I'm very, very happy to see that the Harlem Hellfighters are getting such a prominent presence in the game. Black soldiers throughout WWI (and the second one for that matter) never got the respect they deserved. I'm very pleased to see them not only in a game, but also in the marketing material.

Historically it makes extremely little sense to give them such a prominent role.

Nowadays politically I guess it's all the rage.

America entered the war when it was basically over, the vast majority of the fighting force was white Europeans and descendants of Europeans.

Ho-lee-shit. World War 1 Battlefield is actually happening. Super excited, and the class/mechanics tweaks mentioned in Jack's video sound interesting.

This also gives me realistic hope for the first time that Battlefield 1944 will happen. If DICE is actually willing to forgo tacticool attachment spam and make a WW1 Battlefield, a return to the series' origin seems like a given.

They say that you can have your whole squad in a vehicle, which would be strange if all of the squad have to wait at the respawn screen to do that.

What I'm hoping is that 'Driver' and 'Pilot' classes are actual soldier classes that just have the exclusive ability to pilot those vehicles in exchange for not having as much boots-on-the-ground equipment as other classes. Maybe just a pistol.

Modern and near-ish future setting starts to head towards of what happened to WW2 as FPS setting, people are getting tired of it. After all it has been decade of modern and near-ish future setting FPS games with next to no setting variety. Even Infinite Warfare seems somewhat safe and won't fully embrace sci-fi, M16's and AK47's will be there yet again.

For the American campaign episode whatevermajig playing as a black dude would work since the Harlam guys fought way more battles than any other americans. They could 'massage' the history and have the guy fight in tons of different fronts.

I'm going to be disappointed if the main character in the story is American. Just go with some Russian, French or British for the Allied side and German (Or Ottomans!) for the Central powers of course. But I guess that would be too hard to sell (You could even have some cool Indian/Sikh. Or any of the armies of the colonies that were involved)

Jack Frags said there are dedicated vehicle classes, but not that you couldn't get out if you choose that class. I would assume you can get out of your tank, but as a Tank Class you would have weaker infantry weapon options.

Also DICE guys said you can fit your whole squad into a vehicle, so people can at least get into a piloted vehicle.

I almost did it myself as I posted that. I haven't played much of CoD these last few years so I think I'll check out Infinite Warfare but for those who do buy each year, I can see the fatigue. I'm also a huge fan of Titanfall and can't wait to see the new one.

Had Dice gone with some sci-fi take on WW1, people would be just as unhappy about it as the loudest people are with Infinite Warfare.

There were quite a few assault rifles that were used in the war. That time period was great because we were on the cusp of huge technological advancements and some of that stuff contributed to the war effort.

So yeah, we had assault rifles, sub-machine guns, light machine guns and heavy machine guns. We also had the all rifles you'd expect.
