Yay, Belle! The Disney princesses have been disappointing, but I can't resist that set. Oh, and the lion wallpiece is back in production. Good news for Market Street builders.

Gotta get the white dragon too, and possibly a few of the hooded elves if they look good.

Score! The new Doctor Who Dimensions sets are available locally.I finally have my own Cyberman.

C'mon Lego, the trim on the Hot Dog Cart absolutely should have been red and yellow. The only reason they made it red and pink was to make it have a "girl" color in it since it's a Friends set but it's so obvious that it should be red and yellow for ketchup and mustard.

Why the hell hasn't City does a fair theme like this? That little rocket ride looks fantastic, as does the roller coaster. I'm totally gonna be buying some of these.

Ideally I'd have my modulars set up in a U shape, with Town Hall in the center, and then behind it would be the Creator Ferris Wheel and surrounding that would be the Roller Coaster and the little Rocket ride. I have absolutely no space for that though unless I set it up in my office and clear off the second half of my L-shape desk to purely be a diorama of Lego...

Eh, well back to cold on Ninjago except for that bad ass Green Dragon. That is a thing of beauty and will be locked in eternal battle with my Morro Dragon.

I think it's over. There were rumors of a possible Comic Book Shop set, but we would have heard something by now as the Simpsons stuff launches in April. Plus, there's no Simpsons CMF planned for this year to go with one. Since they refuse to do Moe's and the Power Plant, at least we got the two other most iconic locations from the series.

Since they're starting a Disney CMF line, I'd personally like to see them replace the $200 Simpsons sets with a yearly $200 Disneyland set. Magic Castle, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Splash Mountain, etc. As popular as the Simpsons were/are I have a feeling that people will go absolutely nuts for Disney stuff, and age-wise it appeals to a much wider audience. Wall-E alone is practically impossible to keep on our shelves.

Ever since building silver mine shootout I've been longing for a splash mountain set in a somewhat similar style, I need it!

The figures in the Beast castle look good but that castle looks pretty awful, very bland. With that said, I'm sure my daughter will still want it.

oh wow

i like that. gets little girls interested in the technic line as well i would hope

I was joking, sorta. Anyway, I thought of that example as a joke as it stuck out when I was looking at 41128-1: Amusement Park Space Ride photo. Especially since the part I was looking at isn't used very often in non-technic sets from what I've seen.

Quick check on Brickset shows that part is actually in another Friends set and 5 other non-technic sets (since 2008). Interesting that it only started being used in non-technic sets starting in 2014.

Completely missed seeing that photo. That's a must get set for me.

I agree. Friends is getting a lot of amazing set designs that I can't believe haven't been in the City theme.

Ninjago has been killing it with the brick-built head dragons. It's a shame they had to reduce some to fit into smaller sets.

After letting the Sea Cow slip away from my grasp I have decided to hunt one down. Prices have skyrocketed and I believe it is partly due to it not being hoarded like crazy. It is going to cost me but hopefully I can find a reasonable price (I have a limit). I figure now is the best chance as prices won't be any better as time moves on. Sub $100 markup would be best.

The lesson here is to buy a set if you really want it and can afford it.

There's a used one on eBay right now. Might be your best bet (except that you'd have to disassemble and reassemble).

Yep. Buy now, keep or sell later.

I'm located in Canada which means any price in USD is going to be a killer. Pretty much everything on eBay is in USD including the sets from Canada. Have to tack on shipping costs and import costs from eBay. I could probably find a sealed set cheaper locally.

My plan is to buy, build, display. It's just one of those sets that may never see the day of light again. It's so unique and huge that I could see this being the one and only time TLG releases the Sea Cow or anything close to resembling it. Even if it appears again in the LEGO universe I doubt TLG would release it for a 2nd time. It is up there as one of my favourite sets that I have seen.

Makes me wonder what they have in store for The LEGO Movie 2.

Man, my problem with buying a retired, valuable set would be that I wouldn't want to open it! I have a sealed Republic Gunship that I got for $100 off of Craigslist and as awesome as it would be to display it, I just can't bring myself to open it. But good luck on finding one!

Yup my thoughts exactly! Was talking about it yesterday in our GAF toy chat. but I didn't want to post about it cause I'm sure people are sick of hearing me bitch about the boring job LEGO has done on Spidey minifig releases :p But hey at least we are getting that cool head varaint in the next wave in those racing sets.

I'm going to have to get that sandman set so that I have the red boot mold variant, since it looks like they may have abandoned the idea.

I am just glad they are doing all the classic Spider-man foe and allies. I am not feeling the new cartoon version that they put out last few years (the Goblin was just weird). Also they figures on display could also be placeholder.

I love the new cloak/ear element. These look amazing.

I think this is the first time we'll have widespread access to that Lex figure outside of the polybag, correct? Also, thank the leader we'll have a cheap way to get more princess mini dolls. My youngest has lost so many of them.

The hood/ear combo would be even more amazing in reddish brown (or should I just call it brown) or dark green.

Oh right, gonna have to get that Juniors Set so I finally have a Lex Luthor Power Armor since the Mech didn't come with one.

The armor looks like it is lime color while the exclusive giveaway one was bright green. The exclusive also had a minor purple print on the shoulder part. Still a great minifig to get. Since I have the exclusive one, I'll wait for a decent sale or clearance to get that set...hold on. Took a closer look. The body and leg colors are different too. It's almost inverted. It looks like it has more of the same color pattern as Lex Luthor in the Super Friends cartoon. Crap, I definitely need that variant. Well played LEGO, well played. I shouldn't expect anything less.

Does anyone have 75087-1: Anakin's Custom Jedi Starfighter? I had no idea they made this! trying to get it cheap from bricklink because it's such a kickass ship design. Plus I really want a Ventress minifig.

