Naughty Dog is who people want to make it. But they just don't think that they will.

It does make me wonder how big Crash will be, I rember Vernedes making a post about old Sony IPs being reused again.

Wonder if this is the first one of the initiative.

Why does nobody ever speculate about Naughty Dog making the new Crash? Is it because the developers that made the old Crash games left ND? Is it because ND doesn't make cartoony games anymore and hasn't for a long time? I don't see why ND can't make it.

Sorry if I sound stupid. I'm not too knowledgeable about Crash. :p

Naughty Dog is too mature now for silly games about bandicoots and ottsels.

This is what I'm hoping for.

I can dream.
Imagine if they go all out.

PS1 BC on PS4 - meaning Crash 1-3 + CTR playable on ps4 for the first time (with maybe emulation enhancements)
New Crash platformer announcement
New Crash team racing announcement

haha, never happening

Yeah, as stated before, it's a matter of who's developing it now rather than whether it's true or not, because we know it's coming. I wonder if they'll go for a stage based game like the first 3.

Maybe that canned Vicarious visions crash will return

Cant tell if joking, but I never understood that argument. Why does one negate the other? Why would a serious shooter mean you cant do a cartoony platformer? The argument makes no sense.

The news of them attempting to reboot jak & daxter and scrapping it because it wasn't coming together well and making last of us instead makes people think that.

I could see the appeal for them if it was a budget game with a short dev time.

Could be a fun little buffer project in between U4 and TLOU2. I bet being all serious these days might have some people there wanting to do something light hearted.

But that's the longest of long shots for a variety of reasons

Who is still at Naughty Dog from the Crash days? The only person I can think of is Evan Wells, but all the key names who did the main stuff are gone.

Ok I've been a doubter but this is probably the most credible thing yet.

Can't discount the possibility that it isn't aftually for a game, however. There are any numbers of videos / teasers / features / etc that they could use the character for.

The concept art for Jak 4 speaks for itself, they couldn't help but to try and make it more realistic. It'd be cool if they went back to Crash but I don't see it happening.

ND already tried to make Jak and Daxter after Uncharted, and they felt they couldn't do it right anymore. The studio is now rigged toward more realistic depictions.

Personally I'd rather another studio do Crash, and leave ND on the trajectory that they are on.

Crash is coming back and there is no doubts about that but will he come back the way fans wants it ?? i highly doubt that, even if crash comes back like the original trilogy it will not be a huge success and will not get high reviews, just like what happened with sly 4

Honestly, I hope the studio that gets to make a new game does it as a passion project after they remaster the first 3 and CTR just like Sanzaru did with Sly. Maybe even let Sanzaru do it if they have the drive to.

It's still funny seeing people saying stuff like this. You don't know how popular Crash really is.

This new game is going to prove a lot of people wrong.

No, you're right, if you're Insomniac Games it doesn't. But on the other hand Naughty Dog seemingly thinks so.

When asked if they would return to something like Crash or Jak, this was the reply:

No, I don't, because we've got an amazing team of people making some really expressive performances with our current stable of realistic characters. I mean, animating the stylised stuff is a lot of fun, but the stories that we're trying to tell right now are a little bit more grounded and a little bit more grown up than they were back in the Jak and Daxter days

I wonder who the dev might be.

Ok seriously, Crash Bandicoot is clearly coming back. Way WAY too much smoke for there not to be a fire.

Playing through Ratchet and Clank had made me realize how badly I missed platformers. Its all gritty realistic shooters nowadays, give me something fun and cartoony

Crash Bandicoot is what got me into gaming as a kid. I stopped playing them after wrath of cortex (although I liked it) didn't like the direction the series went afterwards.

If this is a return to the feel of the original games with no gimmicks then I'll be super happy.
