I could say this worked for me. :(

I don't even bother with the PlayStation Store on my Vita anymore. I'm just running with the games I was able to download (in-between a litany of errors and disconnects) and that's that.

In a way, I should thank Sony for actively working to save me cash by making the PlayStation Store experience so fucking awful that no game is worth the hassle of trying to purchase it.

It's strange because yesterday (immediately after updating) I've entered PS Store on Vita and downloaded 2 games bought at the Indie Sale (Actual Sunlight and Heroes of Loot), just fine no errors.

Today I cannot enter PS Store though.

I had some issues on the weekend but right now is working great no i9ssues browsing or downloading stuff

In fact the download list is super responsive when it would always time out before, maybe give it another try?

Seriously frustrated with this. Tried restoring. Tried turn on/off. Tried rebuilding the database. Tried deleting and re-inputting wifi settings. Tried turning off and removing my memory card.n nothing working. There's a large-ish thread on the vita subreddit about it too, in addition to the official PlayStation forums.

Sony's probably hosting the Vita store on one employee's work PC.

They don't have to have Shu pretend when Greg Miller asks him what's going on with Vita or host servers for dead games... but they could at the very least not step on the Vita's twilight years of remaining localization prospects and indie ports by cutting back the cord on basic functionality outside Japan. If PSP was cut like that, we'd have never seen releases like Brandish and Class of Heroes 2 etc.

So first the PS3's automatic update feature stops working (and over a month later still isn't fixed) but now the Vita can't load the store? This is messed up.

Things like this makes me nervous to buy a Vita. You can still download your games to your Vita remotely through the webstore, right?

I've had this issue as well for about six months, definitely not related to the new firmware.

On some days when the PSN network is busy (first day of flash sale or the like) I just give up, otherwise I usually manage to download my games after a few attempts.

What does not help the issue is the fact that my vita download list displays all these PS3 and PS4 games. Who ever thought this was a good idea?

Yeah, atleast for me and my experience, it's a pain to browse or look up items in the psn. I can still buy games, dlc, etc and download them without a problem but it's just a pain when the psn store crashes "often". Sometimes it crashes sometimes it doesn't.

I don't know if my experience helps at all, but I only got my Vita in mid-December last year, and from day 1 PSN has been an iffy experience. The actual interface is way faster and better than on the PS3, but on the first day I kept getting so many connection errors I almost couldn't buy anything from it. Since then it has been getting better, but I still have problems on some days where it would throw "could not connect in time" errors a few times while I'm just trying to browse the store to look for new stuff. It's really frustrating.

Have there been any reports of batteries dying quicker?

I swear my Vita's battery has been draining almost completely in a single day when it used to last for weeks.

Yeah, noticed that as well with new firmware. Even in standby battery dies very quickly. What the heck is going on here.

Been having issues getting on the Store as well... I just bought a PS4 and so far the experience is horrible. Disconnecting controllers, horrible online, and constant error codes.... Disgusting!!!!!

I don't know if you know but under Power Save Settings, Use Wi-Fi in Power Save Mode should be unchecked. Setting has nothing to do with connecting to wifi while the Vita is asleep. It helped improve my connection issues, still didn't stop them but made it better.

Same issue here. Charged it last night and the battery is already dead in the morning. Man this update really screwed things up

If you're having any of these three then there is something wrong with your DS4, PS4 or connection.

Haven't run into this on my Vita yet, but my PS3's automatic updates haven't worked since December and twice now my PS4 has semi-overheated itself because the system went into some sort of perma-run mode in rest mode after the recent "stability" update.

I fully reset my vita (backing up first) and it seemed to fix the PS store issues. Not sure about the battery life yet.

The battery issues are worrying.. I'm going to test that over the next days

I hope you're contacting Sony about this

Any details? Are you having a game running before going to standby? Do you suspend it first or do you put the Vita in sleep mode while it's running? Which game?

Or is it also draining faster if no game is running?

The only issue I have with my Vita is that sometimes it won't play the games I download on there and I will repeatedly get some sort of error message through half the game library. Annoying as hell. Some games work some days while others don't and vice versa.

I experienced the issue with the game running on pause (hit the PS button to switch from the app) as well as with no game running and even the game cartridge out of the Vita. So had the problem in both situations. Its really annoying. I don't "think" the runtime while gaming is worse but I love suspend/resume, it was a major plus for the vita (could stay that way for a week before).

yeah if its happening in all these cases its definitely a problem

Sounds as bad as the 3DS now :p

They need to get it fixed

Yeah, it's worse then 3DS now which is ridiculous when coming from amazing suspend/resume model before. That said, after resetting so far so good but its only been couple of hours.

Can't connect my Vita to the store at all at the moment. Just sits on "please wait" forever, and pushing from the web store isn't working. Connectivity is just fine for everything else on it. Bah.
