I got the final After Talk by collecting all of the Pura Syega in every stage on the file in question. Not sure if there is a secondary requirement.

In other news, Dark Witch 1 is being resubmitted for Europe and will be available in Germany and Australia when it clears. Circle said to expect it in about two months.

For Sola though? I had all Pyra Syega on the file when I completed it, no after talk 16. Did a speed/no deaths run under 30 minutes just in case, that's not it either. Can't imagine what else it could be.

All I have left for 100% is Syegacha, Zizou lunatic, Sola's Tweets and a few more Rudy Rhythm games

What I read on Gamefaqs was that for some reason, you need to get all of the Syega crystals AFTER you beat the final boss in order to get the after talk 16.

Also glad to see other people enjoying this one.

Does Klinsey seriously have no weakness? Her fireball attack is almost unreasonable on Lunatic. By process of elimination Overhelm must be her "weakness" but predictably it doesn't affect her at all and isn't worth casting because it's destroyed in seconds if you just tank hits..

YEP! That was it. I hope they patch that for later releases, which I assume will happen. Just Rudy's rythym game, Seygacha (I KNEW this would secretly be the worst grind) and finishing up Zizou's Lunatic and I'll be good.

Are there any cheap tricks to use against Franzer? For instance the Enhanced Dark Matter attack makes Sola's final boss's first form a complete joke. I'm not quite there with Zizou, and grinding is slower with her than Sola and I'm feeling a bit burnt out. I should finish soon though.

...probably should have waited for the PC release so I at least get the Steam Achievements but I can't wait that long.

Turns out there's a Legend of Dark Witch 1 offical art book, ships international. It was $35 USD shipped for me. Click English at the top of the page and check out is pretty easy. Has anyone used Alice Books before? I assume they're like AmiAmi where they'll send a payment request a bit after the order confirmation? I chose paypal but there be no paypal checkout yet. Definitely hoping to get one.

I thought Sola's Lunatic was going to be harder than Zizou's, but Zizou does so little damage and actually gets a lot less Tres than Sola. The DOT of Sola's drop bomb is really great.

Also, I found Franzer (form 1)'s weakness, it's Dia Missile, annoyingly. Weird it's the one skill they kept from the first game, it's tracking is really bad making it super annoying to use, especially for a "homing" attack.

Yeah, Dia Missile is one of those boss skills you absolutely have to upgrade in the shop to make it worth using. The upgraded version targets enemies a lot faster, so it's pretty useful. But you still have to try to avoid Franzer's attacks in his first form; especially the attacks he does when he is low on health.

I also found Sola's Lunatic a little easier than Zizou's. Although overall I'd say I enjoyed playing more as Zizou because her attacks are easier to aim.

Okay, the Alice Books thing just has to manually check their stock before they send an invoice, I paid now. The artist for Dark Witch is really good so I recommend the art book (I don't have it yet though of course). It's just a shame it's only for 1, because I like a lot of the bosses in 2 better. Codino is cool, and I love the Mega Man vibes from Pelusa and Herbert. And mummy girl is adorable (along with blad) for her animations. She makes a smug little smile every time her attacks hit, and looks disappointed when they don't.

Rudy Rhythmical does in fact require you to play both hard and easy versions of all stages for the Playing Level. It seems as long as you TRY and finish the whole stage it'll never give you less than the 2 star rating the achievement requires though. I'm pretty bad at rhythm games and I got all of them first try, even a couple 4 stars on Easy.

It's sort of annoying that almost every playing level is only worth 30 Syega. The first time bonus you get for beating the game gets you a couple unlocks then Lunatic runs will be responsible for almost all the other unlocks.

Yeah I should probably just buy the upgrade for Dia Missile. I thought it would improve the homing ability, like let the shots curve, but it just increases the targeting range. Still useful for Franzer, but Icke is still all but impossible to consistently hit with it.

I find that aspect of Sola pretty fun though--except if her speed gets too fast she actually outruns Drop Bomb. It's not a big deal in bosses or if you don't have Speed +2 or max speed though.

Also, taking less time to beat bosses > being easier to play with IMO. Especially since the most annoying part of taking on the final boss in Lunatic is going through the boss rush.

