Welp, everything is possible now. When people are willing able to go to those lengths to create a fake controller, we really can't believe anything that doesn't come from Nintendo's press site.

Or a website that reports leaked photos from Taiwanese factories. Because, I mean, no one is going to construct a Taiwanese factory set AND a convincing fake controller AND hire Taiwanese models to dress in lab coats and pose for photos, right?......

This definitely had me thinking it may be legit - it didn't have any of the usual signs of being a 3D render or being heavily photoshopped, it looked like a real object in a real photograph (which, it turns out, it was). I also didn't think it'd be 3D printed since it'd take more effort and equipment than most people would have to get a 3D printed object looking that authentic, especially with the glass. Great work.

With the Rayman Smash Bros "leak" and this one, the message is clear: Let's calm down before being angry at anything before an official announcement.

Also NX details pls Nintendo.

Serious props, it looks very believable and taking off the original leaker really sold it. Definitely didn't feel like someone's home 3D printing project which made me question it, I wasn't expecting someone with professional tools and experience.

Incredible work, best fake I've ever seen.

But man, because so many of us, including me, believed this was real goes to show how dumb we think Nintendo can possibly be haha.

Also people said they got health issues because of this whole ordeal? What...does that mean exactly?

I'd like to believe this'll make people more cautious when approaching rumours / leaks, but that's probably wishful thinking.

So we assume that a man can use Gaf at his own advantage? With all the respect I have in his work, creating a fake and pretending it's true for days is wrong. It may even hurt a company, create some big misunderdtandings with investors and build giant useless threads for what, exactly?
Why not just post the video?

Wow, that was hilarious. I'm glad it was a fake though, if Nintendo actually constructed that kind of controller then it would be DOA. lol.

Pretty funny hoax. People got so riled up and fake insiders were outed so I don't think people should get upset at him. Well maybe the "insiders" for exposing them. I love how he even says that the design was uncomfortable which was always my concern with the whole thing.

I'm still aghast. I suspected it was 3D printed (and stated as such), but to actually be right, and to have the whole process laid out, is just breathtaking.

I didn't read the entire controller thread. I only saw McNamara's tweet about having heard that the NX controller wouldn't have face buttons, which could still be true despite the leak being fake.

But you're saying some journalists actually confirmed that it was "real"? Could you point them out, please?

Amazing. The original white version had me on #teamfake but this version fooled me.
We're moving into a new era of 3d printed fakes and people thought photoshop would fool people!
I guess it's good publicity for you and kept us all entertained for a few days without going on too long, good stuff.
