Rumor: The Division Closed Beta Runs at 1080p Resolution on Xbox One

Since this is an Ubisoft game with a Microsoft marketing deal I'm sure we can expect PS4 parity to avoid all the debates and stuff.

Why people keep bringing up AC Unity as an example of forced parity? Don't you guys remember how bad it ran on Ps4 too? They didn't made it 900p because of parity, they clearly couldn't get it to 1080p.

...lacks reading comprehension.
I wait for DF. I am sure they'll have something tomorrow.

Also, The Division looks so damn bland compared to the reveal trailer, not even funny.

I just rewatched the reveal gameplay, it looks pretty much like the beta. Just the physx effects are missing, so a lot less debris on the streets and the cars don't have as much physical destruction. But textures, lighting, details look all pretty much the same.

In a world post-Rise of the Tomb Raider I thought all the bullshit claims suggesting Xbox One couldn't output a good-looking game at 1080 would have been squashed.

alas....

Tomb Raider is not open-world and has hidden loads. 1080p in a seamless open world game like The Division is nice accomplishment if they didn't have to make any noticeable sacrifices to get there.

Developers don't just take a snapshot and release a build in a day. It was probably branched from their main development branch a month or a few before and had tests and fixes specifically getting it ready for early playtime.

That's without stating that optimisation is the last thing developers do.

The words straight out of my mouth.

The XB1/PS4 bait is nice too, especially considering we don't even know how it runs on PS4 yet. I'd avoid wasting my time on frivolous arguments with incomplete data sets and see what DF have to say in a few days

Some of the hubs in Tomb Raider are incredibly massive, open, and it may as well be an open-world game.

"Hidden loads" are done by every game, including traditional open-world games.

Well there is Rainbow Six Siege tho.

I wasn't aware Rainbow Six had a marketing deal at all. Certainly didnt seem like there was one. The Division is clearly in a whole other league when it comes to marketing association.

Is that why Syndicate has parity with Sony marketing?

Obviously when you have a marketing partnership with the more powerful platform parity is less of a concern. Nor does Sony have a proven history of demanding feature and graphics parity for games.

You love your sales chat, thought you would have been up to speed with bundles.

there is no way this game is 1080p on xbox. I have just been playing it for an hour. It looks straight up 720p to me. If it is 1080p it just goes to show how little resolution really affects the whole image. I think this game looks ruff on xbox. I just cant believe it is 1080p :/

Hate to be that guy but maybe it's your tv calibration? You might be overscanning and your sharpness too low, giving a blurry look.
