Havent played since just before 3.1, trailer does make it tempting. Is player housing still super limited? Always inordinately pissed off by how they implemented it

No change on that front. They add new houses every now and then, but there are still way too few of those. For the record, I dislike how they implemented it too.

I'll probably come back, play a few weeks and leave again. I like to meet my free company friends, but I am no longer interested in the game itself.

Yes, but they will be adding another batch of plots (~700 plots per server I think) with the patch and changing prices in general so if you really, really want a house every server will have some available for a short period before running out again.

Just keep in mind that houses expire after 45 days of the owner not accessing one, so keeping your house requires never taking long breaks.

They are adding a bunch of new housing wards and plots with this patch. Also they are coming out with some new style of housing in future patches, but have been vague about what it is.

Wish the trailer provided a bit more context for some of the added features.

Like WTF is Deep Dungeon and The Aquapolis, etc...? Just always felt MMO patch trailers are always poor in this regard. (Not exclusive to just FFXIV trailers)

The Aquapolis are like "Cave of Mysteries" style random of events when opening up a dragonskin map chest. They give gil, mats, and both unique minions as well as previous minions that were harder to get. Its a trial of chance where you fight in rooms and at the completion of each room you have some manner of chance to continue on to the next one or the alternative is it kicks you out, its meant to be a kind of bonus mode to dragonskin maps and not particular hard content.

The Deep Dungeon which comes in 3.35 (Julyish) is special 1-4 player content where your item level means nothing and you power up through items and moving through the floors. All floors are randomly generated meaning its not a clear linear path like all previous dungeons and for FFXI players it might be somewhat similar to Nzyul, Meebles Murrows/Moblin Maze Mongers in terms of its random floor styling. Its not mean to be particularly difficult content to complete, but eventually difficult to master as there will be timed modes/rankings. The only confirmed thing they said we would obtain in the deep dungeon is the weapons of light, weapons whose graphics are pure light as was seen in the trailer.

Those will be "apartments", so it's safe to assume they would function like how Free Company house rooms work, so one plot of land would house X number of players with their own rooms, as opposed to 1 plot of land being for 1 player. Not very exciting, but I guess if you're really hard up for an interior living space, it does the job.

That looked so good and so smooth.

Excited to play 3.3 :)

My friends and I are excited for this patch- I want to know exactly why ViVi is in the world.

Also, still hoping they reduce the amount of unidentified thingies needed for the anima quest- I just reached having 10 of each, so I'm only halfway there after all these months! :(

They haven't. Only fate drops have been needed.

Are you doing your daily roulettes and beast man tribes? You could be averaging about 2.5 a day if you do.
