Hahaha, the beautiful weather, beautiful people (in certain places like Orlando/Miami), palm trees, some of the world's best beaches, cost of living, theme parks, restaurants and attractions, etc all make me say that...
But then... but then there is the other aspect, and that is Flori-DUHHHH, which makes me shake my head more often than not, lol.

The problem is, The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man is one of Universal's iconic and key attractions in their repertoire, hence why Spidey frequently shows up with the Minions and Harry Potter in the advertisements for their Orlando parks. I can't see them giving up on one of their most popular attractions like that, especially since they recently refurbished and updated it not too long ago.

That's because R&D was primarily done. Unless they reuse the ride system, they'll be starting from ground-zero with Nintendo Land.
With that said, it's close enough in cost to not really matter imo--plus who knows what the actual license itself cost. I wouldn't be surprised if Universal got a deal on Nintendo compared to what Harry Potter cost
Indeed, but the Hulk is so barely themed as is, it's one of the easiest rides to retheme to something else. Again, they won't any time soon, but there will come a day when Universal will want to use that space for something else

And yeah, Universal isn't going to get rid of any Marvel rides no matter how crappy they are JUST to stick it to Disney.

But yeah, Universal won't replace Marvel simply because Disney owns it--hell, it's free marketing for Universal. But they're also greatly limited in what they can do with the land, which is why they will eventually replace it with something else. It just won't be any time in the next decade. Plus they bought themselves some time with the massive amount of land they purchased, so they're no longer quite as landlocked as they were

I know it existed before 9/11. Center of an explosion or a center of operations. I looked it up just to be certain but the definition you used didn't pop up that time. I've never heard it used that way in my 31 years. Makes sense since an explosion sends the area exploded back to ground zero.

Universal isn't too limited with what they can do with Marvel. They own the Avengers, Spidey, F4, X-Men, and all associated villains. Disney/Marvel has to approve whatever Universal proposes, but it must be on reasonable grounds - mostly limited to making sure the characters are represented properly. If Universal wanted to build an Avengers attraction, Disney couldn't refuse them on the grounds of "we don't like you" because that wouldn't be considered "reasonable" under the contract.
Marvel is never leaving Universal.

Never is a long time, and there's little reason to think it won't happen eventually; just not any time soon. And that's not even accounting for the possibility of Disney possible buying back the rights at some points. Yeah, it wouldn't be cheap, but it'd be to their long-term benefit.

The original announcement was posted on the Universal Orlando blog, and it mentioned multiple theme parks. Orlando is getting it for sure, but Hollywood will need to find some space - they're pretty landlocked over there. Though I think it'll happen eventually.

Just saw the map of the acres they bought, holy shit thats a lot, but also far of the other 2 parks.
If they try to build a third gate there, what are they going to do? A Magic Kingdom style? what franchises do they have important enough to cover a new park?
Nintendo could be a large part making a third gate pretty exciting as they have enough room to not only do the typical mario plus DK, but also smaller franchises. But I dunno, what I heard is that they were destroying the kids zone at the studios to put some mario and dk rides there, and that are would be pretty similar to the chunk they got in USJ.
Whilst that it is true if you look at the theme park community forums out there - the first part seems to be going where Kidzone is currently located.

Yep, ive read Peach's Castle (an idea that I quite like to see in real life), a mario kart ride with new technology (so Im pretty sure its not going to use real karts, so it would be mostly 3D screens or VR) and a (fucking) DK mine coaster.
Not the most exciting of prospects, thats for sure.
Thats no Nintendo land, thats mario kart land, the worst thing of all is it seems super plausible.
Wait two E-tickets(equivalent) and a handful of B ticket attractions. That is great
Plus to the bolded point how do you think your going to ride it then? Also according to those insiders Nintendo land will have fewer screens and more practical effects.

I kinda wonder if Universal would be tempted to try bringing DC in as well as keeping Marvel.
they technically could fit together and you wouldn't need Disney/Marvel oversight to okay any big expansion to that section which it kinda needs.
On the subject of Nintendo, they better have a Hyrule Castle.
I expect it, though I think Nintendo is a property you could also easily expand upon in the future like with Zelda, Kirby, or Pokemon.
I'm really excited though about the potential of bringing those locations to life. Having people go inside a Mario 64 style Peach's castle would be amazing.

Nice. I'm going there to watch the Olympics and take part in the craziness happening during those 2 weeks. Vancouver felt pretty dead until we got the Winter Olympics. I've never seen the city that alive ever. Hopefully Nintendoland won't be cheesy.

I wanted Nitendo "land" (not the game, as I hope they dont use the aesthetics of that), which is super hard in a tight space, but thats why they bought Nintendo properties, not mario and friends.
What i would prefer is coaster and darkrides with some animatronics and 4D throw into the mix with more franchises (and im not talking about super niche ones, but why not a small plaza emuating animal crossing, with Peach Castle at one corner, and Hyrule with some cool mountain backdrop at the other corner), something like min Magic Kingdom with Nintendo properties.
I dont want VR because that shit is going to be already at home and its going to become stale and boring fast in theme parks (just like what happened with 3D movies like Captain EO). They are obviously NOT going to build a real kart ride (because of attendance numbers and giving guests control of a vehicle is a bad idea), something that would be cool, but is going to be something similar to a videogame and I have enough of those at home (I really hope im super wrong here and they surprise me with the idea).
Peach's castle is great and something I want to see as that could be an excellent exterior theming with and excellent darkride through the mushroom kingdom and I really dont give a fuck about (fucking) DK, even if the mine coaster is the most obvious idea ever (and that is why its so boring).
Ive been reading some rumours today that the third gate could be part Nintendo and part World of Warcraft, the good thing about it is that Universal Hollywood and Universal Japan would feel like demos, while more franchises would appear in a huge chunk of land with a new park. Other rumours say that theres (thankfully) a zelda ride planned.
A great idea for tackling the few space if the 3rd gate idea is nothing at the end would be build a darkride based on smash being the big E ticket ride where you can have biiger and smaller frachises represented in a big way. Will make everyone happy.
And then theres the porblem of The Pokemon Company, they seem to exist just to fuck up with Nintendo plans, becuase nothing makes more sense than having some kind of Pokemon representation there that brings the big buck, but we already know how overzelous those idiots are.
I just really want to se the thing oficially unveiled with concepts, becuase Im a huge fan of theme parks and Nintendo, so this is obviously my dream come true.

I still remember all those rumours pointing to toon town dissapearing from Disneyland to make way to the star wars land, and at the end it was thunder ranch the one who got (thankfully) the axe.

I try to stick to users on Orlando United for Universal stuff. Track record has been solid.
Nice! I think Disney would have fit like a glove for this too, but I'm glad this park is finally happening. I haven't been to Universal in a while, but it seems like a lot of their rides make use of video screens. (Spider-Man, Simpsons, Transformers)
I would love to see a ride with animatronics (a must for Pokemon) but I can really only think of ET and Jurassic Park for that kind of ride at Universal.
