Why will their cards be more expensive where you live when they are about the same or cheaper everywhere else?
Location dependent? I know you can buy zotac and palit 1080s now in the Philippines for a not so cool $840. Inno3d might be available too already for the same price. They're pretty popular in the Philippines

Preorders were up for a bit last night and I snagged one for 700 shipped. Unsure if they still are available.

700 for the FTW model?

Colorful iGame GTX 1080 X-Top
EVGA GTX 1080 Hybrid
EVGA GTX 1080 Hydro Copper
Zotac GTX 1080 AMP!
Zotac GTX 1080 AMP! Extreme

Looks like this Asus ROG Strix model too

Yes.

Generally power supplies come with 6+2 connectors for the GPU.

Where were they available from?

I mean wasn't Dr us' list about what models had 2x 8pin connectors? Your response made it seem like you were saying that the card you posted a picture of had one too but it only has 8x6.

I am confused lol.

Shoot if preorders are available for the 1070 on Monday, I'm in there but that probably a big ask seeing how the launch for the 1080 went.

Since they are interchangeable in the PSU sometimes the difference isn't necessarily specified.

I just meant any GPU that gets more power from the PSU.

Thanks.

Good chance this will have a waterblock solution?

If you are going to go H20, I would suggest wait for the Hydro Cooper version of the card. From the pictures I have seen, it has 8x8 pin power versus 8x6 pin power in the FTW. Who knows what other benefits the Hydro will have over the FTW edition as well.

I am just dying to read the first overclock reviews of a Watercooled 8x6 or 8x8 1080. I am going to go out on a limb and say that we will be seeing 2400-2500ghz clocks (unless it is handicapped by NVidia on voltage).

Any word on when the custom cards will release??

Sounds like the first couple of weeks of June, but there's a terrible lack of concrete information and pre-order availability. Just a lot of product details without hard release dates.

Gunna pre order me a 1080 this week.

Torn between the inno3d Ichill x3 or the EVGA superclocked..

The inno3d I expect will be a beast of a card but I'm weary over the RMA process with them.

$380 is a damn good price for a GTX 1070

Considering paid nearly $350 for my HD7950 back in 2012.

This will definitely be the upgrade I've been waiting for all this time.

I am looking forward to it.

I haven't been following this closely, what is the difference between the EVGA FTW and the regular one (non-FE)? Sorry if this has been talked about previously

The main ones are the out of the box factory overclock, the custom coolers and the dual pin power. The dual pins allow for presumably better overclocking even on top of the factory overclock.

I think I'm going to go for the regular ASUS Strix once it's up on Amazon. I'll be rolling the dice vis-a-vis warranty, but ~AUD$80 (USD$620 versus the FTW at USD$680) is a fair chunk of change.

Yep me too, seems to be the best value of the 1080 cards. But I'm going to wait for some reviews first especially to see how the 8+2 power phase handles overclocking compared with other cards. I hope it comes with a bit of a factory overclock coz I'm lazy that way.

Also might be easier to deal with Asus return where I live.

The core clock is stock standard, however the cooler is the very same as that used on the Gaming model, so you shouldn't have any trouble increasing it to match (and then some, with any luck).

The 1080 is going for 800 EUR minimum in Germany at the moment. What the heck? 600 $ in the US, 800 EUR in Europe. Makes sense, right? I can't imagine that the price for the 1070 will be below 600 EUR around here. What a joke.

Nice that the new cards are starting to get released. Will go with AMDs new cards myself but these are definitely looking good.

FE: 789€ / 699$ + tax

As Durante pointed out, partner cards start at 660€ (US MSRP: 599$ + tax).

I hate the GPU market. You spend months getting yourself hyped and then you spend a month when it releases trying to figure out why the releasing of GPUs is so convoluted and awful.

I can't *believe* these lazy developers keep making file sizes so damn large. Btw, how does technology work?
Any cards with extra power pins that work with EK's blocks?
