This is insane. It seems to contain everything I felt was missing from the main game and more (that sounds like a criticism but it's not meant to be). This is a day one for me!

A lot of people are going to be pleased by that Ursine Armour news.

Edit: If that new menu is actually snappy, I can't tell you how happy I'd be. The only real thing that bothers me about the game is the sluggishness of the menus and inventory.

Time for my Deathmarch playthrough for the plat, been waiting for this. Heart of stone and Blood & Wine here i come.

This is me as well. I beat the game last July, but have yet to do my plat run (missing only Deathmarch).. Time to buy that season pass.

The official teaser also says 30+ hour adventure instead of 20+, seems like they went all in!

Eh I don't even believe them. They said Hearts of Stone was 10 hours and I probably got over 20 out of it. I always take my time, but still, their estimates are more like a bare minimum.

Damn. I was hoping the Gwent pack would be out before June 4th so my brother and I could play at his wedding.

He jokingly tried to convince his fiancee to let him wear a cloak to the ceremony. He *did* get us wolf lapel pins, though.

He likes this game.

Are the quests good now or will it be the same "follow red glowy line, click on crap, follow more red line, kill thing".

Son, just don't.

Seriously though, this is an impressive amount of content. It's a real expansion and I can't wait to dive in. I'm not even watching that new trailer. There's no need, they got me already.

I have Witcher 3 downloaded but am yet to play. Now a good time to jump in?

The game has always been amazing, but you might want to wait until the pre-patch for this DLC because there are a lot of UI changes coming.

If not though, don't hesitate. The current UI is perfectly functional and the game itself is absolutely amazing.

reading kotaku's preview, seems like bosses will still kick your ass.

Hope they improved the load times from game over...

no not really. unless you can finish the base game + HoS in the next 3 weeks! should have finished it by now so you can start playing B&W straight away.

To be fair; if you stick to the main quests in the base game you can "skip a lot".
I'm still in my first run, taking a HoS detour now, will start BaW when it arrives, and finish up the main game after that

CD Project Red delivers as usual. They don't like something in their game? They are not afraid to change it.

This is why they are my absolute favourite developers in the entire industry.

Are they doing another deal where you can buy just the Gwent set with prior proof of purchase of the season pass?

So are these UI and graphical improvements going to come to the base game in the form of some sort of patch?

Also, do I have to have beaten the main game to play this? I keep going back to Witcher 3 even though it frustrates the hell out of me.

For the UI changes at least yes. There will be a patch prior to release like with Hearts of Stone. Not sure about the grass/cloth.

They are production design experts, they clearly gave everything in this whole other country a different cultural look that equals lots of new assets and armors.

Everything sounds fucking amazing. The book change (press a button to read the book or note you just picked up) should have been in the main game from the get go. I admit that. The fact that they are willing to change it this late in the game is still great. Most dev's would leave it the way it is, focus on just new content for the expansion. All of the changes sound great. New grass is exciting (as lame as that sounds) they talked in a preview event before about possibly going back and adding that grass to the full game.

Here's the armor Ursine armor upgrades that they mentioned didn't make the final game

Also the option to turn off the fish eye witcher sense is incredible. One of the biggest problems with the game considering how often you need to use that mode. God bless you cd projekt red

Good, good.

As for those old friends
Iorveth is technically possible but very unlikely, Saskia is dead.

I swear, half my posts are about this. :p

Iorveth and his Scoia'tael got cut from the base game. It would make no sense for him to be in Toussaint. I've heard that they're doing a comic, but I haven't seen anything official yet to back that up.

Both will not be in B&W. Saskia isn't dead either. It's just one interpretation of the comic, and the REDs have suggested that she's alive and well.

I believe they're referring to
Dandelion and Fringilla Vigo
with that old friends quote.

Where did they say that? The new Grandmaster Ursine looks very similar to the old concept. You can also dye it black now.
