Wants the largest console games publisher to avoid Nintendo's platforms.
I'm not shitting on you. I'm questioning the logic that has been entertained by gaffers in this thread that a semi-custom design would be somehow a mixture of Polaris (which is a synonym for GCN 1.3) and Fiji (which are certain top-of-the-line GCN 1.2 chips). You just happen to be entertaining that logic, so I'm trying to push you (and perhaps other proponents of the idea) to rethink the rationale. I mean, there are goddamned GCN 1.2 GPUs in APUs. Why Fiji - a top-of-the-line, stand-alone GPU that starts at 175W (at load)? Just so that we can "cut it down" and still "2x" a ps4? This is a typical investigative mistake - starting from the desired results and backtracking to the rationale. The rationale is often far from 'rational' under such circumstances.

I don't think we know nothing. While we don't have confirmation. I think it's safe to assume Madden, FIFA, and NBA will be there. I was under the impression that the leagues required the software makers to release at least one version on each home console per their agreement.

Luigi's Mansion 3 has been rumored before tho, so who knows if 10k didn't just grab those old rumors and used them as "sources", just like he did with ZhugeEX's tweet. It's all very wishy washy at this point.

A) Haptic feedback and vitality sensor holsters built into the controller
or
B) The TV attachment that made things appear to onlookers to project out of a 2D screen that Nintendo patented a while back.

Using ZhugeEX's tweet as information was certainly silly. We have discussed the likelihood of a Holiday US/Spring Japan release for the console numerous times on this forum. It wasn't some revelation that Zhuge came up with.
This thread (and 10k's account) won't be around much longer it seems.
The one thing that's actually interesting out of all this to me is that apparently only one of his sources is a dev. The others are all journos. Terrible ratio, not something I'd have created numbered tiers out of. I would have hoped he had been able to get more info from actual developers.

Too much effort and too much of a headache...especially if things go awry. It's best we take everything with a grain of salt. If Rogers or some other very well known leaker comes around with something then back it a little bit more. For now we should just be excited and hope Nintendo gets this shit right haha.
Ehh I don't know about Thraktor having confirmation bias about it being polaris, I think he was just speculating the most logical conclusion. He's usually on the lower end of the scale when it comes to what he thinks the NX specs could be, he was just giving his take on 10ks information. Dudes name should be left out of this mess as he's usually pretty objective.
Literally assumed the same not sure where people were getting anything else. His initial rumor post he said he was just a regular guy who did a little digging.

There is no need to pass your info through a mod for "verification" if all he was doing was posting other people's twitter rumors. Plus he did indeed claim to be in contact with a dev at least.
It's all a bit confusingly put together. A weird mix of proper "sources" (or perhaps just one supposed source), old rumors, and personal speculation.
He always said he wasn't an insider, true, but he also talked about protecting his sources and not giving them away which implies some kind of "insider" info.
Anyways, I'm not trying to villify 10k or anything. It's just that recent developments have made things a bit awkward and confusing.
I doubt it's Renesas. AMD is probably making a push for GloFlo, but TSMC is more likely if it's 28nm.
That's my approach when it comes to such stuff. I shared that I had heard the Wii U => NX ports once things started to be discussed. Beyond that, I never share what I hear early because I rather people learn of it in a conference instead of a leak.
If you want GCN 1.2, you can use the much more reasonable (and already in APUs) Tonga.
Ah...does this tweet indicate that for sure? Has he said as much? I was under the impression at the least all T2 and up rumors he was standing by, and that he hasn't rebuked any of his rumors.

2. Speculation is fun. I take all rumors w/ a grain of salt, but it's fun to speculate about what it means *if* they're true. Nothing I say or discuss assumes the rumors are true.
I still don't think we'll have to wait until E3 for our hardware reveal. On top of the potential for Nintendo to get overshadowed by the competition, they'd also have to cram a lot into one E3 presentation (regardless of which format they choose). Doing a hardware reveal ahead of E3 would allow for E3 to be about the games.

Nah, we have IndieGamerGirl with NX > PS4 on the whole package, iirc, and no one has shot that down either.
We have three credible points that have not been challenged, I summed them up before in my long-winded post.
I got ya. I don't the think the NX will actually have a Fiji part, but weren't the wii u target specs much higher than what was eventually released as well? I don't necessarily think it's out of the question that the SDK has recently had some sort of fiji target specs, which lines up with the WSJ report on industry leading chips.
But again, I don't think fiji is at all likely, just speculating based on the fiji comments. More likely we are looking at some sort of Apu related to what's used with jaguar cpu cores in the ps4/xbox, or maybe something tonga related.

Nintendo will show off the NX hardware in a Direct whenever they are supposed to have their presentation.
Then there will be playable games for the system on the show floor.
So basically, we will hear about the NX at E3

The real NX is inside of all of us, every minute, every day. NX is a state of mind.
And we have WSJ's "industry leading chips" for whatever it's worth. Also some of the negative sounding rumors from Tamaki, comic artist guys, and Thomas Mahler.
