Far Cry Primal |OT| The Land Before Towers

I think you're talking about the same region I played last night. You're gonna have to go up and around the landscape on the left (you'll see it's a series of plateaus), then follow the trail you'll see (that leads from left to right) if you zoom in on your map. It will lead to an underground cave, and you'll come out on the other end in the area you're looking for.

Kind of a pain in the ass to get there, to be perfectly honest.

Thanks! I'll give that a try.

so I got a slow ass connection, but the game is playable now at 5 GB (Uplay).

Anyone had any issues with starting before the download is finished?

Should I wait?

You get to play the prologue then it makes you wait for the download to finish to play anything else so go ahead.

In other news I played the first 10% of the game primarily with bows. After that I switched to spears and almost always use them if I have them. So much more damage plus most of the enemy are going to close to spear range anyway if you don't give them a shot. Try clubs now and then but there are always 3 or more enemy trying to shoot me while I'm trying to melee somebody.

Still haven't a blast

This game reminds me heavily of WOW in a good way

Many areas remind me of all the places in wow like hinterlands, alterac valley, the barrens

It's amazing how great this game looks and plays

And done. Got the platinum trophy too which was pretty easy apart from the ridiculous level grinding. Took me about 24 hours total.

Overall I'd end up giving it a 7.5 or maybe an 8. I really enjoyed my time with it. I think a lot of that was due to turning off the HUD elements which made the immersion incredible. The story was simplistic but that really worked for it. I'm glad they tried something out there like this but I really wish they went further with it. After a while the Ubi open world rot starts to set in.

Also the hand to hand combat was such a missed opportunity. They could have made it really cool.

Hopefully we'll get a sequel that can really move forward with the idea and maybe let it stand on its own feet.

Don't pass gaas, it is your Destiny!
Didn't care for it to start but once I got the beast taming stuff and maxed it out i'm having much more fun. Love running up with a saber tooth tiger or cave bear.

26 hours and done. I may futz around a bit more in the coming days, but I do have a couple other things to play, so I'm probably going to wrap it up pretty soon. All-in-all, I'll say that I liked the ending. The story wasn't as deep as most Far Cry games, but the setting was so unique that I didn't mind too much. If publishers are going to exploit franchises on a yearly basis, this is the kind of thing they need to do. Change up the setting and characters drastically from one game to the next while keeping the core gameplay mostly the same.

As to the ending itself,
The scene where the Udam baby and mother come to the Wenja village with Takkar was cute. As was the post-credit scene with the child years later. I thought Sayla would have made more of a fuss given how upset she was when Takkar brought other people home with him. On another note - It's weird, but despite the fact that the Udam are heavily inspired by the neanderthal, Ubi really seems to have gone out of their way to try and make the females somewhat attractive even by modern standards.

If breathing new life into old franchises via extreme face-lifts like this is Ubisoft's new plan, I'm all for it. Hopefully this has something to do with Assassin's Creed taking a year off. I'm really hoping the Ancient Egypt rumors are true.

I regret going for the platinum. Even getting 80 of these collectibles is tedious.

That wasn't so bad. Most of them were within 100 feet of a fast travel point.

What really sucked was maxing out the ability chart. I got stuck at 1 missing skill point for several hours. I hit max level and ran out of skill point reward side-quests, having to finish a ton of worthless ones to finally get one that gives a skill point to show up.

So am I missing how to activate the skins and stuff on PC? I got the Apex edition or whatever and can't figure out how to change your characters tattoos or your owl's skin, etc.

The one issue I'm having is that I constantly have to use hunter vision to spot enemies because everything blends into the environment so much.

What do you do when you talk to a person and they give you a quest to kill dhole or boar etc...

Do I just hunt any of them across the map or do I go to a specific place? It's not clear to me =/

Edit - I googled it, so talking to the person only unlocks another quest icon somewhere on the map to actually do the quest? oy

Yeah, any icon with a ? just tells you where to go for the actual quest lol. I don't get it either.

