There are a few coming up of note that I've found:

Take-Two - Feb. 3 (today!)
Square Enix - Feb. 4
DeNA - Feb. 5
Sega - Feb. 5 (call on Feb. 7)
Bandai Namco - Feb. 9
Activision/Blizzard - Feb. 11

Good find on Ubisoft!

Someone needs to call into the English ones and ask about NX.

Leakers have failed us.

Come one, people, all we need is one disgruntled NDA-breaker or one exploited silly security breach on a developer's document server.

How much can people glean from devkits?

They never take the form of the actual product and typically dont have final spec (though close)

Id be very interested in any tidbit at this point I guess

I said both are running dry, but the Wii U isn't doing too badly. Leaving out late localizations (so no SMTxFE), there's...
  • Twilight Princess HD
  • Pokkén Tournament
  • Star Fox Zero
  • Paper Mario U (rumored)
  • Zelda U
It's not amazing, but the first 4 being in the first half of the year is an okay line-up. But my concern with the Wii U lies in the second half of the year.

Here's the other issue, you can say WiiU has some decent releases the first half of the year but if the NX console doesnt come out til next year, then there is nothing coming out for a year, because Nintendo will most likely release it in the fall.

This is why I fell they will do a split launch, Fall 2016 NX console in the west NX handheld in Japan, early 2017 NX handheld in the west and NX console in Japan.

Unless handheld and console play the same exact games, there's no way in heck they'd release the systems like this.

The popular theory is that they share most of their games. If said theory pans out, that release schedule would't be that surprising.

Exactly. All the main Nintendo teams are not working on announced Wii U or 3ds teams since a year or more now. The only exception is Zelda. If even with the unified development framework they are not capable of stepping up the development process in order to have a decent launch this year, Nintendo really has a problem.

Yeah then they are truly done.

The Big question is how much manpower that is spent on amiibo and mobile. The fact that they are in the black right now is bit worrying if it means that they do not have so many teams working on NX launch games.

They may be trustworthy, but they are still rumors. Nothing is confirmed.

No. Devkits are definitely out. Toto's insider info pegs Bamco with having them, and the WSJ was (without much doubt) SE as the source.

Nirolak has said it before but its almost assured that large groups of major Japanese pubs, who have a lot riding on the handheld in the homefront, already have kits. All indication lines up with this thought process.

Wildcard berths that can't beat teams without a winning record should have homefield advantage

The fact that we haven't heard leaks yet makes me thing Ubisoft hasn't received one yet :p

I think I'm done checking speculation threads on NX and everything. The fact that I check this thread everytime is on the top page is becoming extremely annoying. Just do whatever you want, Nintendo. Reveal it till 2017 if you want.

:(

I feel like it'll be a solid game, but nothing mind-blowing.

From what I have heard, development hell would be characterizing it charitably.

More like "Everyone is panicking as the game gets sent to certification because certain fundamental control aspects simply don't work."

Is this the gyro controls? Can't they ultimately be disabled? Or is it some deeper systemic control flaw?
The fact that you have to use the game pad to aim while watching the tv to steer(often from dynamic angles) seems problematic.

Well, we'll see.

Starfox looks like some rushed ass Eshop game that is sent to die. Those forced motion controls are gonna kill it. It should be delayed to July like that rumor said.

That's much of my issue with Nintendo lately in a nutshell. Stop trying to be different just for the sake of it. It's little things like the shitty blow-on-the-microphone mechanics in Zelda: Spirit Tracks or parts of SM3DW that spoil the great traditional game that they've been tacked on to.

That's also my biggest concern with NX. Please don't spoil a solid device with some shitty feature.

I thought the controls was just like that metroid game in Nintendo land. Those controls are still amazing!

Everything I had heard early on said that both of these things were able to be disabled? Have I misheard or potentially misunderstood?

Yeah. We just have to see how much from Western developers, since the lack of even the smallest, tiniest leam from them would be an indicator of a much-less-than-ideal distribution of dev kits among them. But, again, while I'm not expecting great Western support from the get go, I fear the renewed, much tighter NDAs are playing a role in this silence.

Their game teams arent working on amibo so that's zero I think. And mobile games I guess are small teams.

Well it's not like they'll show it all of at launch even if they have it in the bank.

Now, I don't wish to start hyping more investor events, but Ubisoft has its Q3 2015-16 Sales and Earnings release next week (with live webcast):

Source: https://www.ubisoft.com/en-US/company/investor_center/ir_calendar_contacts.aspx

Bandai Namco ought to have an investor event soon as well, though there is nothing in their schedule currently. Square Enix will publish its Financial Results for the Nine-Month Period Ending December 31, 2015 in "Early February, 2016".

If ubisoft was developing nx games, we would be drowning from all the leaks.

This is what I've been saying as caution.

Everyone's been like "These extra months means multiplayer, this mode, that mode, 10/10 graphics, etc"

Wheras I'm like....maybe the delay was just to get the game functioning. I think I said it in the delay thread.

El Capitan Todd
I have mastered the Fox demo in few minutes but a lot of people couldnt get over the two screen mechanics so I wouldn't be surprised by similar issues. Fact is that it added an additional cognitive level and that could be confusing
But you can also play it simpler looking at just the tv
I bet the local multi could.really benefit from the two screens

Glad to see this sorry attempt at justifying the Gamepad backfire. Dual camera angles and little robot coin puzzles in a fucking rail shooter, lmfao.

Yup....

Would have preferred them to go completely different routes

I say they go back to Star Fox 1... like seriously that game just oozes style and mood

That 90's sci-fi with the crazy music, sirens, voices and sound design

I want to see that aesthetic brought back man

I still believe, but if the game's not delivering, it'll totally be Miyamoto's fault.

Are digital devkits possible? Have a server running the specs and the dev only has access via a stream?

Cross-posting from financial briefing thread:
So it's actually confirmed qol is coming out in April? At least that's something. I get to sleep with Nintendo.

Wait. Where is this confirmed?

http://nintendoeverything.com/kimis...l-where-it-can-be-sold-as-a-nintendo-product/

http://www.asahi.com/articles/ASJ2251Z8J22PLFA009.html

The first article (translation of Asahi) says QoL hasn't reached a level where it can be sold. Perhaps someone should make a thread?
