Vita can't connect to PSN store on firmware 3.57

Yep, I can't access the store since the latest firmware.

Re-bought FFIX yesterday through the web store after reading the thread here but I can't download the bloody thing.

Kinda annoying.

It got worse. Now, it's stuck on "Please wait" whenever I try to get into the store. Sending the downloads from the webstore to the Vita isn't working either. I could try a backup and reset to see if it that fixes things but, the last time I tried that, the backup files were somehow corrupted. I lost all my saves and had to redownload everything.

all this problem caused by sony because they want to destroy any trace to the PSP hack on Vita.
i mean,come on.
it's not like the Vita is popular like the 3DS.

Weird. I was thinking about picking up a vita today. Guess not.

Also, slightly off-topic, when was the last time the vita had a price cut? Is it due for one? Should I hold off even longer?

I thought it was just me. Couldn't go into PSN Store to download Square Enix games I bought on my phone. Stuck on "Please wait"

I guess their idea is hacking on a niche system = death.

I mean, the system is already dead with major official support beyond this quick hunting patch game. What do they gain by going after a niche of a niche? Worried it will be a PSP situation? That would really only be so if not for the fact the PSP was a success and the Vita is not.

It's just like Wii U hacks, I'd presume: they exist, but they're so niche nobody gives a shit. Can't Wii U games already be pirated, even discounting emulation?

Okay, I tried six times now. Waiting for the store to load doesn't take more than 2 seconds.

I also have absolutely no problem browsing the store.

I do have a small problem with the download list. I get an error when trying to access it, or going to my library to fast. It works after a couple of tries though.

I think I got lucky with this update. I do have to check on the thing with the battery though.

Not to my knowledge. There are some hacks you can do, regarding the memory, to unlock smash dlc, for example.

Is there a 'download to vita' function like there is on PS4? Is there an alternate means to put games on the vita without interacting with the store?

Yeah it doesn't seem to affect everyone equally or all the time. A few days ago I literally couldn't browse the download list at all, now it seems to work without a problem. I also never had difficulties simply accessing the store.

It's not that it didn't work, you have to wait a bit before the download takes effect on your vita.

It took me about 20-40 mins before Duodecim downloaded back in July. It's extremely finicky, just be patient.

the problem it's just PSP stuff , not native vita hacks. they already killed the mobile vita in 3.52.

even nintendo stopped bothering with the DS hacks on 3DS.
do sony have all that time to patch the Vita like that ? what the point ?

I had the same issue this morning, this afternoon, I turned off the system, turned it back on and I was able to connect to the store, however, it didn't seem to work properly. I was looking for Sketchcross, a game that I bought and wanted to download but the search didn't work. When I try to look for it under games, the store just froze and wouldn't respond.

Same issue as everyone else, upgraded firmware for my 2000. I never had this issue prior to this patch and like others, the battery life is now junk. It lasts about a day in standby whereas it was literally weeks before.

As per someone's suggestion, I queued the download through the webstore and I was able to download the game, however, it seems really silly that I needed such a workaround. At this point, I wish I could roll back the firmware update and just play the games that I had with the battery life that was there before.

Can't connect my Vita to the store at all at the moment. Just sits on "please wait" forever, and pushing from the web store isn't working. Connectivity is just fine for everything else on it. Bah.

Did you try DB rebuild? If it does not work you may have to reset your vita. I would suggest backing up to the computer first though as lately vita downloads have not been reliable.

You know what also annoys me. Missing capability to download and transfer Vita apps from PS4. As people put away their PS3s that just needs to be included (not that I would disconnect my PS3 for the foreseeable future).

If you restart Vita it usually kicks in quickly (still a few minutes past restart and reconnect). Last couple months have been annoying to say the least on the Vita and PS3 firmware fronts. At least PS3 is fairly reliable in downloading from the web store. Hmm... this reminds me that I really need to get another PS3 backup going on regular basis.

Yes actually I just tried that and it got me past the "please wait" screen, and as soon as I did it the Duodecim download I had queued up on the web store earlier started up.

The timeout errors that everyone gets are still popping up but at least can get to the store now!

Called Sony to try and have them see what they could do.

To say they were less than helpful was an understatement. Spent 45 minutes on the phone with them to have them rebuild my database, test my internet connection speeds and power cycle my router. Amateur stuff

No fix. They said the store issue was a known issue and they were looking into it with no expected completion date or solution.

I tried the database rebuilding option and the store loaded just fine for me. Here's hoping a fix comes ASAP for those affected still.

That's what CS does. It's almost pointless to go though their help process, but that's not really their fault. I'm sure 90% of the problems they get are actually fixed by this.

For bigger problems like this I usually just send an email or a tweet letting them know of the issues, as no CS rep will be able to help you anyway.

Regarding battery issues: I've had my Vita on standby now for 18 hours, no game running, WiFi on, and the battery is still full. So no issues there for me. I'll try it with a suspended game later today. My guess right now is that it's also related to the PSN issues, where the Vita wants to connect to PSN in standby to do its thing, but fails so it tries again and again, using a lot of power for WiFi. But that could very well be completely wrong. I just don't really see what could be causing a faster battery drain otherwise.

If you have battery issues, do you have WiFi on? Could you try leaving the Vita in standy with WiFi disabled?

I had an issue where the store was timing out every few seconds on PSTV. Turned out I had the "use WiFi in power save mode" checked. I unchecked it and the issue almost entirely disappeared immediately.

Really strange. You guys had me worried, but I updated my 1000 yesterday to download Persona Golden, FFIV, Tactics Ogre, and Parasite Eve and connected no problem. Everything working as usual.

Yeah, noticed that as well with new firmware. Even in standby battery dies very quickly. What the heck is going on here.
I'm gonna check it when I get home. I turned my Vita all the way off last night and then plugged it in to charge and it seems to be holding the charge better than before.

It was still at full battery when I woke up this morning. I'll check it again at lunch and then when I get off work.

Count me in for having issues after installing the latest firmware. Can't connect to the store at all, which means my PSN games can't be authenticated. Does Sony even bother testing anymore?

I randomly get ''can't connect'' errors when it tries to load something on the store (selecting/buying a game...) but clicking OK allows me to continue. This was happening even on the previous firmware and the latest update seems to have decreased the number of errors considerably.

Wow! I just checked my Vita and.....yep, system died in it's sleep. What the heck?! This is a 1000 model, White. Also had experienced this before but thought nothing of it.....and also experienced the "Please wait...." store bug too. PS3 doesn't have it any better? I haven't turned mine on yet since the Tomorrow Children Beta on PS4.....

Hope Sony sorts this stuff out....

I used Vita Update Blocker and while I can connect to the store trying to download Resogun hangs on Please Wait... maybe it's a server issue? I'm on 3.55 and am having the same issues others have on 3.57.
