I took these from the PS+ videos that Sony posts on their YT channel. For the months that they posted nothing, I used the video with the highest view count.

They have been on a steady decline since July until they hit their lowest rating yet in October. Their rating climbed in November likely because of Mass Effect 2 and The Walking Dead Season 2. This month of March 2016, they are at an all time low.

Let me know if I made a mistake with the graph. Excel acts weird with months.

edit: Note that that last point on the graph is March. I set it to display every two months on the x-axis because when I make it display each month, it gets super crowded.

bish gets all the credit :)
It shouldn't surprise you. The game quality has been on a steep downward spiral save for a blip here or there.

No, it doesn't have anything to do with them being indie or not. Most of them are trash.

Awesome data!

Would be curious on Xbox GWG as well- but I don't know if those get YT videos.

Very interesting.

That kind of kills the idea that "people just always complain" when it comes to the PS+ lineup as the reaction has been distinctly lower for the past six months or so than in the past.

I have to admit, I haven't played many IGC games for that span of time, either. That last six months of low ratings is in line with my experience.

Great idea for a thread, PS+ offering on PS4 has been average as of now save for a couple of big great games here and there. I really hope that the service will be better moving forward for those that uses it.

*shrugs* I got PS plus for the multiplayer. Rest is just gravy for me.

I love this post, perfectly highlight the drastic change of PS+ last gen and this gen.

Seems about right. PS+ was amazing at first, even just from a vita standpoint alone. But a combination of it perhaps not being sustainable, and on the other hand Sony gaining leverage by forcing people's hands through PS4 online and the result is kind of inevitable.

Where is Knack, motherfuckers!?

edit:

Will Save PS+:
Cloud Saves
Online Play
DRIVECLUB Playstation Plus Edition
Knack

I have been a member of PS+ since before the PS4 launch and this month and last month have been atrocious. I feel that the recent vote for your game, is a way to cover up the bad games they are putting out. I don't really have a problem with the PS4 games, but the PS3/Vita stuff is trash. I don't mind old retail games on PS3 from 2010ish, but give us something decent. Medal of Honor was such a poor choice.

Wario64

works for Gamestop (lol)
Unrelated note, why did Sony change the PS+ lineup for North America? We didn't get Super Stardust HD

I remember when it wasn't required for online and I actually liked the service

To make your life a more living hell, try charting the stars on the blog posts. They probably go back to when PS+ was simply a game service.

March 2016 is sitting at 1.67/5

oh god I need to see this

It's interesting, you see a lot of likes against dislikes, but the comment section is mostly negative.

I'm particularly not interested in most of the offerings Plus has received these past few months, but I'm invested in it for online play, if there's a game like I consider that a bonus at this point.

And I already own Knack :)

No more indies.

Seriously, they need to stop with the deluge of Indies on IGC, specifically for the PS4.

People want retail games, AAA games, anything but indies at this point.

It's become a toxic word, with respect to IGC.

Since I don't really play online, I will stop once my subscription is up. Too little games that I like every month.

Too bad for those who like to play online games and have to pay for it.

Yeah, I haven't bothered with these for a while now.

I don't mind indies, some of the games we got lately are just bad.

I think Xeodrifter was the point where I thought I'd had enough.

Not surprising. I haven't played single PS+ game since Rocket League, which was like 9 months ago.

I still play RL almost everyday

As Wario said: Retail games please.

It's not that indies are bad- it's just the system doesn't keep us guessing. If the game is indie at is in style x, don't buy it, it'll hit PS+ for sure. If it's retail, it will never hit ps+

Remember when PS+ was good? ;_;

I can't remember the last "free" game in any of the two services (Games with Gold or PS+) that I've sunk a significant amount of time into.

All it's doing is feeding my backlog
Edit: Rocket League, yep that's about it and that was a super surprise hit for everyone

Total & utter bullshit. Just on PS4 alone, in recent months (incl. March) we'll have had Helldivers, Broforce, Galak-Z, Grim Fandango, Magicka 2, Walking Dead S2 & Gauntlet all of which are perfectly enjoyable, good or even top tier indie games. PS3 has had some pretty good games as well, with Dragon Age Origins, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, SSX, Beyond Good & Evil HD, Mass Effect 2 & such. Vita has been a bit lacking recently, but it's no surprise since that thing is pretty much dead & forgotten by most of the world already and the release of new games has slowed down considerably. I imagine it might not be all that easy to negotiate remaining publishers to offer their Vita games for PS+. Or Sony isn't all that interested in doing so or something, apart from cheap(er) indies.

I haven't even added any PS+ games to my collection in quite a while now. That's just because nothing has even interested me enough, sad as that is. My backlog is big enough that I'd never get to any of these games that I have nearly no interest in playing

The issue is
PS3 games are dirt cheap
And ps4 games: Non retail, non retail, non retail, non retail, n- you get the issue
People want AAA retail games again

Yeah but as we all know IGC now stands for Indie Game Collection, no one get the memo?

Don't worry, I'll vouch for them.

People will just complain about any games they put on there, it doesn't matter if it is indie or not.

Here's a thought! If you want AAA games, go and buy them. Quit begging.

And this is why people are mad with PS+
It used to have these AAA games.
People tend to get mad when you take away stuff that you used to consistently offer.

This is true. However, the complains are much more common now.

The quality of the Plus games has went down, it's no surprise the reception is pretty negative. My sub expired in January, and I haven't even bothered to resub.

Different tastes and all but to me, You have just proved his point, only PS3 have half decent games.Dragon Age Origins have been free on origin for a period of time too.

I will be logical and vote with my wallet and don't resub but there are people out there who like to play online and continue the subscription. This will send the wrong signal to Sony making them think that their plus games offering are good.

Only reason why I get excited for indie games is because I know in 6 months or so Sony will give it to me for free.

Pretty much the general curve my interest level has taken. Went from "I'll download it and give it a try" to "I'll just add it to my library" to "Why bother?". Sooner or later I won't even see the first Tuesday of the month as anything special.

It was maybe like that when the service started. Things change! FREE GAMES, PEOPLE! FREEEEE. Beggars can't be choosers.

The thing that really grinds my gears is indies on the PS3 when there are so many great retail games to choose from. Persona 4 Arena making it to PS+ last month was probably the greatest thing to happen all year for me (wrt PS+).

But where is Dead Space? Where is Tekken Tag Tournament 2? Where is Steins;Gate? Where is Beyond Two Souls? The Tales of games? God of War 3? Okami HD? L.A. Noire? Dark Souls? Max Payne 3? Valkyria Chronicles? Ni no Kuni? etc, etc, etc.

The same thing with the Vita. There is a deep library of incredible PSP games and even games Vita games like Tearaway, LBP Vita and Ys: Memories of Celceta.

Instead, we're getting Flame Over and Reality Fighters for the Vita and god damn The Last Guy and Super Stardust HD for the PS3.

I actually miss the days when a game that I already owned would show up on PS+. I bought Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen on sale for $40 and it showed up on PS+ several months later. At that point, I had barely started the game. Do you know how I reacted? Instead of regret or disappointment, I shrugged and said "Well, there's always next month!". Two months later, I got BioShock Infinite and DmC.

Ahh, the good old days. :p