Also unless the +2 attack unlock is way stronger than I thought, it seems Zizou's Revenge attack is far stronger than Sola's (Sola's is barely worth using in Lunatic). I'll unfortunately have to test out some of this for the guide, thanks to the unlocks and difficulty none of my runs have really been directly comparable.

Question, anyone know what the Syega returns are for Normal/Expert/Lunatic? From the info I have so far I'm guessing

50, 500, 5000 for Zizou for Easy/Casual, Expert and Lunatic

75, 750, 7500 for Sola for Easy/Casual, Expert and Lunatic?

Got some new info:

Unlocking all playing levels doesn't do anything but unlock the final illustration. Boo

Unless I'm mistaken, ALL playing levels are only good for 30-50 Syega, and completing the game in Lunatic is responsible for 90% of your Syega earned

Dangerous Mode is a 10x multiplier to Syega earned. You're never told this until you beat the game (it hits there's an upside, I wondered if it was something like this). Beating the game normally on Lunatic 3 times is plenty enough to get all items from the Syega shop (and 2 will get you basically everything good)

My guide gets like zero hits but hey, maybe the ports will bring interest.

I just tried a little of Dark Witch 1, on Normal difficulty, and while the level design is good, the bosses are hard as hell. I beat it on easy my first time. Dark Witch 2 has better balance, I think.

Okay, so pressing LRLRLLRRX in the Syega Shop menu unlocks more options:
-Tres +99999
-Speed +10
-Super Jump Power
-Capacity 0%
-Infinite Items
-Zizou Costume2 (Zizou in Franzer's clothes)
-Sola Costume2 (Crossover with Maison de Maou)
-Maximum Pura Syega
-Forbidden Start

Code has to be entered each time you enter the menu.

I wonder what else is hidden in this game.

Interesting. I just tried it and it works. Costs a ton of Syega though. That's cool.

I was going to try and get all the playing levels, but I was planning on paying to unlock the no-hit final boss challenges. The rules on those seem finicky.

My Dark Witch 1 artbook came!

Love seeing how the boss's designs evolved, they have some sort of fan art collection that's really good too. The game has a very active fan art base for it's apparent popularity. (also, surprising amount of boss shipping going on in fan art for this game.)

Dark Witch 2 definitely has that Mega Man feel where bosses are hard (though, maybe not quite hard enough in this case) at the first playthrough but once you learn their patterns you can pretty much do it without taking more than a hit or two. It's a different mindset between the two (and you can even sorta feel how out of place Blad and Stoj's fights are in this game).

Ohhhh cool! I'll add that to the guide ASAP. You can also hold different buttons to get different title screens, there's a hint in the very last Playing Level that tells you that and hints there's other things. I'm not sure if this is one of them or if there's another, simpler secret.

I'll have to try and unlock these soon, 99999 tres sounds fun, the +10,000 tres thing is barely a start.

BTW, beating the game on Lunatic, not Playing Levels, is probably the best way to get Syega. With Sola it's 7500 a pop I think. The rhythm game also has surprising earn rates but is less fun to me.

Before I waste my time, does anyone know if using Forbidden Skills also prevents you from earning Syega for finishing a playthrough? I have all Playing Levels but I need a ton of Syega to get some of those cheats.

I've never used a Forbidden Skill, so I wouldn't be able to tell you. Betting that it either locks you out of getting Syega or applies a massive penalty.

Ah, I figured but didn't really want to bother finding out.

The unlockable Syega rewards are basically cheating too...but you'd have to more or less have already mastered the game to get them so I guess it doesn't really matter.

Not sure if Expert or Lunatic will be better for farming Syega, I think I can beat Expert without getting awkwardly stuck grinding/retrying on the last stage. Shame I had to waste like 5000 syega getting the last Playing Level. Damn gachapons.

The weakness order is Klinsy > Blad > Sola > Papelne > Stoj > Al > Klinsy. Sola is the best starting point IMO, but it's up to you.

This was helpful! I'm replaying The Legend of Dark Witch 1 and have like 2 bosses left. Playing on Easy because Normal is...kind of hard. I actually found a lot of Syega crystals, unlike the first time I played the game.

Yeah, I know you get 5000 Syega for beating Lunatic with Zizou. I don't know how much you get for Expert, but Expert is certainly easier to do.

I'll add to this thread and say that Dark Witch 3 was announced at TGS and it'll be co-developed by M2, the Sega 3D Classics developers.
