NPD Sales Results for February 2016 [Up1: Fire Emblem]

PS4 must be putting some distance between itself and Xbox One in North America at this point. Microsoft's release schedules for the early months of each year in this hardware cycle have been baffling.

We now have a previously multiplatform franchise from a Japanese publisher on each system that has tanked in sales compared to its predecessor. Maybe they should start picking up the tab themselves on development in order to get the games out on more hardware?

It's a bit too late now and I suspect everyone at Microsoft knows it. All they can really do is make up some ground on PC and wait till the next console cycle.

Just For show how fucking huge primal is.
It outsold Far Cry 4 At Retail, even if was on current gen only while Far Cry 4 was on PS3and 360 too, and Far Cry 4 was an holidays game compared to a February released!

the Series is increased and increased those years. The launch of Far Cry 5 is gonna be fucking HUGE!

Looks like another bad month for Ms. What are they going to do now? Really been a bad generation for them considering how last one went

I am still just kinda surprised at the strategy to release all their software during crowded holiday shopping months. Quantum Break will be their first notable game that comes out before September. Uncharted 4 will make this spring the third consecutive year that Sony has published one of their more important games before E3.

I really hope that SF5 sales don't mean Capcom gives up or cuts their content plans short. The game is so good. So much better than SF4 ever was. I think the market is a lot different these days though. People were so hungry for a street fighter in 2009. That hunger was sated since then.

Their plan is to make a transition from Xbox as a specific gaming platform to Xbox as a specific product line in the Windows 10 ecosystem. Just like Surface is a product line based on Windows 10. Their core platform will be Windows 10.

But we'll see how they'll execute on this because quite frankly the company seems a bit in confusion and there have been many u-turns in the past so...it's a wait and see approach.

This has been discussed in previous threads, but the PlayStation 4 already outsold the Nintendo GameCube in the US, it should outsell the original Xbox sometime in the summer.

Also US sales of the PlayStation 4 should be approaching worldwide sales of the Wii U, and it'll also outsell it sometime in the summer.

Season one is safe.

Will there be a season 2 is up in the air.

Personally, seeing how they even gave SFXT a few big updates, we should get one.

Dunno past that, but 28 characters wont be a bad roster regardless.

But Phil promised us Xbox would be okay!

Xbox will be okay (if you can play the games on your STB,Laptop , Phones & so on) Xbox One on the other hand has dropped from $499 to $299 & it's still selling worse this year than it did before & that's right after the "Greatest Games Lineup in Xbox History" released with no sign of things changing, all while PS4 is selling better at $349 & have a pretty good lineup for 2016 vs 2015. The more PS4 pull away from Xbox One the worse things will be for Xbox One & 3rd party devs will start to skip over it & just make PS4 games.

Is there any reason to indicate that the sales of Street Fighter 5 would heavily skew to digital outside the typical 20% figure?

I know essentially PC sales of the game are digital worldwide, but steapspy has it at 130,000 which isn't all that impressive.
