Rumor: Horizon: Zero Dawn delayed to early 2017

Hopefully they will be able to achieve a nice 60fps with the PS4K then without loss of detail.

Anticipated/expected PS4 running at 900p locked 30fps... This game would make an awesome show case for the updated console.

I don't get it?

lol

It will have been 18+ months since that trailer to release day.

Are you under the impression they won't optimize the game whatsoever?

GG games have always performed well.

It is true that Guerilla Games has been pretty good but I guess that this industry made me way too cynical, after the amount of bullshit we see from console makers and publishers alike (after all, paying for ps+ is a thing despite bringing nothing substantial to it since that change). My worry remains due to how devs find it more important to make the game look pretty rather than making it run well

It's going to look exactly how you saw it last year. Which looked pretty damn good. Jesus christ at the hyperbole lol. I literally wonder how some of you deal with issues on a daily basis with this thought process.

More like an absolute nonsense point made by Colin.

That wasn't a good point. For one thing, the Horizon you'll play on the PS4 is exactly the same game you would have played on it regardless of the existence of the Neo. Second, how much of an upgrade do you naysayers think the Neo is over the original model? You're acting like the PS4 is equivalent to minimum PC specs for a game and the Neo is going to make it Ultra High. It's not. The differences are going to be minimal. So funny that people think the PS4 versions are going to look like "shit" while the Neo version will be mind-blowing. There's a reason why it's not a full-fledged PS5. The changes aren't significant. It's basically a Slim model. They say the Neo will be sold alongside the PS4 and they're telling the truth. Just like the Slims were sold alongside the Phats...until the Phats were phased out. The Neo will eventually be the only SKU available. Don't think of it as a new console. Think of it like a Slim iteration.

That's some strong ass damage control. It ranges from personal insult, to blanket dismissal to bargaining that its no big deal. Until Sony proves its no big deal, the other side has every right to think about the points Colin made.

We are less than 2 months away from E3 and this place is already losing it's shit. My GOD the rest of this year will be entertaining lol.

we're looking at potentially 3 new consoles at e3 this year. we never stood a chance

do yourself a favor and drop your expectation of 60fps being a common thing on PS4K, you're only gonna be disappointed

Given that Neo isn't releasing until fall at the absolute earliest, I'm not even positive we'll see it at E3 LOL

Not surprised but slightly annoyed. I hope this isn't just to accommodate the Neo version.

Minimal? Seems like most people have been saying the GPU is a big upgrade.

It's not personal insult. Colin didn't make a good point. He basically said the base ps4 game can look great and run well, but because The NEO exists that's cause for a negative. That literally just tells me he would be upset that someone it playing a better version of the same game.

Until I see devs actively spit on 40-50 million+ users then I'll be outraged with you. Until then I'll believe the base PS4 will be the targeted console. Neo has some bells and whistles and that's it.

High profile aka in the public eye. SSM's game was never shown off to us and didn't get a fancy E3 trailer. Fable Legends was touted as one of the pillars of MS's "greatest lineup in Xbox history" and was part of that intro montage that they used twice. Not to mention it was in the hands of people via beta.

Yep, and it was pretty solid. Shame More people didn't get hands on with it.

It's nothing like the Slim, it's twice the GPU power, faster RAM with more of it available for use and a decent bump in CPU performance. Show me a slim model that did all of that. Ever.

I personally think SOny should do something similar to the PS4 reveal. Have a separate event to announce and unveil it, and give all relevant information to control the message.

While E3 does make sense. They also need to focus on other things at E3. So you risk not explaining this enough.

I completely sympathize and relate to your level cynicism.

Good performance should be prioritized above prettier graphics, but for marketing reasons that never pans out.

This thread, about Insomniac's decision to opt for graphics over higher framerates in their games, was really sobering and disheartening. It would explain most devs/pubs attitudes towards developing games, especially for consoles.

A game gets delayed and you're thinking about some silly trade show pissing contest? Wow

I never once mentioned trade shows or pissing contests about trade shows, nor is it my point. But ok.

"never produce"

I am sure those games will never come out too.

Well, in terms of first party content for this year -

Gravity Rush Remastered
Gravity Rush 2
MLB The Show 16
Ratchet and Clank
Uncharted 4
The Last Guardian

I wouldn't call that abysmal.

That is better than I thought, provided stuff like Gravity Rush 2 and TLG actually make it. Still not amazing but better than abysmal.

Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank and Street Fighter are all in the first 5 months.

I mean, it's not like there's a shortage of games to play, especially when you throw 3rd party in the mix.

I never really understood this idea that Sony and Microsoft need to have this constant trickle of exclusive games coming through the year. Nintendo does because they have no 3rd party support.

But Sony and Microsoft? How much time do you people have on your hands to be able to go through so many games?

I play mostly on my PC. I kinda do feel like I have to justify my console purchases. If there's barely any exclusive games then why have the system? Sony's first party output last year and this year are both less than Nintendo's output on either of their systems (much less their overall output) and Sony isn't even developing for a handheld anymore. Microsoft is also putting out a bit more exclusive games than Sony is...or was until they decided to put everything on PC (which is great). Sony has about as many studios as Nintendo and more than Microsoft though. So what's the problem here?

My point isn't to have a pissing contest between the companies. Sony's first party output is pretty bad in general. For a system this far into its life it feels like there should be a lot more.

I'm expecting actual better graphic effects on PS4 Neo. This is probably one title Sony will want to market Neo with, and higher frame-rates are costly and not as pretty as better effects in trailers.

wtf people crying bout TLG for? If anything this is good for that game. It's gonna be Sony's sole tentpole release for Q4 (to my knowledge), they're gonna throw big bucks at it

come on man. Calm down.

No, I'm just thinking about how much fucking bullshit we have been feed this generation on games. Donwngrades and Empty Promises........it's been a generation of delays and shit shows. Sony is the least of the bunch to do it and show games how it is for the most part.....so don't mind me be a bit cynical.

Assuming it still makes 2016, which isn't really a guarantee given the game's history and complete silence on it since last E3.

When a Sony game is revealed at E3 and said the be released the following year, it means 2-9 years down the road.

Yes sure. They are going to transfer the marketing budget of Horizon to TLG! Hype!
They wont

Honestly I do. When I see some of the posts and reactions to this. I do wonder how people react to certain news. Because some people here literally feel personally hurt or insulted and it's not that serious.