It is still available from Lego in my region (Belgium), but that's not cheap offcourse (55 euro). Maybe look around at toy shops?

Lego is smart, this is how they get you, those sneaky variants. They learned from the action figure business. I refuse to play their game though! (Not true)

First time noticing the new 2016 sets out in the wild and just realised that the boxes for sets have gotten much smaller.

I remembered TLG saying this was an area they were going to be concentrating on as a business a few years ago, but if I didnt know the piece count of the set/contents i'd have almost said I was being cheated.

As a side note, actual Nexo Knights box-art is kick-ass. Looks great and im more than happy to say ive now jumped in!

I've got it, yeah. It took months before I even saw it on store shelves and even then it disappeared very quickly. I don't think it's discontinued yet but if you're interested now is the time to get it.

It's an awesome ship design and a fun build.

They have been reducing the box size on some current sets with new box designs. Brick Bank comes in a smaller box in comparison to previous modulars.

Not a bad thing as it helps reduce waste.

I remember when Apple would package an iPod in a huge box with packaging material galore.

Picked up a Kylo Ren shuttle with box and instructions but no minifigures for $40 from Craigslist. Figured it's a good price for 900+ pieces to add to the bulk bin.

You should at least build it first. It is a cool and imposing model, with some nice techniques (the folding wings for one).

I already have one built and displayed. :) Even with all the bad rap about it not being the right color and the wings not folding down for flight mode, I still love it! The ship is big for just under 1000 pieces and imposing like you said. It's also very solid and swooshable. When I get some time, I'm going to mod the wings into flight mode and build a stand for it. I think flight mode will look great on display.

I checked around some shops in a new town. No real finds (some old LotR sets but not the expensive ones), but I found a few more CMF15 and two of the new Mixels, with the rounded tiles.

I'm a fan of smaller box sizes as it makes them much easier to store. But I can understand any reluctance to do on Lego's part because of how people associate box size and set pricing.

Sorry for the questions but i'm still trying to figure out what I may order in Feb. Are those missing Star Wars sets supposed to be out on Feb. 1st? Like the new microfighters and that Attack on Hoth set?

I thought word was they were pushed to March.

If they are indeed Feb 1st that would be good to know.

Unbelievable that LEGO would only ship 1 of the 6 new microfighters to stores since Jan 1st. What a terrible handling of the situation.

It's also weird review sites like Jang and Brickshow got some of them and the Ninjago sets. Apparently it looks like they got them from EU, but thats weird too if its March for Americas.

I want some of the microfighters like The Ghost and AT-DP and would like that Attack on Hoth set (since thats the only Hoth set we are getting this year)

I think they're running dry on buildings that will sell to a large audience based on the Simpsons. The school is the only other one I can think of. It won't bother me too much if we don't get any more with the exception of the lack of a radiation man minifig to go with Fallout boy

Both channels will order the sets wherever they can get them first, so yeah I totally believe they got them from europe. The shipping to get them in a decent timeframe probably wasn't a joke either.

Some of the Jang reviews feature the price and the price-per-part information in GBP instead of USD, leading me to believe that those sets are probably imported (as opposed to being bought locally).

I feel like they should have done Krusty Burger before calling it a day. Smaller and more doable than the school, and as far as I know Lego doesn't have a fast food restaurant set so it would appeal to both Simpsons fans as well as normal Lego collectors, like the Kwik-E-Mart did. Plus we coulda gotten a Sideshow Bob minifig. ):

And I also regret not getting a Radioactive Man minifig. Why the shit did they have to waste 5 spots in Series 2 with remakes of the family? They could have put Bart Man in the Kwik-E-Mart set. As it stands if you have both minifig series and the house you have THREE sets of the family. If you have the KEM then you have FOUR Marge and Bart minifigs. Ugh.

I'm not sure what the sales were like for the big Simpsons sets or the minifigs, but whether they were good or bad it seems weird to me they wouldn't try a single "normal" sized set. Even one small wave to test it out. I know that most of my friends are into The Simpsons but not really into Lego...they marvel at my Simpsons House and Kwik-E-Mart but balked at the price (a few of them have bought minifigs).

Could do a couch gag set with the family and some sort of action feature, Otto and the schoolbus (maybe include Skinner), Homer's plant station, Bart's treehouse, yada yada. There's a bunch of things to do.

Of course I'd still like another $200 set too lol. If it is over I wish they'd say so so I can stop getting my hopes up.

There are a lot of missed opportunities with the Lego Simpsons line if they just drop it now. I have the feeling, though, that Simpsons is honestly too "adult" for Lego, which is 1) why they left it to only expensive sets that most kids would never buy, 2) left out so many locations and characters and 3) cancelled it after only two sets.

Lego is super swishy on their whole "appropriate for kids" rule. They won't do Moe's because it's a bar, and it would then be selling children a toy that's a bar. But they will put a wine cellar in the Parisian Restaurant. But that's a $200 set, so it's not "aimed" at children.

They won't do the Winchester, the pub from Shaun of the Dead, because they are a family company. Presumably this means that like Moe's, they don't want to sell a bar set to children. But there's also the aspect to it of, if a kid buys this set, and then wants to know what movie it's from, and finds out it's from an adult movie, Lego will be in hot water from parents.

So like is that why they're killing the Simpsons stuff? Because kids are buying the figures and then wanting to watch the show and parents are getting upset because it's not appropriate for children? And if that's the case, why would they license out Jurassic World, a property based on a PG-13 movie brimming with death and violence? Or a Big Bang Theory set, which is also filled with inappropriate content?

I just don't get it sometimes.
