Gran Turismo Sport launches on November 15th.

Can they nail the sound thus time? With significantly less cars, I hope they were able to give a little more love to sound quality. Please no vacuums.

Eurogamer review makes it sound like the vacuums are still in full effect. Still holding out hope for the physics being good at least, but hearing that "a GT3 Ferrari droned rather than screamed" sounds exactly like what I was hoping was gone.

Surprised GT Sport will be a holiday 2016 game. This holiday looks like it's gonna be a strong one for Sony in terms of 1st party offerings.

The Last Guardian
GT Sport
Horizon (maybe)
E3 reveals???

I think that makes it more likely Horizon will be moved to early 2017. I really don't see any reason to release more than 2 AAA first party titles in the Fall when there are going to be so many big 3rd party titles releasing, most of which will sell better on the PS4.

Goddamnit

and plays

Doubledamnit.

I'd have been fine with it looking WORSE than GT6 because graphics don't matter in racing games. I'd have maybe let sounds slide if it played exceptionally well, but to hear it's same old same old isn't promising at all. I think this might be the first one I don't get day one, will have to see any demos or reviews I think.

Graphics look solid. Have they mentioned weather or dynamic TOD (both in previous gen titles) yet? I'll probably pick this up for my birthday a few weeks after launch.

Edit: kind of disappointed at the lack of self reflections that Driveclub had.

Sounds from GT6? Will wait for a good deal, Driveclub and Project Cars have filled my quota of racing games last 2 years, too late for a GT.

140 cars huh?

That's a shame, would rather get the PS2 cars that I actually want to drive around Nurburgring...looks mean less to me, but guess they don't really fit the racing focus formula.

Think this GT is not really for me, will wait for GT7.

Ehh... hoping for the best but I've seen nothing so far to really change my opinion that PD have been well and truly leapfrogged by Turn 10 in recent years.

Screenshots are nice but nothing mindblowing. The environments actually look quite rough and with Horizon 3 coming this year I don't expect to be buying two racing games.

Gran Turismo Sport, however, looks, sounds and plays just like Gran Turismo 6 on the Playstation 3

How is this even possible? Anyway i don't have a lot of hopes for sound...

It's a compliment of sorts - Gran Turismo 6 is still, a few years and a generation later, an exceptionally handsome game, and Sport benefits from a solid foundation. Right now, though, it doesn't look to do much with that foundation - to an untrained eye (albeit one that's poured countless hours into Gran Turismo 6) it's hard to tell the difference.

What?

Again sounds like the vr is holding the game back big time. I'm surprised Sony allowed this.

I'm not worried about it. The VR folks will damn sure enjoy it and folks like me will enjoy it just the same as we always do. I am just happy to be getting a GT on PS4. A heavyweight added to the library for sure.

y'all should be ashamed

Always weird to read this when T10 barely implemented weather/night racing in their last game and still don't have dynamic time/weather, endurance racing, etc. in yet. They've been playing catch up for quite some time.

Of course they have their strengths compared to GT. I think they both could learn a lot from each other.

Because those 2 racing games aim to do exactly the same thing right?

Fucking hell racing threads really drag the bullshit out of people.

Wildcard berths that can't beat teams without a winning record should have homefield advantage
Am I crazy, or is it just not as visually impressive as this series used to be?

Diminishing returns? Perhaps games like Driveclub and Forza are helping take some of the luster away, maybe? I'm not sure.

Uncharted 4 makes a move for the open, but at what cost?

AI partners Sully and Sam Drake occasionally intervene in all that chaos. It's not a great advert for the slightly cumbersome fundamentals of Uncharted's combat, where there's not quite enough weight to the weapons, not quite enough fluidity in Drake's transitions from cover to cover, and the directorial hand that proved too stifling in Drake's Deception might have moved too far away.

Numbered GT's have a lot of cars that you simply would never race in. It's much more about the history of cars in general. Sport is going to lean more toward cars you would race in. That doesn't mean that there are only racing cars as we've already seen road going cars. But it'll be more about the history of racing.

It means a game is focused on the actual motorsport instead of being a Pokemon game where the main focus is to drive events with silly scenarios to gain money to buy cars to drive another silly scenario event.

A motorsport focused game is different because they expect you to be satisfied with the actual racing, which could mean use the same car for 10 straight races for example.

Imagine Project CARS vs. GT/Forza. Quite frankly I'm not that sold GT Sport is actually that racing focused. It seem to be a hybrid between Pokemon GT mainline series and a 100% racing game (GT3 on a oval?)

Cool, thanks.

am I the only one who thinks the reason it doesn't look as good as people expected is because they toned things down for VR compatibility? I mean this launches in November couple weeks after PS VR launches.

Not hard to put 2 and 2 together.

Just my thoughts on it anyway.

I know I damn sure want both.

Yep. I got Driveclub and Horizon 2 in 2014 and had a great time with both. Got Forza 6 and PCars last year and had a great time with both.

No doubt I will get both Horizon 3 and GT Sport this year and enjoy both for what they have to offer but I guess some people have got to chose their allegiances.

Each racing game on the market at the moment offers a very different experience.

If you want the crap looking GT6 cars, stick to GT6 buddy. PD doing the right thing with GT Sport, all cars have equal attention paid to them from the start. This seems to be a very focused game without bloat, feels like PD went back to their GT3 routes and it's the best game they've made.

No talk of weather though, fuck knows what's happening there but meh I'm buying this Day 1 no matter what.

Not to be that guy but if you can't see the difference in visuals between this and GT6 then you clearly haven't played GT6. What a joke article.

Apparently this topic triggers you, but I never said they tried to do the same thing, I said I don't see myself buying two racing games.

Fucking hell racing threads really drag the bullshit out of people
You've certainly demonstrated this.
