Dr. Neo Cortex voice actor implies Crash Bandicoot return?

There's no way it will be anything like the trilogy, fans will be disappointed, the game will underperform and be thrown back into the IP abyss.

Just make a new CTR and save all the time and money that will be wasted on this.

Oh come on, it's all in good fun.

I hope everybody that wants a new Crash Bandicoot game gets one and I hope it turns out amazing.

They already have them. Sony just has eternal publishing rights. Activision can do what they please with them.

I do think Naughty Dog own the source code for those games. It says so every time you boot one of them that Crash was a Universal Property but the code was owned by ND

So the legal breakdown for the ps1 games is.

Game Code - Sony
Publishing Rights - Sony
IP - Activision

Its a very unique little mess. I wonder if technically Activision could put those games on another platforms if they wanted to though. Even if they dont have the code they could do it from scratch and I guess since they would be new versions it wouldnt conflict with Sonys rights which are only for the PS1 versions.

Lmao I clicked this thread read the OP and thought cool. Refreshed and this replaced the op. Weird timing. But yeah there's nothing at your link.

Yeah, blame the guy who thought it was a good idea to upload his screenshot of video game news to DeviantArt. I'll try and get the actual picture here in a second.

The dude liked a tweet from a Twitter account called 'We want Crash back' and now he's suddenly "There's no game."? He's probably been told to retract all knowledge, same as the NECA guy.

I dunno. My personal opinion is that it's backpedaling, because of the way he responded to the Crash twitter tweet, but I have no proof or reason to take him against his word.

I'm going to restore the original post and go with the idea that it's possibly a cover up.

Truth be told they were working on CTR 2010, Activision canned it.

Nah, that was High Impact Games, the folks behind Ratchet: Size Matters and Jak: The Lost Frontier.

Whoops. You're right. I thought high impact games rebranded themselves as bigredbutton.

I heard that their CTR game was supposed to coincide with Crash landed.

But I think if there's any team that can do a Crash game. It'd be High impact games since they're composed by Ex-ND and insomniac devs if I'm not mistaken.

This is the second time someone's acknowledged a new Crash game then retracted the statement and all knowledge the day after. It's almost certainly back-pedalling.

Considering the only other Doctor that I can find evidence of him playing in a video game is Dr. Doom in Marvel Heroes, which is still being updated, and probably doesn't apply to "games gone by" and "resurrecting" characters, I kinda DO call BS on him.

Well if the Nerd_Leaks horseshittery turns out to be true, you'll at least be hearing Clancy again...

They posted evidence and legitimate proof for their God of War leaks, didn't they? Why wouldn't they do the same with their alleged
Activision Crash Bandicoot game they tweeted about? I'm honestly assuming that they wanted more followers, and because of their past credibility they want to chime in and say "_____ is happening, believe us!" to get in on that fame. Just my two cents...especially when it seems like Activision may not hold the rights anymore.

maybe marvel got rights to have fantastic 4 stuff in their games and hes voicing doctor doom lol

(marvel heroes had doom prior to the marvel blackout of fantastic and xmen stuff)

So guys, what is the consensus here? Sony bought the IP rights or Sony is parnering with Activision for the game?

I'll take what I can get!

Seriously though, of all the things that would get me hyped at a theoretical e3 Crash announcement, having Clancy Brown's Cortex voice boom out "Sony Interactive Entertainment presents..." over a black screen would be near the top of the list. Maybe #1 on the list.

Seconded!

After how much bank Uncharted and The Last of Us have given Naughty Dog, I doubt we'll ever see this series again. Naughty Dog is likely to stay action focused from this point on. It would be neat to see them go back to platforming, but I doubt it.

Welp. Nevermind.

although I will take the moment here to ask why the fuck you would upload something like this to DEVIANT ART

EDIT: Actual picture

Because he would totally outright say he's working on a new Crash Bandicoot game.

As for the NerdLeaks thing, it basically says nothing and even has the damage control fallback statement within the same tweet, "we're not sure if matters have changed or not". Sounds legit following the recent
UC4 stuff and complete lack of Activision mentioning.

I agree, as posted earlier :)

Unless Clancy Brown comes and steps in...or, Lex was told to shut his mouth and retract his claims.
