NX Controller Rumor [Up5: Original was fake, and thus this is too]

It looks #teamreal to me.If Nintendo has found a genius way to make touchscreen buttons viable, it's going to be quite revolutionary, even make its way to smartphones. Otherwise... Eh, we'll have to learn more, but it's not looking very promising apart from a wow factor.

If it has a taptic-like haptic engine and screen all around the sticks, I wonder how well large haptic feedback giving buttons all around the sticks would work, a bit like this amazing drawing I made

Might be on to something...

My issue with the 3D print idea is its difficult to fake a screen tech that's new.

The only picture where the screen is actually on, is a fake. All the new pictures have the screen off. If it's fake, it might not even be glass. It could just be a piece of glossy black plastic.

I'm #TeamRealPrototype and the actual product, while pretty similar will have a few major changes.

Yeah, this is probably the most rational team

It is undeniably a real product that exists, and I think that Nintendo made it and has started giving it to their partners. Nothing else needs to be implied - it might or might not be final, but it exists and is representative of what the NX will be

Ok so, confidential property, totally a sticker that would be on it.
But why doesnt it says nintendo on the sticker?
Whats the point of saying just "confidential property" without saying where it belongs to?

well if I have to say, a simple "confidential" sticker seems kind of fake, I would've expected it to not be just a one word sticker but have other info on it as well.

Maybe there's more on the proper device? It's not like there's much space on the controller, unless you cover up the touchscreen.

Going to play devil's advocate and say that it is on the back as well with more info.
Edit: Also might be on the console itself.

Phone reception is more important to me than human rights
So for I got:

Wii Cross = Wii X. Could be used as a play on cross buy, cross play too...never know.... The ends of the X means all devices in the family can be connected to whatever the middle of the X represents.

Might be controller and/or handheld.
Might can be docked to use proper buttons.

And yea...this definitely is the thread of 2016 so far. Gonna be hard to surpass this thread.

That's why it's not just the controller breh

It's the handheld unit as well

Welcome to NX

:banderas:

That's the only thing that makes sense. But then that goes against nintendo repeatedly saying it won't be a hybrid. But I guess if it's both a separate console and handheld, it's not really a hybrid. Probably will be a pro controller bundled with the system, and this as well if it's real. So you get both handheld and home console. Still will drive the cost way up.

I don't buy it. Completely goes against everything nintendo has been saying lately.

So if we assume that the controller for the console will be the same as the Handheld console. At least this means that the standard NX controllers will be commercially available for purchase right? Eh.. That's one thing this controller's got working for it.

... I got nothing.

Might be another sticker on the back for all we know.

i'm pretty sure the moon landing is supposed to be real

but some people think it's fake

so...

clearly what you're trying to tell us is nintendo was behind faking the moon landing.
Kubrick directed the NX!! There is proof all over his movies.

Well, if our anonymous redditor or his source was able to make 3 pictures with good quality, what stopped certain person from taking pictures from different angles?

If that thing has a big "Confidential property of NINTENDO" on the back, why not showing it?

Considering the majority of that speculation is very negative I'm not sure that's a good thing.
Maybe not but what would they do? Come out and say it's fake? Then people begin to wonder what it could look like? What if they say it's fake but don't address the "no face buttons" part? What if it ends up being real AFTER they say it's fake? What if they say it's real and people continue to judge a non-final version of a controller for a system they haven't even seen be played yet?

There's no benefit for them right now no matter what they say. People are just going to have to wait until June.

I mean that still leaves the back but at this point, whatever. Nintendo is probably nuts enough to just put a "please return to Nintendo HQ if found" sticker on the back instead.

Yeah, the Gamepad is the most uncomfortable console controller I've ever used, and up there with the original DS for being an ergonomic nightmare. It's the main reason I rarely play on my WiiU. The Gamepad gives me cramps in my left palm within a few minutes of use. No other console controller has ever done that to me.

Love the Wiimote and the both the Wii classic controllers. Not a fan of the stick/button placement on the Pro Controller, but at least it's comfortable to hold.

As for the NX controller, even if it isn't the final model, I doubt the shape would change. The dimensions/aspect ration/whatever you call it of the screen would be set by now. If they want the screen to be flush with the edge of the controller, then that's the shape we'll be getting. It looks crazy uncomfortable.

lol Nintendo man. Killin me. Obviously I'll wait to hear it out but it doesn't look like my kinda thang at first glance. Even if the engine is as good as apple's taptic engine which I seriously have doubts about...still not sure I would like that.