Yeah, I had to grind MMO style for about an hour to get my last XP requirements.

Platinum get, goodbye Oros.

Damn, you guys are fast. How long did you play?

20 hours. Far Cry 4 Platinum took me 40 hours. Primal doesn't really have that much less content than 4, but the formula is so familiar that it felt like going through the same motions, I was just more efficient with my time in Primal.

Where do I find the cave bear? I'm up north where the map says a cave bear should be but nothing.

Edit - nevermind just found it randomly walking around.

Beautiful weekend is here and finally get to crunch some Primal this weekend... 10 hours in already and didn't just two missions... This world is amazing and beutiful, love just roaming in the open world...

Let me ask you guys - does anyone else find the teeth on these characters kinda freaky? They look perfect as far as shape is concerned, but the lighting makes them look weird when the characters are talking. Also, cavemen with perfect teeth? WAT

And 100%. Damn some of these caves were confusing as fuck. Also the rare stripe white wolf is the rarest animal ever in this game. Holy shit took me a long time to finally find one to tame.

Played the whole game on expert with no HUD and really enjoyed my time with it. I was reading some people saying it doesn't really have memorable missions like previous FC games but I don't agree. There was some cool missions towards the end with the Krati mask, leading up to and the bossfight against Batari.

Least but not last Urki is the best. I was almost dying from laughter.

Also note the perfect 50/50 split as far as men/women as enemies go. Dat gender equality, the whole debacle in Unity sure changed things at Ubisoft.

North clay popped with a reset. Weird must of been glitching because slate was showing up in all the places where I was picking up/should of been picking it up.

I did it, GAF!

Not hard at all, but the "learn all skills" achievement was a pain in the ass.

Game is really awesome, it's my favorite Far Cry now.

And after Far Cry 4 I really wasn't interested in the Far Cry series at all, but Primal is fantastic, the setting alone sold the game for me.

I've killed way more than 15 guys with shards, but the trophy won't pop. Not sure what's going on. =/

This game is pretty fucking awesome. I love the sandbox stuff that happens randomly, especially when animals attack out of nowhere.

For me it only counted shard takedowns so try that.

I've done a bunch of those too, but I'll keep trying. I'm thinking about setting the game to easy and resetting all the outposts just to knock the rest of the trophies out. I already beat the game.

So, there isn't a real end game to this is there? Both rival tribes are dealt with and I'm sorta just sitting here wondering if there is anything really left to do other than remaining character quests and get the platinum.

I really appreciate how this game, that takes place in 10,000 B.C.E, has a better scouting mechanic than any of the games that take place in the modern era. That owl is a hell of a swell guy.

It definitely has one of the best and densest looking forest areas ever. The mood lighting at night is pretty good as well, and this is only playing on the peasant PS4 version.
It's almost on par with Endor in Battlefront at times, which is really saying something.

Anyone have any luck in any certain location for the rare white wolfs? Need 2 skins for the max winter clothing. Got zero.

Wait, you need rare wolf skins? I needed rare yak skins. Anyway, have you done the
Snowblood Wolf hunt
yet? That should get you what you need.

Damn, I'm 23 hours in and almost have all of the trophies. I played a bit of Far Cry 3 on the 360 (terrible, I know) but this is the first Far Cry game that I've really invested a significant amount of time in. I honestly love it and don't get the bad reviews, but anyway... shouldn't take me much longer to get all of the achievements. I think that getting 100% would probably take me about 35-40 hours.

Definitely going to get the previous entries in the franchise when they're on sale.
Edit: Sorry for the double post.

Negative. Hopefully when I get it that should do it! Thanks. I was under the impression they would show up as a rare white in the packs of at night with the rest of the wolves. Been driving me mad!

Are you killing the regular wolves as you find them? Eventually the white ones will start spawning.
